Okay, let’s get into… the astrology

(All times are in Easter Time (ET) unless mentioned otherwise)

I’ve boiled down the transits for the next two days to what I think are the most potent. So, today’s post will be a little bit more bite-sized and hopefully easier to swallow.

Today the Moon will ingress into Sagittarius at 10:05 am.

I had to stop writing for a moment and make myself a toasted bagel with chevre on it.  I like to mix my chevre with a little bit of water to make it fluffy and easily spreadable and as I was spreading the goat cheese onto my bagel I was thinking about the day’s transits—the upcoming harsh Moon square Saturn followed by the Sun trine Pluto tomorrow—and I realized something about the Sagittarius Moon—she softens the hardness of life, just like the chevre cushions the scratchy crunch of the bagel.  It smooths over each bite so that the jagged edge of the bread doesn’t cut my tender gums.  The Sagittarius Moon lightens things up with humor, faith, and belief in something bigger than ourselves and a nice layer of hope that pads the crusty truth.

Now, Sagittarius can also be really blunt and just say it like they think it is— “This bagel is dry, hard, brittle!”  But she also mitigates that with laughter, hope, and honesty.  “Ha, Ha! This bagel is so dry, we need something moist and warm to go with it—some aged goat’s milk should do the trick!” She exclaims with a big grin that is so infectious, that we can’t help but get excited about the creamy cheese too!

We may feel today that life is harsh, unforgiving, or limited in some way and we may want to throw out the bagel, saying “It’s too hard! I can’t eat it!” But I would challenge you to find a different solution.  What can you add to your hard life that would bring in a little softness, a little humor, a little hope?  Have you truly explored all that you have at your disposal?  Did you already look in your fridge and think to yourself, “Bah!  That chevre is so crumbly, it will just fall right off!  I hate dealing with chevre!” when all it would take is adding a little bit of water, a little bit of imagination, a little bit of creative thinking to make it easily spreadable.  Where in your life have you been blocking yourself?  The Sagittarius Moon gives us hope and helps us come up from the depths of the Scorpio Moon, in the “emotion ocean,” to get some air, some light, and some distance from our troubles.

The square to Saturn tests our strength, and our abilities to solve problems with hope and humor rather than stubbornness and contempt.

On Thursday…

The Moon is in spontaneous, hopeful, and adventurous Sagittarius all day.

The Sun in practical, analytical, and methodical Virgo perfects his trine to Pluto in Capricorn retrograde who has traveled back to 27°, hitting America’s natal Pluto again, at 1:20 am.  Pluto in Capricorn is trying to transform the structures, goals, and resources that we depend on in our lives into more efficient ones.

This transit speaks to something that was blocking the path, some sort of hidden thing that was causing you pain, is suddenly removed and the energy is able to flow freely again!

It’s like when a tooth breaks, but shards of it are still hidden beneath the surface, and when they begin to emerge they cause pain and swelling, but then one day, they just come out and all the tenderness is immediately relieved!  That is what this transit may bring up, something hard and hidden like the piece of a tooth, spontaneously releasing itself, and all the worry, pain, and struggle is promptly gone! This may be especially potent for Aries and Libra rising signs as the Sun is traveling through your sixth or twelfth houses, respectively, and is illuminating things that are causing you stress and hopefully also bringing some relief.

At 5:12 am the Moon in Sagittarius forms a square to Mercury in Virgo and this feels like having conversations about what this Mercury retrograde was all about for you.

For me, it was about dishes.  The most notable thing that I reflected upon and changed in my home life was how many dishes we have and who washes them.  I’m sure you can imagine how many dishes a family of seven, five of which are kids, can make in a day!  Too many!  So, we decided to reduce the load by everyone having their own set of dishes: a large and small plate, a bowl, a mug, and a glass, and in addition to the reduced tableware, each person is responsible for washing their own set, except of course our youngest, who is not capable of fully taking responsibility of her own dishes yet; she still needs a lot of help and supervision when washing things.

This has been amazing!  There are so many fewer dishes to wash which has significantly reduced the amount of time I personally have to spend doing this chore!  As a Sagittarius with a Gemini rising, honestly, the last thing I want to do is dishes!

Anyway, what things did you reflect upon during the Mercury retrograde?  What methods, structures, tasks, chores, systems, or groups of little things did you think about?  Did you make any changes?  Did you implement a new system or schedule?

Today’s transit, the Moon in square to Mercury, may bring up those things and adjustments may need to be made to the new flow.  I know for me, this will most definitely be a talk to my family about continuing to take part in their dish nights, because even though everyone is washing their own table set, I still need help with the inevitable pots and pans!

The Moon and Mercury in a square can also generally indicate a time when miscommunications are more possible, so be aware of that and think before you speak.

After the Moon makes her square to Mercury early in the morning on Tuesday, she then forms a sextile to Mars in Libra at 4:12 pm and then a trine to Venus in Leo at 6:25 pm.  This seems like things are taking shape, and getting done, and everyone is happy about it.  There’s a high possibility to make the day’s activities fair and just and then the evening could be filled with pleasant interactions, feel-good feelings, and beautiful, harmonious, and delightful conversations, meals, and evening activities.

Let’s move on to the card for the day:

What is the guidance for today?

XXII The Well ~ Reversed

This deck has 24 Major Arcana, instead of the traditional 22, “The Well,” being one of the author/artist’s own additions.

On this card we see a woman sitting down by a stone well.  She is peering into the well and holding in her left hand a crystal pendulum.  From the pendulum, a blue ribbon of energy flows.  Behind the woman and the well is the side of a mountain and in the distance, a calm sea can be seen.

“The Well” represents Gaia, the birthplace of ideas, inspiration, and transformation.  The creative force in the Universe—and those who seek her knowledge are given it freely, for it flows like water into a well for the taking.

In the reversed position it means that you are feeling stagnant- like knowledge or ideas are not flowing freely to you.  There’s a block in the stream, something in the way of the connection.  Or it could mean that a connection you once had is ending, becoming cold, or drying up.

It could also indicate that the well is inside your own heart, rather than a separate place located outside of yourself.  Look within for the inspiration you seek.

Another interpretation could be that you are inspired, have an idea, or have come upon some knowledge and you are keeping it private, holding it close to yourself and not sharing it with others.  This card is an invitation to evaluate that to see if that is the most beneficial choice or if it may be time to share your ideas, inspiration, or new insights with someone else at this time.

Tying this in with the transits, this could be about how you are blocking yourself, as we discussed with the Moon square Saturn and subsequent Sun trine Pluto—stop blocking yourself, and allow yourself to be open to new possibilities.  Imagine what life would be like if you actually said yes to the things you’ve been repeatedly saying no to.  It doesn’t mean you have to actually do them, but it may be a helpful exercise to imagine what would happen if you did— and you may learn something new about yourself that you didn’t know!

What if I repeatedly kept denying myself chevre because it was too much work to mix with a little water and instead opted for no bagel at all because it would be hard and scratchy? As a bagel-lover, I can tell you, I’d be missing out! With a little creativity and a willingness to let go of being stubborn about something, the energy usually starts to flow and we are pleasantly surprised!
