Word List Poems are a lot more fun when you get to help create the list!
Each new word list is generated on the New Moon, and due on the Full Moon. So, let’s start now, and then I will post the finished list on the next New Moon! We have two weeks to generate a list of 15 words—should be easy, right?
Here’s how I usually do it:
I create each word list using this little technique: I look in a book or magazine to get the first word, and once I have that, the rest is pretty easy. Each following word has to start with the letter that the previous word ended with. So, for example, in Word List #1 the first word was, “Moon,” and the next word was, “not” because it started with the last letter of “Moon,” and so on and so forth! I continue until I reach 15 words.
Instead, let’s make the list together! I will start us off with the first word and then, in the comments, you post a word that starts with the letter at the end of my word (number it, please).
The next person, in the comments, will post the next word that starts with the letter the previous word ended with and the next number, so we don’t get confused, okay?
The only rule is that you can’t post two words in a row, so if Billy Bob follows me for word number two, Billy Bob can’t add word number three, he has to wait until someone else has added word number three and then he can add another word. This will ensure that others get to add words and that there’s a little variety.
If you want to add a word and there are already a few words added, find the last numbered word posted, and add your word after that one. The numbering will make all the difference and ensure that this works!
We will stop at 15 words!
Let’s give it a try…

Hint: The next word should be numbered, “2,” and start with “s.”
Here’s how it works,

2. The first person to comment can add the next word, using the last letter from Mozey's word.
Ie. 2. Startle
3. The following commenter adds #3 the same way, and so on, till we reach 15 words!
4. Please let others have a chance to participate- don’t follow your own word with another.
5. Thanks for playing with us!
