Good morning, friends!
Well, today Venus opposed Pluto retrograde officially at 10:11 am ET and the Moon in Libra squares the sun in Cancer tomorrow for the First Quarter Moon. Today and tomorrow are about coming to a crossroads, making decisions, and implementing the next actions.
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today’s Transits
Late last night at 12:24 am ET the Moon in Libra formed a harmonious trine with Pluto in Aquarius retrograde symbolizing a swift purge of emotions, or a long-winded sentence, that may have come out of you like releasing a held breath. This is all in anticipation of whatever may be coming with Venus’s opposition to Pluto today.
Venus in Leo opposed Pluto in Aquarius retrograde at 10:11 am ET. This can be an intense transit and represent a choice between beauty and decay, fertility and death, living luxuriously, or existing in survival mode. With the opposition often comes a crossroads where you have to make a choice between one thing and another; sometimes it means trying to find the balance between the two things and coming to a compromise, sometimes it means making a decision and going to one extreme. When an opposition involves Pluto we usually see an irrevocable decision or change occur after the confrontation, like the dying of a flower after a heat wave, the burning of a piece of wood after being lit, the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly after the cocoon phase, the scrambling of an egg after being cracked into a hot pan—these things can not be changed back, and that is the case when planets oppose Pluto. Whatever the other planet represents in your life, has to go through a sort of metaphorical chemical change; sometimes it’s literal, as when we experience the death of someone we care about. It needs mentioning because Pluto is one of the planets that universally signifies death and in this case, it may be directed toward something Venusian: feminine, beautiful, loving, and valuable to you. Venus represents relationships of all kinds so one of our relationships could go through a process of change and transformation triggered by this transit. Of course, how this transit interacts with your natal chart can give us clues as to what you may personally expect. We may notice this archetypal combination leading up to, during, and after the moment of this transit’s exactitude.
In the evening the Moon in Libra makes a sesquiquadrate to Mars in Taurus at 5:17 pm, then she conjoins the South Node in Libra at 6:26 pm, followed by a trine to Jupiter in Gemini at 7:58 pm, and finally, at 8:56 pm the Libra Moon will perfect a sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Taurus.
What does all this mean?
This sequence could feel something like this: At first, there are delays and setbacks due to some sort of event beyond your control, maybe the weather, maybe work, maybe an accident on the freeway. This may leave you feeling drained or down, but you are able to harness superficial emotions to keep the peace and stay calm; you’re going to weather the storm, find patience at work, or drive carefully around the accident. Through your diplomacy, patience, and charm you win friends, praise, and/or blessings from high places, or perhaps you are granted wisdom, as you have demonstrated your ability to pick and choose your battles and be successful mediators, leading by example. The delays and setbacks keep on coming, creating friction on your path or in your environment, but armed with optimism you power through!
The Weekend
First Quarter Moon in Libra
The First Quarter Moon will be at 22°Libra 00’ at 6:48 pm ET. You can see the Moon in Libra on the left-hand side of the chart above at about the 10 o’clock position. The Sun is on the upper right of the chart at about 2 o’clock. The Moon is applying to an opposition to Chiron which we can see directly opposite the Moon in Aries at about 4 o’clock. The Moon at 22°Libra is in the part of the sky known as the Via Combusta, ranging from 15°Libra to 15°Scorpio and is said to be a perilous place for the Moon.
The Libra Moon is amiable, loves to collect friends, allies, and networks, and may feel safer in a group setting than at home alone, surrounded only by their creature comforts. With the Libra Moon in the inferior position to the Sun in Cancer, this weekend could be a social one and that social aspect could be an attempt to create an extended network of safety and security through community, connection, and friendship.
Integrating the opposition to Chiron: on the one hand, we have the charming, diplomatic, social Moon who wants listen to everyone’s ideas, opinions, and feelings, weighing them out in hopes of making just decisions that create peace, balance, and harmony, and on the other hand, we have a freedom-loving, independent, action-oriented Chiron, where the focus is not on the other people per se, but more on the personal, individual, and self-serving goals to heal wounds and protect vulnerabilities. So, inherent in this First Quarter Moon phase is something personal that needs to be healed and worked on to feel safe and secure in our environments.
Whatever seeds you planted a week ago with the New Moon in Cancer, now it is time for the next step. You may be taking action today or you may be realizing the ball that started rolling a week ago. You may also be scuttling about, tending to your home or the management of your home life, your familial relationships, and community connections, doing what you can to ensure that you are caring for and protecting those you love and at the same time providing a safe, nurturing, and secure space for yourself.
Here are some questions to ask yourself during this lunar phase:
What are you taking action toward today? What are you noticing taking shape? What are you caring for? How are you healing something very personal and individual to you, by connecting and engaging with others right now?
Briefly, below you will find the house that this First Quarter Moon is occurring in according to your rising sign. Find your rising and read the house topics associated with this First Quarter Moon. You may notice action, movement, tending to, or an event involving one or more of those topics.

More Transits This Weekend…
Additionally, over the weekend, Mars makes frustrating aspects to the nodes on Saturday and Venus makes a sesquiquadrate to Saturn in Pisces retrograde on Sunday—this could be frustrating and mean lack of movement or roadblocks. The Moon also enters Scorpio on Sunday, squaring Pluto in Aquarius retrograde, which means we may not be getting much done for work or love because of some sort of emotional crisis.
The Tarot Card
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
What is the guidance for today?
IX The Hermit
IX The Hermit is about seeking the truth and lighting the way for ourselves and others. This card is about connecting with our inner guide who illuminates the path before us and equips us with the internal knowledge of which direction to go. We have to quiet our minds in order to listen to the message IX The Hermit is trying to convey and in the solitude and stillness we may hear the answers we are seeking.
With Venus in Leo opposing Pluto in Aquarius retrograde we may be going back over things that have come up in our relationships and digging deeper into them, fearlessly facing the truth with courage, love, and an open heart, digging through the refuse pile to find the fertile compost that we can use to grow. The Libra Moon energy is providing us the willingness to get along, hear both sides and eventually make a just decision. IX The Hermit means we are coming to a crossroads where we’ll have to decide which direction to take—The Hermit shows the way—listen to your internal guide or seek out wise consultation if needed. Meditate on your dilemmas and then share your reflections. We are all eager to hear them.
What do you think? Does this reading or the transits resonate with you? I would love to hear your thoughts.
I hope this is helpful!
Until Monday,

I excavated a part of an old wound for like the 27th time to extract the remaining bits of shrapnel. Annoying.
