Good morning, friends!
So, my three youngest kids are still sick, but they are on the mend and feeling better! My go-to tools for helping them recover are essential oils, Vitamin C, decaf Green Tea, and Zinc. A super immune-boosting combination that works like magic! But, enough about that…
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
Well, not much is perfecting today, but the Moon is changing signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn at 2:11 pm ET. So, we could feel a shift today from the hopeful, optimistic, big-picture attitude of Sagittarius to the “let’s get down to business” attitude of Capricorn. Before the Moon leaves Sagittarius she makes a sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, so this is a positive thing that I feel is us getting a plan of action together that will meet our goals for the future and also support our needs in the present.
Now that Mercury in Capricorn is direct, we can start to initiate our ideas and put things into action. We still have some obstacles to overcome or hurdles to remove, but our sails are full and we are starting to move, slowly but surely.
Once the Moon makes her ingress into Capricorn she will be in the sign of her detriment and also enter the balsamic phase, the dark moon phase, as she approaches the New Moon which will happen on Saturday at 3:53 pm ET at 01°Aquarius 32’. This is also the day before the Chinese New Year when we will be welcoming the Year of the Rabbit! If you’d like to know more about the Chinese New Year, click here.
Uranus in Taurus is still retrograde, but only for a few more days. He will station direct on Sunday, January 22, 2023. After he stations direct, all the planets will be in direct motion! When Uranus stations direct, there is often a dramatic shift that can be either felt in one’s own life or on the world stage. Uranus stationed direct last year on January 20, 2022, so think back to what dramatic shifts were going on in your personal life back then. Uranus is at 14° Taurus, so if you have any planet in your natal chart that falls near the 14th degree or the 29th degree (29 being the degree where we would find semisquares or sesquiquadrates to Uranus) then you may feel this direct station more than others.

What is the guidance for today?
The Knight of Swords
The Knight of Swords represents someone on a mission. As you can see in the symbolism in this card, the Knight is on his horse, holding his sword high, ready to charge forth! The stormy clouds in the background represent the changes that are occurring in his environment.
As the guidance for the day, I feel that this symbolizes the changes that are occurring, not only in our environments but in our thinking. We are mentally ready to move forward, maybe even a little hastily, so although this eagerness for things to change is positive, double-checking on things before you make new commitments may be a wise choice.
On the weekend, Venus in Aquarius will conjoin Saturn in Aquarius and this upcoming transit is going to test our adulting skills, our ability to respond to things, and our ability to plan things outs—so, pairing this upcoming transit with the wisdom of the Knight of Swords, I feel that this means to try not to wing it today and instead take a moment to make sure that whatever you are taking action on is aligning with your long-term mission—the timing is important and I think that may be the main message of this card for today.
