Good morning, friends!

Quote of the day:
“When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in.”

Kristin Armstrong

One of the things I subscribe to is a daily email from Karmagaia.com. In today’s email was the quote above and this daily affirmation which I feel fits in so nicely with the astrology right now that I want to share it with you all:

Daily Affirmation

I am grateful for all the blessings in my life, big and small.  I express gratitude daily, cultivating a positive attitude and attracting more abundance into my life.  I enjoy the present moment and find joy in the simple things.

Affirmation from KarmaGaia.com

I love this idea of being grateful for the things you already have and finding joy in the simple things—this feels so “Jupiter in Taurus” to me. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and getting a broader view, yes, but I feel in Taurus it’s also about appreciating the present moment and nurturing and maintaining the things you already are building, like a garden, right? When Jupiter was in Aries, this felt like getting the garden started, planting the seeds, and taking the first few steps to make your vision of a garden a reality. Now, in Taurus, it’s about maintaining that garden, watering it—I just learned recently that Jupiter is the god of rain, and this makes so much sense because rain brings things to life—without it things wither and die—so watering your garden, feeding your soil with compost—that stuff that you threw out because it was no longer of use to you actually becomes food for the new you! So, we are building and maintaining and nurturing with Jupiter in Taurus and I think the idea of expressing thanks and gratitude for all that we have is an important part of that.

So, with that in mind…

Let’s get into… the astrology

On Wednesday, the Moon starts off in Cancer and then moves into Leo.  Before her ingress, she makes one final aspect, a trine to Neptune in Pisces at 5:11 am ET.  This is a dreamy transit that represents feeling carried away in some sort of imaginary world—it could be a really good dream, movie, book, or something magical.  The challenge here would be to try to keep anchored in reality and not let yourself get so carried away that you end up lost at sea.  So, enjoy the things that feel in alignment and try not to worry too much about the things that are still adjusting.

At 10:34 am ET, the Moon makes her ingress into the sign of Leo and now she is co-present with Mars, who she will meet later in the day, so the temperature is turned up big time!

The Moon in Leo is hot, fiery, and dramatic.  She wants all the drama that life has to offer and she wants to have a good time consuming it!  She wants to be in the spotlight showcasing her creativity, youthful childlike attitude toward life, and her ability to light up a room, and have fun!

Immediately upon her ingress at 11:03 am ET, she will oppose Pluto in Aquarius.  This is like a dark spot on the Sun—it’s cavernous, inky, and very, very hot.  This could feel like whatever jolts you’ve been experiencing over the past week or so with the Jupiter, Pluto, and Mars T-Square, this is like really bringing it home—like pressing in on a wound that hasn’t quite fully healed yet.

Ancient astrologers said that all the planetary influences have to come through the sphere of the Moon and so now—the Moon is going through all of these transits that Jupiter, Pluto, and Mars just went through, and seeing how she feels about the new world that has emerged.  Her first experience is the opposition to Pluto bringing up really deep feelings that need to come out—then at 2:12 pm ET she will form a square to Jupiter, followed by her conjunction to Mars at 3:20 pm ET—she is experiencing all of this simultaneous deepening and expanding happening, but from the same position as Mars in Leo. It’s not an easy thing for the Moon to experience, but she has courage, self-confidence, and knows her worth, so she can handle it. That’s how we have to be too: courageous, self-confident, and respectful.

In the early evening on Wednesday, the Moon forms a sextile to the Sun in Gemini and then squares the North and South Nodes—representing a feeling of harmony with the facts and the direction things are going, but also the feeling that destiny and fate are at work.

Then Wednesday night, between 7 pm and 9:18 pm, the Sun will semisquare Chiron; Venus will then square Chiron, and then the Sun will quincunx the South Node in Scorpio—this feels to me like the realization that there are vulnerabilities and places within ourselves that need to heal in regard to our motivations, our relationships, and values, and letting go of feeling like we need to have some sort of immediate gratification with these things, but instead accepting that the changes that are occurring in our lives have their own divine timing.

On Thursday…

The Moon will be in Leo all day long.  She starts her day with a quincunx to Saturn in Pisces and this feels like we are seeking a change or separation from some sort of limiting belief about ourselves or our environment.

At 5:05 am ET on Thursday the sun in Gemini forms a semisquare to Venus in Cancer, indicating a desire to feel comfortable with all the thoughts, facts, and data that we have collected about a given situation.

Shortly after that at 6:10 am ET, the Moon in Leo perfects a square to Mercury in Taurus.  The Moon and Mercury in a square configuration represent having a needed conversation and it could be dramatic with the Moon in Leo.  There could be things that are immovable or unable to be changed that are the topics of discussion.  Try to think before you speak, have patience with those you are talking to, and avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.

In the evening the Moon forms a sesquiquadrate to Neptune in Pisces and a trine to Chiron in Aries between 11:23 pm and 11:59 pm ET.  The Moon and Neptune bring up feelings of uncertainty and the Moon and Chiron can bring up doubts about our identities, or the places within ourselves that we feel are damaged or have been traumatized.  The harmonious trine aspect can be positive, but it can also represent feelings coming out easily and without being blocked, so I think with the other transits of the day; the Moon square Mercury and the Sun semisquare Venus, this last transit may be more like we are able to easily get out what we feel and want to say, and it’s important to communicate it freely.

Let’s move on to the card for the day:

What is the guidance for today?

2 of Wands

On this card, we see a man, dressed in a red robe and cap, standing within the comfort of his castle, looking out over the vast terrain—the sea and mountains.  He is holding a sprouted wand in his left hand and a globe of the world in his right, symbolizing that he has the whole world in his hands.  Behind his right side, stands another sprouted wand.

The 2 of Wands is a card about planning, decision-making, progression, and innovation—taking the spark that was lit in the Ace of Wands, and deciding how to go about implementing those ideas.  You may be thinking of new experiences, directions, or long-term goals, and so you are taking stock of what you already have and what you need to acquire before taking the first step.

Because the man on this card is still safely in his castle, he is not ready to set out yet.  So, this card may be indicating that there is still so much more to plan and establish before making your move.  There are more things to discover before you step outside your place of comfort and experience the new world.

The twos in the Tarot usually represent having to make a choice between two things and this is true with the 2 of Wands as well.  You may be deciding between this and that, there or here, or staying conservative and safe, or being daring and taking a risk.  It will take courage to explore your options, but this card is an indication that the whole world is in your hands right now and all you have to do is have the confidence that everything will turn out for the best.

Everything happens for a reason, as they say, so trust your intuition and your passion for life to guide you as you make your plans.

If this card speaks to a long-term decision that you are pondering, a career switch, an educational goal, or a long-distance trip—this means that now is the time for careful planning and realistic considerations.  Set yourself up for success by being prepared.

The planning stage that this card represents could keep you up at night—so it may be a good idea to write a list of the facts.  We are in Gemini season, after all, so making a list of the known facts and the unknown facts may be very helpful, especially with the Moon trine Neptune energy of Wednesday—where we can get a little lost in the fantasy—a good old-fashioned list may be all that is required to stay grounded in the here and now.
