Happy May 1st! Last quarter Moon in Aquarius, Venus Squares Pluto, & the Knight of Swords
Daily Horoscope Check In for Wednesday, May 1, 2024
Good morning, friends!
Well, here we are May 1st, 2024! Rabbit! Rabbit! Happy May Day to those who celebrate! We made it through Mercury’s retrograde last month and the Sun square Pluto last week. Venus and Mars are both in their home signs of Taurus and Aries and all planets are direct, for the last day! Tomorrow, Pluto in Aquarius stations retrograde, the last retrograde where he will dip his big, potent toe into Capricorn, in our lives.
We started out the week with major shifts as Venus and Mars made their ingresses into Taurus and Aries and now, here we are, mid-week, and it feels like go time!
As always, here are a few reminders before we begin today’s horoscope:

Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Last night, right after midnight, Venus in Taurus perfected a square to Pluto which could’ve brought out some skeletons that we had locked up in our proverbial closets that needed airing and it could’ve been an intense evening, relationship-wise. It could’ve also been very healing and cathartic, too. Whichever way the cookie crumbled for you, I hope it was meaningful.
This morning the Moon forms her Third Quarter square to the Sun from the sign of Aquarius. The Sun in Taurus is focused on building and maintaining the ideas and projects that were started during Aries season and the Moon in Aquarius is figuring out how all of the pieces will fit together to provide a solution for everyone involved that will benefit the group as a whole. This could require compromises for some that may be uncomfortable, limiting what they are used to, and for others, this means an expansion and more of something they didn’t have before, thus equilibrium is achieved, making a homogeneous mix.
After her third quarter square to the Sun, the Moon in Aquarius will make a semisquare to Neptune in Pisces, indicating that our “ideal” reality may not be able to be achieved just yet.
This evening the Moon will form harmonious sextiles to both Mercury and Chiron in Aries which is proof that we are all trying to get along despite having individual differences.
Let’s take a deeper look at the Third Quarter Moon and then we’ll pick a card for the day.
Third Quarter Moon in Aquarius
The Third Quarter Moon phase marks a time of attentive accomplishment. Whatever mindful actions you take could be due to a situation in your life that you need to respond to or they could be because of the need to break away from a crisis. Whatever it is, it could feel really big and dramatic or it could be something mundane and easily overlooked. Both are meaningful.
You can see the Moon in Aquarius at the top of the chart, to the right making a square to the Sun in Taurus on the left side of the chart at about halfway past the 9 o’clock position.
The Moon in Aquarius is emotionally detached and somewhat scientific in her approach to life; therefore, we could feel more technical, methodical, and empirically minded. Depending on whether or not you have any planets that are touched when the Moon moves through this sign may indicate how strongly you feel the energy.
When the Moon gets to the Third Quarter phase in her cycle it is a time when we are redefining the intentions that we set during the New Moon, three weeks prior, which was the Solar Eclipse in Aries. It’s symbolic of a time in the month when you are taking stock of what you already have, re-imagining it, and turning it into something new and long-lasting.
So, what are you re-imagining? What are you tidying up? What are you digging deeper into? What are you re-focusing on? These are the types of questions you may be asking yourself during this phase of the Moon.
Briefly, below you will find the house that this Third Quarter Moon in Aquarius is occurring in, according to your rising sign. Find your rising and read the house topics associated with it. You may notice a shift or a deeper focus involving one or more of those topics.
