Good morning, friends!
Not to sound like a broken record, but if you missed the update to my posting schedule, please be aware that I am temporarily posting only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays as I prepare for this homeschool year. Regular daily horoscopes will resume on September 1st. I have also put the 5-Day Weekly forecast on hold during this time, and honestly, I am not missing it, so if you are, please let me know that it is important to you and I will make every effort to add it to my writing schedule, but if I do not hear from anyone about it, I am pretty certain I will be letting it go for the duration of the school year.
You can reply to this newsletter, or send me a private email if you have any comments or questions about this.
Also, a quick shop update: All twelve zodiac patches, designed by my talented daughter, Kaliandra, are now available in our family Etsy shop: Metaphysical Flamingo. Please check them out and give them a like! It really helps our shop get noticed. Thanks!
And, remember if you would like to have your natal chart read, I have a New Client Two Reading Special going on where you get both your natal chart and a solar return chart reading at a special discounted price. You can check out the details for that by clicking on the link above, at the bottom of the newsletter, or in the description box of the YouTube video.
Okay, now let’s get into…the astrology.
“A Gemini Moon is like living with a three-year-old who’s constantly tiptoeing into your room at night and asking if you’re awake.” ~Christopher Renstrom
I love that image…did the Gemini Moon energy keep you awake last night? I actually had a hard time quieting my mind so that I could fall into a peaceful slumber. I gave myself dream homework and I am pretty sure that I did it— I just can’t remember!
The night before last, I did have a dream about a poisonous snake slithering into the living room of my old house. I looked at the colored rings on the snake, and said aloud the rhyme, “Red next to black: venom lack. Red next to yellow: kill a fellow.” The others who were in the living room and I realized it was a deadly coral snake and we needed to get it out of the house! The snake turned and went down the hallway, and as it did so, I closed the doors to the bedrooms so that it couldn’t go into them. Then, somehow we got it to go outside onto the back porch (which wasn’t there in real life) and down the stairs to the yard below. I was trying to secure the gate to the stairs and block it somehow so that it couldn’t get back up, but couldn’t figure out how.
But, last night, I have no idea what I dreamed about. I went to sleep thinking about astrology and doing math in my head. I gave myself the homework of having an amazing dream that would end up being the best first line of today’s newsletter. It’s those first lines that always seem so daunting every morning.
Hence the funny quote about the Gemini Moon energy—leave it to someone else’s witty words to start us off—it’s actually very Gemini-Moon of me to do this!
The Moon is in Gemini and won’t go into Cancer until Sunday evening at 8:28 PM ET. This Gemini energy will bring out our talkative, analytical, and curious sides. This is a fun pairing with the Leo Sun, as it makes conversating, socializing, and mingling a little easier.
This is the last weekend of the Sun in Leo, because come Monday night, the Sun will ingress into Virgo. This is also the last fire sign the Sun will be in until we get to Sagittarius season, starting in November, so this bright, happy, joyful Leo energy needs to carry us through, for three months before we get another boost.
So, this weekend could feel like we are adding a bunch of wood to the campfire because we need it to keep burning through the night! We do need to be careful not to set the whole woods on fire, though.
By the time you are reading this newsletter, Mars has ingressed into Gemini, a much better placement than the slow, earthy energy of Taurus, where Mars was in his detriment. The Mars in Gemini energy brings a more competitive edge to the game: outtalking, outsmarting, and calling other people out on their crap. This new Mars energy could bring out people’s feisty, fighting, and argumentative sides. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, and now the dispositor of Mars, wasn’t called the “Master of Arguments” for nothing, in ancient astrology—so be prepared to have more debates and experience more conversations with “devil’s advocates” during this time. Mars has been stuck in the quicksand of Taurus for the last month and a half, and now, finally, can move his feet (and his mouth) now that he’s in Gemini— like a boxer, getting ready for that first hit, bouncing around on his feet, so that he is ready to dodge or to deliver the strike.
Mercury in Virgo is now reaching the 24th degree and entering the Mercury retrograde shadow period— this means that we are getting a glimpse into what issues, challenges, or lessons this next Mercury retrograde will bring up in our lives. Mercury is also opposing Neptune in Pisces on Sunday at 3:40 AM ET, so this energy will be felt all weekend.
Mercury in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces could bring up a lot of reality vs. fantasy situations, like people on drugs, alcohol, or being intoxicated in some way. So, be on the lookout for drunk drivers, especially with the Mars in Gemini energy—we could see more car accidents or transportation accidents, in general. Just this morning, I saw a news report about two small airplanes that collided in Watsonville, CA, so just be careful whatever way you decide to get around, and drive defensively—you may be a great driver, but there are literally “road-ragers” and “space cadets” out there operating vehicles, so be careful with this transit!
It’s easy to feel confused, misguided, or gullible with this transit, so just hang in there!
On a positive note, Mercury opposite Neptune energy could deliver some messages from the divine, or a sense of precognition that may be enlightening.
My teacher, Acyuta-bhava Das, made a video on his YouTube channel, called, “Whoops! I’m in another dimension: Mercury opposing Neptune,” sharing three stories from his own life during Mercury/Neptune transits, that is worth watching if you’re curious, and want more information about how these energies can show up in your own life.
On Sunday night, the Moon will move into Cancer and our focus will come back home, as we recuperate from the social, buzz-worthy weekend.
So, have fun, just be cautious!
The card for the weekend is:
Venus is the planet of love, relationships, beauty, and money--the good things in life. Focus on Venusian things this weekend— things that taste good, smell good, and feel good— like yummy food, flowers, or sensual, romantic experiences. Get a massage, or give one if you’d like. Do what you can to experience the finer things in life without guilt. Indulge in guiltless pleasures.
Also, practice diplomacy! Being tactful, and skillful in our communications with people will probably do us all good, with Mars and the Moon in Gemini, plus the Mercury opposite Neptune energies that are happening this weekend.
Do you have anything fun planned for this weekend? Any “Venusian” activities? I would love to hear about them! So, far, I have some self-care and Chinese food on the agenda, how about you? Please leave a comment!
I hope this horoscope and card reading are helpful!
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
