Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
I forgot to mention yesterday (thank you migraine) that the Moon in Capricorn made a square to the nodes from the Southern Bending. Whenever the Moon squares the nodes, concrete events happen that set certain things in motion or significantly impact the trajectory of your life. Did anything happen yesterday that was an internal, private, or personal event that impacted your life in a big way? I would love to know!
Today, the Moon is still in Capricorn where she is reasonable, realistic, and resourceful, but she will move into Aquarius by late morning. She is in her detriment in Capricorn because it is the furthest sign from Cancer, her home; therefore she is less nurturing and mothering and more business-like, and goal-oriented, and a tough-love type of Moon; she gets things done. We may feel that way today as we go about our daily tasks or we may have noticed this archetypal influence more yesterday.
Early this morning she made a trine to Jupiter in Taurus indicating something really good taking place today. Oftentimes the trines go unnoticed because they are so subtle, like driving along on the freeway all by yourself with no other cars to slow you down; things move easily along, unimpeded, and joyously. So, the Moon in trine with Jupiter represents happy experiences with family, friends, lovers, spouses, and others in general. Jupiter in Taurus also boosts the Moon’s confidence, since he is in the sign of her exaltation, and so we too may feel uplifted, optimistic, and rewarded for our efforts.
The Moon in Capricorn is on her way to forming two sextiles back to back, first to Neptune in Pisces and then to Mars in Pisces, right before Mars transitions into the next sign, his home, Aries.
Moon sextile Neptune and Mars could feel as if the angels from the heavens are smiling at you. You feel courageous and able to respond quickly and effortlessly to your environment, and your leadership skills are shining.
At 11:19 am ET, the Moon moves out of traditional Capricorn and into progressive Aquarius. What areas of your life need improvement so that they are better for everyone? Is it putting the toilet paper supply in a closer container to the toilet so everyone who needs a roll can reach a roll? Is it dividing up the housekeeping chores more equally so that no one person is bogged down with them all? Is it purchasing one of those handy toothpaste tube squeezy things so that the toothpaste tube doesn’t end up looking like a gnarly twisted tree limb covered in a gunky, funky mess? These are the important types of questions the Moon in Aquarius is eager to find solutions for and not just because she may benefit from them, but because they will improve the quality of life of those she cares for.
At 11:32 am ET Mars, the god of war, enters his home sign of Aries. Mars governs force, initiative, action, male sexuality, anger, and conflict, and can represent the driving force within a person that often represents who, where, and what they are willing to fight for. In Aries, this means we are willing to fight for our freedoms, and our ability to be independent and move, lead, and go forth. In Pisces, Mars was a spiritual warrior; in Aries Mars is more like an actual physical warrior. He is an active pioneer, an individual full of passion, aggression, and desire who wants to take the world by storm and cleave his way forward, not really concerned with who gets left behind in the process because the focus is on himself. Mars also helps us identify ourselves, connect with our egoic drives, and take action on things in our lives that support said identity.
Mars in Aries is able to carry out what he naturally wants to do because being in his home sign he is empowered, fueled up, and ready to fight the battle!
Now we have Venus and Mars both in their home signs, Venus in Taurus and Mars in Aries. This is a powerful combination and means that we are able to more easily attract prosperous and beautiful things into our lives and then take right action on them. The Aries and Taurus houses of your charts are being activated and fueled by powerful and strong energies and you may feel a boost in those houses.
Later this afternoon the Moon in Capricorn perfects a square to Venus in Taurus indicating a bit of tension in the home, in your love life, or financially. Something may come up that you have to actively deal with and since the Moon is in Aquarius and Venus is in Taurus it could be about finding a solution to something mundane as I mentioned before. It could involve the women in your life or a family member or friend. Maybe you don’t feel like cooking dinner and you decide to eat out and there’s a bit of a back-and-forth about which restaurant to go to.
Five minutes after this, the Moon will form a semisquare to Saturn in Pisces and then an hour later conjoin Pluto followed by Venus perfecting a semisquare to Saturn as well. If we are talking about something as insignificant as choosing the restaurant to go to because you don’t want to cook, then this may be coupled with some dietary limitations or restrictions that you or the other person feels a bit vulnerable about revealing and sharing.
When the Moon meets up with Pluto it can be scary because we emotionally feel exposed. On the other hand, it can be powerfully healing because it represents a catharsis and a renewal on the deepest level.
Venus is only 1° away from perfecting a square to Pluto which will happen tomorrow, May 1, 2024, so there is a deep healing taking place. Venus brings nourishment, and in a square to Pluto from her home sign of Taurus, this is like a life-giving spring rain that nurtures the baby plants and satiates the vibrant flowers so that when the sun shines they are stronger and brighter. Maybe our souls have been parched and now we are feeling the cooling, life-affirming effects of gentle Venus, kissing the earth at our feet and making all the plants and flowers grow.
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
