Finally! We’ve got some beautiful vibes this weekend, y’all!
Saturday could be a little bit emotional and edgy, but Sunday looks like it could be very blissful. So, here’s what’s going on…
The theme for the weekend is Creative Flow.
(If you want to skip the astrological details, go down to Surfing the Waves of our Lives)
The Moon is now in watery Pisces which is a very creative, emotional, intuitive sign, that will bring a lot of dreamy, and artistic energy. Pisces is also empathic, open, and receptive and because of this, there is usually a lack of boundaries, as it is easy to pick up on other people’s emotions and think they are your own when the moon is here; even more so if you yourself have a water sign moon: Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces. So there is a need to put up psychic guards to protect your energy field—we all have a little bit thinner skin when the Moon is here and the walls around our “mental and emotional fortresses” are easier to breach.
Saturday morning, the Sun and Mercury will be meeting up at the Cazimi point, which is an auspicious time for all things Mercury: writing, studying, talking, taking short journeys, and reading. The Sun is giving Mercury a great big boost of life-supporting energy while Mercury is here, so we may all feel some clarity again and be able to articulate our thoughts easily!
The Sun and Mercury are beginning their trine over to Neptune in Pisces! What a propitious weekend! This feels beautiful, creative, and spiritual to me. It’s like the sunrise coming up over the horizon, shining light on all that it touches, and you can hear the angels singing when it does so!
Our creativity and intuition will be flowing this weekend! We can use this energy to get into the flow with the Universe and surf the waves of inspiration!
The Moon will also be making a nice sextile to Mars, Saturday morning, so we will have the juice to act on our creative impulses.
The edginess on Saturday has to do with Saturn, of course. The Sun and Mercury, while they are making nice aspects to each other and Neptune, will be making a quincunx to Saturn in Aquarius. There is some change or separation that may occur this weekend involving themes like responsibility, authority figures, commitments, life and vitality, methods of information collecting, communications, and structures.
So, yesterday, when the Moon conjoined Saturn in Aquarius and we got serious, maybe even felt a little drained energetically, we were reflecting on the many lessons that Saturn has given us recently (and our whole lives, let’s be honest!), and now this weekend, something may happen that will push us through into a new situation.
This could be joyful, or very stressful. It symbolizes releasing or letting go of a set of responsibilities, or a very structured situation. With all the other positive aspects going on around this transit, I feel like this could represent something we are ultimately happy about!
Venus is at those final degrees of Gemini on Saturday and most of Sunday, and ingresses into Cancer late Sunday night. So, most of the weekend will feel like we are collecting the last big pieces of the puzzle that we need before we are able to focus on our foundation, our family, and our home comforts—connecting all the edge pieces before working on the inner ones.
Sunday the Moon will make a nice sextile to Uranus and the North Node and could feel magical!
But I think the real show-stopper set of transits that will happen on Sunday will be late Sunday evening starting around 9:32 pm ET and lasting well into the early morning on Monday—Venus moves into Cancer, Mercury in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon conjoins Neptune in Pisces, while the Sun is still in a very close trine with Neptune. Mars and Jupiter are in a semi-sextile, Mars and Neptune are in a semisquare, and Jupiter and Saturn are in a semisquare as well!
Major revelations about the way in which we all exist in the world, coupled with sudden intuitive downloads from the Universe, and feeling like we need to make a decision about something that we recently received information about.
We could feel loss or confusion, too, as this is a lot of Neptune and Pisces energy. The best way that I have found to work with this type of energy is to get into something artistic. Turn off the left brain for a bit and let the intuitive side take the steering wheel for the day.
I know that this was a lot of astrology, and I’ve been trying to think of a creative scenario to put this into layman’s terms and into a perspective we can all wrap our heads around. Surfing is what came up.
Surfing the Waves of our Lives
Now, I don’t surf, but I have been in the ocean before and there’s one thing that I know for certain—you cannot control the waves. If you swim against them or try to go against the current, you will lose. Your best bet is to move with them, “surf” them, and let them carry you to shore.
Exploring this idea of “surfing,” I Googled, “What it feels like to surf” and found a beautiful article from theinertia.com titled, “Surfing Feels Like…” In this article the author shares the vivid ways in which her children have described what surfing feels like:
“It feels like riding on a tiger,”
“It feels like being in a tree and getting blown all around.”
“It feels like the window blinds when you let go and it flies up really fast.”
“It feels like riding on a bird.”
“It feels like you’re running away from a car going really fast.” (Sublet, 2018)
I love all of those descriptions! And, that is what I think this weekend is going to be all about. We will feel like we are surfing the waves of our emotions and of life. It could feel exciting, elating, and incredible! Or it could feel scary and chaotic, mixed with a sense of purpose. It could feel like we are trying to outrun a force like an automotive, or like we are being carried by an incredible beast!
The author goes on to talk about the positive effects of the negative ions, produced by the breaking waves, on our moods and emotional state, and how feeling “Stoke,” a term I just thought meant that something was really awesome, actually has a scientific meaning to it! Of course, I had to look that up too and found another great article, “The Stoke of a Lifetime: Surfing and the effect of Negative Ions,” (Sandy, 2020), where the author goes into the chemistry behind how the negative ions do their magic.
I think we may all be feeling stoked this weekend. It will be like surfing in the ocean— metaphorically, at least!
The weather, and the number of people out on the waves with us, will have an impact. Whether or not we enjoy this time will depend upon our attitudes and our ability to go with the creative flow. If we try to go against it, (with those semisquares), we won’t get anywhere. Our best bet is to surrender to the natural current of the Ocean this weekend and let it take us where it will.
Hopefully, because we don’t want to be lost out at sea, that will be to a solid shore—and I think with Venus moving into Cancer we will all be craving that nice little beach bungalow by the end of the night, kicking back around a campfire with some sausages! I think the only way that we can avoid being dragged out to sea by a rip tide is if we surrender to creativity and let the energy flow through us.
Now, I do believe there are life-threatening moments when we do have to swim and fight like hell against the current trying to cast us out, but I don’t see that this weekend. I see pet peeves irritating us, annoying bills we forgot popping up, or pests flying into the garden and eating a bunch of leaves off our green beans. Life will be better this weekend and could be incredibly enjoyable, if we all act like spiritual surfers and ride the waves, getting “stoked” by the negative ions, washing away all the anxiety, depression, and emotional ups and downs with their serotonin-increasing capabilities!
Do you surf? If so, what does surfing feel like to you? I would love to know.
Let’s pick a Soul Card:
This card, to me, feels like letting our third eye do the speaking as we meditate on the pictures in our mind of the beautiful life we are manifesting.
What comes up for you when you look at this card? I would love to hear your thoughts!
I hope this weekend's horoscope and card reading are helpful!
