Good morning, friends!
Welcome to September! As my teacher, The Leo King, always says, on the first day of the month, “Rabbit Rabbit!” I am excited to start this new month. I have missed writing the daily horoscope every day, so it feels good to get back into the swing of things!
I have a New Client Two Reading Special going on, where you get two chart readings, a Natal and a Solar return, for a discounted price! You can find a link to that special at the bottom of the newsletter.

Okay, now let’s get into…the astrology.
Rember that scene in the second Jurassic Park movie, The Lost World, where the T-Rex is brought to the mainland from the island on a ship but ends up breaking out and causing a bunch of ruckus in San Diego? Thankfully, Malcolm and Sarah are able to get the dinosaur back on the ship and returned to the island before too many lives are lost. Well, I think that is what September is going to be like, and the reason I am thinking this is because of one transit that is really shading the whole month— the last square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. I am not saying that it’s going to be quite that dire, but it could feel kind of like a sci-fi thriller, metaphorically, at least.
These two planets started squaring each other in December of 2020 and had a nice little tango full of tension all last year in 2021, but this is their final square before they move far enough away from each other to stop shattering our reality.
We’ll start out September with Saturn and Uranus only 1° and 42’ apart—Saturn at 20° and 36’ and Uranus 18° 53’. Over the course of the month, they get closer and closer to the square point, both ending at 18°—Saturn at 18° 58’ and Uranus at 18° 20’. It’s not too far after the end of September, on October 3rd, that they are the closest they will get to the square—at only 37’ away, so the square never perfects down to the exact astronomical minute—in Astrology, this is important—but all of September they are within orb of each other, and we will be feeling their effects.
Saturn wants structure and tradition, and Uranus wants freedom and to break away from convention— so put these two together and you have a T-Rex breaking out of the ship’s hold and running amuck around the city!—but remember, Malcolm and Sarah are able to shoot the T-Rex with a tranquilizer and get it back on the ship. It’s like a colossal disaster that is averted, and I feel that since the square between these two planets will not be perfecting to the exact minute, we may have a glimpse of how our world could get turned upside down— but then something comes in and saves the day!
So, here comes our first Knight in Shining Armor of the month-- on September 1st Mars in Gemini will be forming a sextile with Jupiter in Aries—this energy brings help, aid, relief, and support to the situation. Since this is a sextile between the Yang energies of Air and Fire, this is an opportunity that falls into our laps and we better take it! It’s like when Sarah in the movie gets a clear shot to shoot the T-Rex and doesn’t hesitate! It will be just what we need to deal with the underlying energy of Saturn square Uranus.
This beneficial sextile between Mars and Jupiter will be felt over the weekend and into next week, so whatever form this support comes in for you—be on the lookout, and accept the help. You may need it to get through the month.
Our second Knight in Shining Armor is a beautiful trine between Mercury in Libra and Mars in Gemini—did you ever see the movie Zathura, where the two brothers end up playing a Jumanji-like game, and one of the first cards that the boys get says, “Take Evasive Action,” but the young boy doesn’t quite know how to read it and he yells, “Take Erasive Action!”?
According to the Driver’s Education website, “An evasive action is a fast and effective maneuver made intentionally to avoid colliding with a person, another vehicle, or an object.”
I feel that this transit is like that! It’s time to take evasive action and with the trine between Mercury and Mars, that will be possible.
The Moon in Scorpio on Thursday will also be making a sextile to the Sun and then conjoining the South Node at the very last degree of the Via Combusta, the “burned road,” at 15° Scorpio. So, the morning could start off feeling pretty good, maybe you had a really nice dream last night, or something. By the evening, the Moon will oppose Uranus and square Saturn, joining in the fun with that T-Rex energy.
At the same time that this epic dinosaur movie is happening all around us, Venus in Leo is still in the midst of the fated YOD energy with Neptune and Pluto.
So, all this energy could manifest in a bazillion different ways, and obviously, we are not all involved in science fiction movies, so please leave a comment and let us all know what manifests for you!
The Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus will affect you more if you have planets in the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius. For example, my natal Uranus and Mercury are conjunct in Scorpio, square transiting Saturn and within orb of an opposition to Uranus (my exact Uranus opposition is next year—this is one of the major transits that we all go through around mid-life), so Saturn and Uranus are forming a T-Square with my natal Mercury/Uranus conjunction—fun! What about you?
Alright, let’s pick a card…
The card for the day is:
IV The Emperor~Reversed
The Emperor, upright, fundamentally has to do with personal power and leadership, so in the reversed position, it signifies feeling like you have no power or you are not in a leadership position in your own life.
It could also signify a time of endings or beginnings and of moving forward, or in this case, not moving forward because of fear. If this applies to you, here are some positive affirmations to use when the Emperor comes up (from the Tarot Handbook by Angeles Arrien):
I enjoy starting and initiating projects.
I value and honor my leadership ability.
I am a good facilitator.
I am a responsible and creative human being.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Please leave another comment!
I hope this is helpful!
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
