Good morning, friends!
The Moon today is far enough away from the Sun that at sunset tonight we should be able to see the lovely crescent moon along with Venus in the night sky. Here is a link to Earthsky.org where you can check out how to view the planets and the moon this week and what a beautiful treat this will be to see!
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
The Moon on Monday and Tuesday will be in Cancer and she won’t change signs until Wednesday when she will ingress into the sign of Leo.
When the moon is in Cancer we want to focus on our home, making it comfortable— this includes cleaning, organizing, decluttering, and decorating, as well as cooking good-smelling foods or diffusing yummy-smelling essential oils.
At home, we are safe, secure, and know what to expect and these are all things that the Cancer moon desires.
The first aspect of the day at 1:53 am ET is a harmonious sextile between the Moon and the greater benefic Jupiter in Taurus! This is a beautiful transit to start the day with and speaks to optimism, feeling lucky, and being successful. You could be experiencing greater popularity, increased financial success, or be involved in a large enterprise that is making you feel on top of the world! Or you could just have woken up in a cheerful mood! Either way, the Moon in her home of Cancer, which is Jupiter’s exaltation, and Jupiter in the exaltation of the Moon, Taurus, makes for a really nice mutual reception where both planets are exalting the other and holding each other in high esteem. So, this represents feel-good energy all around to start the day and the week!
Almost at the same time as the Moon is forming this nice sextile to Jupiter, the Sun in Gemini forms a sextile to Mars in Leo. This is another harmonious aspect that indicates an opportunity for good fortune. The Sun in an air sign is igniting Mars in a fire sign and fire needs air to burn, right, so this is a great opportunity for action, clarity, and ambition. You could feel a renewed energy, vigor, or zest for life that is putting a little pep in your step today.
At 6:49 am ET the Moon in Cancer forms harmonious aspects to the North and South Node; a sextile and a trine, respectively, indicating an auspicious moment in the story of our destiny as it is unfolding.
I am really loving the harmonious aspects so far for Monday…
After this, at 8:31 am ET, Uranus in Taurus throws a little wrench in our happiness when the Moon forms a semisquare to him indicating that there is an unexpected twist to our fortune. The semisquare represents something that we want to happen, but then there are unexpected delays, tensions, or setbacks. With Uranus, these are unexpected tensions that come out of nowhere. Usually, this type of transit just means that you have to practice acceptance and be open to the outcome.
By noon, the Moon in Cancer forms a nice trine to Saturn in Pisces, indicating a good time for things that you are working on that require seriousness, stable emotions, and endurance. You have the emotional fortitude to see the projects through and get things done and it feels easy today to do so.
By the afternoon on Monday, the Moon forms another sextile to Mercury in Taurus, so thoughtfulness, open communications, and good judgment are in the air.
Really, a pleasant day on Monday and a nice way to start the week, considering the heavy energy we’ve been experiencing with the Mars/Pluto/Jupiter major T-Square.
On Tuesday…
The energy gets a bit more intense as the very first thing on the astrological agenda is Mars in Leo perfecting his square to Jupiter in Taurus.
Mars is the planet of war, aggression, and willpower and Jupiter is the planet of expansion, fertility, and growth—the two coming together in a challenging square aspect can represent explosiveness, hot tempers, and extreme actions. There could be instances of victimization, violence, and dominance. It wouldn’t surprise me to hear about terrible acts of violence and aggression in the news. On a personal level, this could indicate ruthlessness, big dramatic emotions, flare-ups, and just over-the-top actions. Depending upon your natal chart and what this dynamic aspect configuration is activating in your chart will determine how this one plays out for you personally. Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto could bring about a Tower moment in your life that destroys everything, but for the better, or it could bring about irrevocable change that is extremely positive—either way, we are dealing with extremes.
At 8:44 am ET on Tuesday the Moon in Cancer conjoins Venus in Cancer and this is a really nice transit that means we could be feeling more affection, popularity, cheerfulness, socialness, happiness in our relationships, and an increase in our good fortune. This will be a spectacular view, as I said, the crescent moon will be right next to Venus on Monday and Tuesday and it will be a beautiful sight.
The Moon then goes through a couple of touchy aspects on Tuesday morning after her conjunction to Venus—first a semisquare to the Sun in Gemini and then a square to Chiron in Aries—both of these transits speak to a growing awareness of our individuality.
When the Moon is in the crescent moon phase and she is waxing, gaining light, and growing—it represents asserting one’s independence, becoming more of ourselves, and individuating by pushing through the obstacles in our lives. It’s a time of courage, growth, and perseverance.
With the square to Chiron at the same time, this speaks to looking at our vulnerabilities and our internal wounds head-on and having the courage to face them.
By the afternoon, the Moon forms a sextile to Uranus in Taurus which means that whatever setbacks or delays you experienced yesterday with the Moon’s semisquare to Uranus, are removed and the opportunity that you desired is now available. This could also indicate another surprise coming in that sort of unblocks the energy and allows it to flow again. For example, if the transit of the Moon and Uranus yesterday was like a tree falling across a stream, temporarily blocking the flow of water, today that tree is removed and the water can flow freely again—so, expect the unexpected to remove some obstacles today.
At 6:01 pm ET, the Moon in Cancer forms a sesquiquadrate to Saturn in Pisces and this could be a hard way to end the day and there could be serious feelings of isolation, doubt, or depression that creep in—or maybe you get a summer cold or a headache or something ails you that sets you back a day or two—whatever it is it will be short-lived.

What is the guidance for today?
3 of Wands
On this card, we see a man in robes, holding a sprouted wand in his right hand with two more standing around him. The man’s back is turned away from us as he is looking out toward the distant mountains on the other side of the ocean. The wind is blowing his hair, and wildflowers grow at his feet. In the distance, there are boats on the water, their sails full from the wind, indicating change is on the horizon.
The Three of Wands is representing something in your life that is underway and the journey has just begun. The man is ready to travel and he can see what lies ahead of him—he can see what parts of the terrain will be easy and which parts will be more challenging and plan accordingly. There are many opportunities and he is ready to accept one or maybe already has. Another interpretation is that he has started a project and he is watching it manifest; managing it as it progresses—like a merchant watching his boats sail across the sea to their destination.
As the card for the day, I feel that this indicates change is taking place—either you are already underway on your new journey, project, or passion, or you are just about to set out upon it.
