Without further ado, here is the daily horoscope.

Good morning, friends!

I feel very off today.  I am not sure if it’s the Mercury retrograde or the eclipse energy, but I just feel out of sorts.  The sky outside this morning is literally green with dark gray clouds in the background.  There is definitely a storm coming.  Just checked the weather.  Yep, heavy thunderstorms and rain all day.

Astrology is like tracking the weather.  We notice a green/gray glow to the day and when we check the chart our suspicions are confirmed in the heavens.

(I can hear the rumbles off in the distance heading my way.)

Okay, let’s get into… the astrology

Today the Moon ingressed into Gemini at 6:10 am ET.  The Moon is peregrine in Gemini, which means that she feels like a foreigner in a distant land with no family, allies, or friendly acquaintances to speak of.  Yet, the Moon is curious in Gemini, for the Geminian landscape is a curious land, full of interesting words, games, and trickery.  It’s Mercury’s world and Mercury is the planet that in traditional astrology ruled over magic, philosophy, and complicated data.  Mercury was said to be able to travel between worlds—he’s the Sun’s best friend, but he can also dip deep down into the underworld, only to pop back up again as the morning or evening star, bringing with him great insights and knowledge that other’s were not privy to.

(The rain is here.  It is a mighty storm.  Lots of rain and wind.)

Mercury just stationed retrograde yesterday in the sign of Taurus—a fixed, earth sign whose primary focus is planting and seeding tangible things that will nourish and sustain a good life.  Taurus is sensual, steadfast, and stubborn.  Like a fertile bull ready to procreate.  Taurus is solid, immovable, and stable.  So, why do we all feel so unstable?  The answers lie in the fact that Uranus, the planet of sudden change, upheaval, and disruption, is in Taurus and has been since May of 2018 when he dipped his toe in, shook up the world with just a wiggle, and then solidly planted his feet in November of that year.  Since then, the very earth beneath our feet has felt unstable, like tremors from a prehistoric monster roaming around deep in the earth and we don’t know when or where it will emerge.  Thankfully, there really isn’t a prehistoric man-eating monster in the depths of the earth, but you get the idea.

(Thunder and lightning time.  This storm feels so ominous.)

So, we have the Moon in Gemini this weekend, feeling a bit lost and out of sorts—a little too analytical, yet socially curious and easily excitable, and we have Mercury in Taurus now retrograde, going back over things that they are trying to build and create—why just this morning I went on a little rabbit hole reading about writing and re-thinking how I write and what I write and all that jazz—and we have Uranus, a key player in this Mercury retrograde because one: he is copresent with Mercury and two: Mercury started his retrograde only 2°15’ away from a bodily conjunction with Uranus.  It was like Mercury was approaching Uranus and then said, “Psyche!” and turned around to go the other way.  Almost like he got cold feet or something.  When Mercury and Uranus conjoin it can bring about sudden change to one’s environment, way of thinking, or communication.

The Moon in Gemini will make a couple of important aspects on Saturday—a trine to Pluto in Aquarius and a square to Saturn in Pisces.  The trine to Pluto could mean that things from the depths easily come to the surface and both planets in air signs, I would say this may have to do with communication, social activities, and forms of relating of all kinds.  Both Gemini and Aquarius are about relating with others, flitting about socializing, conversing, and networking.  So, we could have an easy time getting into interesting and deep conversations on Saturday.

Moon square Saturn on the other hand does not represent an easy time, but rather a moment where we can get really serious about what we believe, love, and feel is divinely guiding our life.  So, there may be gravity or pressure to contain our emotional selves on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Moon in Gemini will conjoin Venus in Gemini, so this could be a great time for affection, laughter, fun, and games!  Playfulness may be in the air!

Also on Sunday Mercury retrograde in Taurus forms a sextile to Mars in Cancer, so this means that there is energy to get some stuff done that you’ve been wanting to do for a while.  This may have to do with paperwork you’ve been meaning to get to or piles of clutter in your home that need to be cleared away.  With Mars in the homey sign of Cancer, this could literally be folding that pile of laundry that you have on your couch or switching out your winter clothes for your spring wardrobe or cleaning out your car.  Whatever physical improvements you can make to your environment this weekend that will make you feel better, I feel you will have the desire and energy to do so and it’s a great weekend to get those things done!

All in all, I feel that this weekend is going to be pretty nice and easy.  Except for the Moon square Saturn on Saturday that could bring in a serious storm that you have to deal with, everything else, eclipse and Mercury retrograde energy aside—looks pretty calm.

Let’s move on to a three-card spread for the weekend that represents the situation, obstacle, and the advice.

The Page of Swords (the situation), is crossed by the Page of Pentacles (the obstacle) and both are supported by Magus (the advice) below the crossed cards.

The card that represents the situation:

Page of Swords

The Page of Swords is all about feeling full of energy, passion, and enthusiasm for life! You may have new ideas or passions that have you very excited!  You may be making many plans for the future that involve a new project, subject to study, or a new way of communicating.  You could be thinking about things in a new way, from a new perspective, or with a new type of technology.

This card is literally underlying the obstacles that you face.

The card that represents the obstacle:

Page of Pentacles

The Page of Pentacles represents taking on new responsibilities in your life in matters like money, home, and anything that is tangible.  He is trustworthy, responsible, and offers his assistance.

As the obstacle card, I feel this is about getting the things that you need in the material sense or accomplishing tasks in the domestic sense. You may need to take on new responsibilities in order to do these things.

Do you have work that needs to get done today that would make your weekend carefree?  Are there responsibilities that you need to take on in order to make your life run more smoothly?

This is the challenge, the cross that you bear right now.

The card that represents the advice:

Magus

Magus, is also known as, 0 The Fool and is the main character of the tarot, representing the soul’s journey through life. The Fool card is numbered “0” because it represents both the beginning and the end of the journey and the circuitous nature of life.

On this card, we see a youthful man, walking on the edge of a cliff.  A dog is pulling down his stocking revealing his bum! He is holding a traveling stick with a pouch of his belongings, his karma, tied to it in one hand, and in the other, a walking stick, used for exploration, not support.   He is looking up rather than down, and yet he knows the risks he is taking. Somehow there is always earth to catch his falling feet, creating divine trust between him and all creation.

The Fool card represents facing new beginnings without fear; taking risks and going on new adventures as if you’ve never been bitten in the ass by life before.

Being brave and courageous. Venturing out on the journey of life, even with fear trying to pull your pants down!  All you can do is laugh in the face of this embarrassment!

As the advice card and the energy that supports you, I feel this is reminding us to take risks, try new things, let go of our fears of failure; allow new feelings, transformations, boundaries, vulnerabilities, relationships, and creative ideas to take form—and laugh at ourselves when we feel embarrassed or foolish.  Failure is a great teacher. If nothing else, it makes for a better story later on, right?

So, to recap:

The situation is that we are armed and ready for something new in life, a new way of communicating, or a new way of thinking, but the challenge is that we have all of these tasks that need to be done, or items that need to be checked off our list and accounted for, before we can begin our projects!

The advice is to just do it! There may never be a “right” time and often the first step is the hardest, so, the advice is to take the first step even if you feel foolish and underprepared.

It could also indicate that you are on the precipice of success and so the message would be, “Don’t give up! That would be foolish!”

With it being eclipse season and Mercury retrograde, I do need to throw in a bit of caution here—this reading is saying, “Yes, take a risk and just do it!” but it could also be saying, “Don’t be a fool!” So, I think we need to look at it both ways and heed the warning that we may still need to be aware of the fact that eclipse season and Mercury retrograde are at work for the next two to three weeks and be kind to ourselves if there are mishaps, setbacks, or delays.

I feel that the obstacle card, the Page of Pentacles, is a very pragmatic and realistic card that is saying, “Before you leap, you need to do x,y, and z,”—so, work on crossing those items off your list and then you’ll be good to go! It will probably line up perfectly with the end of this eclipse cycle and Mercury’s retrograde!

I would love to know if this reading resonates with you and what your take on the cards is! Please leave a comment.

(The rain is now just a steady drizzle.  Large drips fall off the gutter of my house. The clouds have changed to a solid white overcast)

I hope this is helpful! Have a great weekend!
