How Do The Stars Speak?

How Do The Stars Speak?
By AstroMommy
How do the stars speak when one is born
and then departs?
In which direction does the melody go?
Dissonant chords create a tension in the heart
Relaxed by the consonant ones that follow.
A baby’s first breath
Elicits a startle and then a cry
A sound melodious to the mother
The effluent milk fills her bosom—no longer dry
Then baby to breast creates a love unlike any other.
But how do the stars speak
of such a union?
As the planets across the sky do traipse…
Conjunct, sextile, square, trine, opposition
To which aspect can birth or death be retraced?
A man’s last breath that he takes
Be it sudden, labored, or at peace
Does evade my current star music techniques
The errand of figuring out the melody sheet
Like tracing an impossible-to-trace hacker—it is oblique.
Just as the union of mother and baby
Cannot be captured with words alone
Strong feelings and images must accompany
Even in the most beautiful prose shone
Pictures dance upon our hearts involuntarily.
Like running into a dwelling
when rain threats
Yet we can’t help ourselves but look
At the gory dance between lightning and thunder sets
As they break and crack open the sky like a book.
The persecution of the astral omen diviners
By the religion of Science
Has tried to separate the night from the stars
The Earth from it’s inhabitants
Made birth and death as the opening and closing of doors.
Is that the way the music is played?
One door opens to your life on Earth
And another closes and locks you out?
Dissonant chord, consonant chord at birth?
Dissonant chord, consonant chord, blackout?
My sweaty hands do tremble
at the thought
That the Cosmos would sell-out and evacuate her womb
Like an abortion clinic being bought
By a sadistic tycoon
I think beginning and end and middle
are a more elastic tale
Like a glissando in a tune
Sliding up and down the scale
Like a sultry jazz band playing in the afternoon.
But how to read the language of the stars
To predict accurately
the beginning or the end
Is a knowledge with great responsibility
and one you can’t rescind
For if you crack the code
It’s like peeing in a pool
You’ll never get to be ignorant again
Is that the true meaning of the “golden” rule?
Having the courage to swim amidst the colorful urine?
For now, I will be content to just listen to the music
Made by the stars
a lullaby in harmony
My soul dancing to the beat--bar after bar
A beautiful, never-ending, celestial melody.
I do not think the Cosmos cast us all out
To fend for ourselves
Leaving us alone, tired, and abandoned
I think the Cosmos is always there, singing to us sweetly from shells
Loving us with her whispers… we need only to be quiet and listen…
Dissonant Chord…
Consonant Chord…
Beginning,
middle,
end,
repeat…
