Chiron Conjoins the North Node, the Moon is Out of Bounds, & V The Hierophant-Reversed
Daily Horoscope Check-In for Monday, February 19, 2024
Good morning, friends!
Today is an interesting day. The Moon is in Cancer all day and over the weekend she went “out of bounds,” meaning that her declination, the distance that she is either North or South from the celestial equator is further than the obliquity of the Earth, which is 23.5°. The obliquity of the Earth is caused by the tilt of the Earth’s axis in relationship to the Sun’s path, the ecliptic. The Sun is bound to this area of our sky and can only travel as high up as the Tropic of Cancer and as low down as the Tropic of Capricorn, thus giving us the seasons. But, the planets and the Moon are not bound to this plane. This makes for a wild-card moon!
The Cancer Moon usually inspires us to create a warm and inviting home that feels comfortable and secure, and we still might, but with the out-of-bounds energy, we may feel like doing something different than what is typical or expected of us. The Moon doesn’t come back to within the obliquity of the Earth until Thursday, February 22, 2024, while she’s in Leo.
Another interesting thing today is that the out-of-bounds Moon has formed several quincunxes during the night and early morning to all the planets in Aquarius, first Pluto, then Venus, and finally Mars. What this means is that there is a lot of information that we are trying to mentally wrap our heads around and integrate with our feelings; we are trying to align our heads and our hearts logically and it may feel like trying to put the wrong puzzle pieces together or perhaps the pieces all fit but the resulting picture is a jumble or is different than what you expected it to look like. It can be really disorienting and leave us scratching our heads.
This afternoon the Moon in Cancer forms a harmonious trine to Saturn in Pisces which may feel like a green light from the Universe—we are getting things in order and it feels good. This transit represents being responsible for our actions, feelings, and motivations and is a positive transit that may help us feel in control and on top of our to-do lists for the day. Green lights from Saturn are always nice, it’s like driving by a cop on the road and them smiling at you while making a “Thumbs-up!” gesture like, “You’re doing great, following the rules of the road! Keep up the good work!” It just feels good.
The Moon is also making a sesquiquadrate to Mercury in Pisces this afternoon as well which could make communication hard or choppy at best. There is some friction surrounding conversations that makes them kind of clunky, like a bad connection. You’re still talking to the person, but you can only hear every other word and have to fill in the missing pieces. Have patience, this is a temporary and quick transit.
At 4:12 pm ET Chiron in Aries perfects his conjunction to the North Node at 16°45’. This could feel like
