The Moon left the earthy, fixed realm of Taurus and entered the airy, mutable space of Gemini this morning. So it is a transition day.

The Moon in Taurus is said to be exalted, so it is like she was at her vacation home, relaxed and cared for, but the Moon in Gemini is said to be peregrine, which describes a landscape that the Moon has to travel through which can feel isolating and alone. This is because the Moon in Gemini processes her emotions through her mind, rather than her feelings or senses, as in her home sign of Cancer or her exalted sign of Taurus—so logic, thought, words, and numbers create the foundational impulses, psychic undercurrents, and circumstances. We may feel a bit more logical, or fact-driven while the Moon is in Gemini, or we could experience more talkativeness, a desire to verbally express ourselves and work out the problems and scenarios in our heads out loud and with others, in order to figure things out.

Today is another day full of sextiles, and a trine. There are only a couple of semisquares that symbolize delays, and then tomorrow the Moon will conjoin Jupiter and square the Sun and Saturn during her first quarter square, so something is germinating, like the little flax seeds my kids and I planted a week ago. This week we will see this “something” push up from the soil and emerge into the light.

We start with the Moon in Taurus’ earliest aspect, which was a semisquare to Venus in Aries retrograde right after Midnight last night. This represents relationship tensions, romantic urges going nowhere, and just feeling like you are not on the same page with lovers, friends, and important females.

Then, at 3:11 am the Moon in Taurus made favorable aspects to the Nodes, indicating that things are destined to go along smoothly. This is encouraging.

By sunrise, the Taurus Moon formed a sextile to Neptune in Pisces showing peaceful feelings and harmonious dreams.

The Moon entered Gemini at 7:29 am ET, waking us up with news, alarms, or chit-chatty people. Right after I woke up this morning, about this time, my phone went off with an emergency tornado warning! I gathered my family in our living room and prepped them for a possible emergency descent into our basement, but thankfully that wasn’t needed, and the storm passed us over, unharmed.

During the tornado warning, Mercury in Aries perfected a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius representing a restless mind, but one that can quickly assess the situation and act accordingly—seems very apt to my situation!

Additionally, this energy may show up in persuasive speeches, and orators who are specialized in their fields and can share their inside information in an understandable and clear way. It could also represent negotiations, meetings, or the exchange of ideas that are transformational in some way. Information and data may also come to the surface and be exposed.

By mid-morning at 11:50 am, the Moon in Gemini formed a semisquare to Mars in Cancer portending the desire and willingness to fight and defend one’s feelings but the semisquare shows that this defensive posture is unnecessary and leads us nowhere. Much better to diffuse situations and be diplomatic, calm, and patient.

This afternoon, the Gemini Moon will make a trine to Pluto in Aquarius at 12:35 pm and then a sextile to Mercury in Aries at 1:01 pm, symbolizing change and transformation of feelings, emotions, supportive information, and circumstances that come up quickly or are exchanged rapidly. Then, there is an opportunity for the diplomatic exchange of ideas and conversations may go along smoothly and without tension or anger. This seems promising! (Do you think the President has an astrological advisor? It would be helpful, don’t ya think?)

I think today’s astrology is very hopeful and means that cooperative agreements, deals, and sales could be had that are beneficial for all parties involved. Then, when the Moon forms her First Quarter square to the Sun and Saturn tomorrow, and conjoins Jupiter, we may see these agreements begin to take shape, commence on the big stage, and documents will be signed and handshakes will be exchanged, and plans will begin, so to speak. A powerful First Quarter, followed by a Lunar Eclipse is on its way! Change is about to happen. Ships are about to set sail. History is about to be written.
