Over the weekend, the California-Oregon border fire, now called the McKinney Fire, exploded and became the state’s largest fire this year, burning over 52,000 acres in just three days since it started. By Sunday evening it was 0% contained.
“In 22+ yrs of fire I’ve never experienced anything like this fire behavior at night. It felt absolutely surreal and not just a little apocalyptic.” Oregon state Rep. Dacia Grayber tweeted.
And, the fires are creating their own weather because they are making pyrocumulus clouds!
Mars: hot, dry, explosive + Uranus: surprising, erratic, and out of the ordinary + North Node: amping up the energies = a fire, behaving differently, spreading rapidly, making its own weather system! You can’t make this stuff up!
Today is a big day, astrologically. I’ve been saying it for the last week or so.
We have Mars, Uranus, and the North Node all at 18 degrees of Taurus today, which hasn’t happened since 1855.
And we have the Moon in Virgo, as well as Mercury in Leo making a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces.
Moon in Virgo gives us the energy to get up and start being productive. We want to clean our house, tend to our gardens, organize the cabinets in our kitchen, etc…but Virgo is also a mutable sign which means that during this time, we are able to integrate impossible energies together in a way that is helpful and useful.
Virgo is like resetting your guest bedroom after a guest has been in it—washing the sheets, dusting the surfaces, opening the windows to clear out the old air, and then making the bed with fresh linens, spraying a nicely scented room spray, and putting out a fresh vase of flowers—so that the room is ready for the next guest. Virgo moon time is like Martha Stewart time—clean and organize and reset everything.
Virgo season is the time of year at the last harvest—picking the last of the fruits and veggies and then clearing out the beds and mulching (or whatever gardeners do) to get ready for fall and winter. (If you’re a gardening pro— What do you do at the end of the season to “put your garden to bed” for the winter? I’d love to know in the comments. That way I’ll know what to do this year!)
Mercury in Leo making a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces is a time of change and separation. This could be the end of feeling deceived in some way or the end of a period of disillusionment. Our heads could be feeling a little foggy in all the chaos, and this energy will give us the brilliant idea to get out of the situation that is making the mental waters murky, so we can see clearly again.
Now, back to the Mars, Uranus, North Node conjunction…
I want to briefly outline the areas of life that each Sun or Rising sign may feel this transit, in one sentence or so. This next section will make the most sense if you read your rising sign. If you don’t know your rising sign, you can go here to calculate your birth chart and find out or leave a comment and I will help you!
Remember when you read your sign that we are talking about Mars and Uranus energies coming together, so these are things like: accidents, arguments, people who are angry or have aggressive speech; unexpected and sudden events, quirky individuals, or things that involve technology, the internet, or natural disasters. Those are just a few of the many possibilities as to how this energy could manifest in your life.
Aries—This may affect your financial security and possessions, stemming from how you see the world, your own health and wellness, and your shared resources.
Taurus—How you see the world may go through a dramatic shift; your appearance may change in some way. This may feel like it is coming out of nowhere, or a hidden desire may come up, or a relationship may change, either breaking up suddenly or coming together.
Gemini—Something unexpected that was hidden or an underlying health issue may come up, taking you by surprise. This could also involve your friends or your audience in some way.
Cancer—Something unexpected involving your friends or the people you talk to at work could come up that affects your career or your family.
Leo—Something sudden that affects your career could happen that seems to come from your past, your beliefs, or your home life in some way or vice versa.
Virgo—An unexpected trip or breakthrough in beliefs, stemming from a change in support or a change in your local community.
Libra—A sudden shift in shared resources that comes from a relationship or business partnership and affects your own finances.
Scorpio—Something that has to do with your relationships, partnerships, or dealings with other people that unexpectedly comes up and changes the way you view the world or your day-to-day job. A sudden lost pet, as well.
Sagittarius—An unexpected event at your job or in regards to what you do all day that has to do with family or a hidden issue. Could also involve pets.
Capricorn—Something coming up about family, children, pregnancies, or your creative projects, that takes you by surprise, stemming from social activities or homelife activities.
Aquarius—Something happening at home or in your private life that creates a foundational shift, and affects your career or vice versa. Your siblings or local community may be involved as well.
Pisces—A change that involves your siblings, your community, or the way you communicate with others, that also is tied to your financial situation and your belief systems, in some way.
I hope this little run-down gives you some ideas of where to expect this transit to take place in your own lives. If you’d like to go deeper into your own chart and how the transits are affecting you, I would love to help with that! Click on the link below to find the reading that is right for you.
The card for the day is:
6 Saturn ~ Truth
Saturn brings restriction and the feeling of being checked by an authority figure. We may feel penalized or jailed in some way right now.
Through these disappointments and harsh cirucmstances, we are given a test of courage, strength, and diligence. Saturn represents working hard for something that is slow to show the rewards but in the end will be worth all the sacrifice. Through life-shattering experiences, we grow as souls. Saturn is the great teacher of truth, cutting away any disillusionment in our lives.
This is a hard card to pull, in that it represents going through a great challenge right now, but it’s a reminder that our hard work and perserverance will pay off in the end.
Today (or this week, or month) may be tough, really tough, but keep pushing, keep striving for greatness, and don’t give up. Things will get easier.
I would love to hear from you!
I wish you all the best day!
I hope this horoscope and card reading are helpful!
Until tomorrow,
