Good morning, friends!
Well, over the weekend we got a free piano! I am so excited about bringing more music into our homeschooling and my family life. I cast a couple of Horary charts about finding a free piano that were really interesting and fun that I plan to share in a future video on the YouTube channel. Keep your eyes out for it!
Also, yesterday, February 4, 2024, was the official second anniversary of the AstroMommy Newsletter! Yay! (Details about the current celebratory promotion and giveaway are at the bottom of the post!)
I have been thinking a lot about my plans for this next year and would love to know what you all would like to see here in this space. What would you like more of? What would make you super excited to open your email in the morning, afternoon, or evening? Please let me know in the comments! Remember, for the next week only, commenting is available for all tier levels not just paid, so please let me know your thoughts!
In the spirit of connection and community, I am going to start a chat thread here on Substack to get to know all of you! If you aren’t already receiving chat notifications, make sure you toggle them on so you can join the conversation!
Well, I am excited about this week and today starts “A whole new world!” (Did you hear the song from Aladdin in your head? I did!)
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today the Moon is in optimistic and fiery Sagittarius and starts the day off with harmonious aspects to the Nodes, indicating an inspired and harmonious flow of events today.
Mercury, the planet that governs communication, our mind, and our words entered Aquarius at 12:10 am ET late last night, early this morning, and about an hour ago conjoined Pluto in Aquarius at 00°30’.
I don’t know about you, but I woke up on fire, mentally! I have been feeling cognitively, like how Popeye looked physically after eating a can of spinach—pumped up and ready to go! Maybe it’s also the fact that all the planets are direct right now as well, so there is just no energy that is dragging ass! LOL
Mercury and Pluto together can mean many things so let’s go over some of the positive and negative testimonies of these two archetypes together.
As I said, Mercury represents our thoughts, our mental capacities, and communication, so he can symbolize finding out information in verbal, written, and/or auditory form.
Pluto is the planet of death and transformation, irrevocable change, and psychic excavation. Pluto brings out what was hidden and shows it to the world.
With the two coming together, it can signify finding out some potent, powerful news. This news could be about corruption, crime, violence, death, destruction, and/or irrevocable change. It could also be about something powerful, deep, and evocative that deepens our experience, opens our minds to new ways of thinking, or helps us see things from a new perspective. It could indicate a powerful speech that changes history, a powerful piece of music, or a technological advancement that creates a new trajectory for the future (Neurolink, anyone?). In Aquarius, this could have to do with technology, AI, medicine, science, and our natural resources like food, water, land, and labor force.
So, we may hear or see something in the news that represents information being released to the public that changes our minds, alters our way of thinking, or exposes the truth. In our personal lives this could feel like a boost to our mental, communicative, or writing capabilities—we may be able to see patterns more easily, see the things that are hidden, or intuitively know how to solve a problem.
This conjunction will most likely correspond to the house topics that Aquarius rules in your natal chart. You can find out more about that by revisiting the Horscopes for Pluto in Aquarius and reading your rising sign. Then add the archetype of Mercury, which is understanding what Pluto means in Aquarius to you through your mental awareness, thoughts, and thinking patterns, to the delineation. Could also indicate receiving a message that has to do with the house topics that Aquarius rules in your chart. If you need help with this, schedule a reading! I would be more than happy to help you unravel this.
Later this afternoon the Moon in Sagittarius forms a quincunx to Uranus in Taurus indicating something suddenly surprising us that feels a lot like a Twilight Zone moment. It may be something that really makes you do a double take, like seeing a UFO in your neighbor’s yard! “Did I really just see a UFO?” you may ask yourself. So, something strange, out of the ordinary, and potentially disruptive may cross your path today, or it could be a lot less dramatic but still make you question what’s what and especially how you feel about whatever it is.
Then at 6:42 pm ET, the Moon perfects a sesquiquadrate to Jupiter in Taurus which symbolizes something positive that is in the works but you have to wait a bit. This is like knowing that you are going to get a tax refund or something like that but you have to wait for it to come. So, some form of aid, help, or blessing is on its way to you, but there are delays or a waiting period.
Tonight at 12:06 am ET, so technically tomorrow morning, the Moon in Sagittarius will square Neptune in Pisces. This represents a period of uncertainty, loss, chaos, confusion, or nebulousness. There could be things that you are feeling indecisive about because the answers seem cloaked in a fog, or something surreal could occur that leaves you speechless, at a loss, or feeling directionless.
The Moon in Sagittarius in the final decan, which is where she will be when she makes this square to Neptune, is peregrine and in the bound and face of Saturn, which tells me that there will be a very hard boundary, wake-up call, or reality check with this transit. Something solid may get washed away, flushed down a drain, or sucked into the ether, metaphorically. Brace yourself for the possibility of an impact like this.
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
What is the guidance for the day?
XVI The Tower
On this card, we see a tall tower by the ocean, or in the middle of the sea, we can’t tell, but turbulent waves are crashing against the base of the structure and dark gray storm clouds rise high in the background. The tower has been struck by lightning and is on fire, flames licking the sky from some windows. Two people are falling from the tower, arms bracing for the inevitable impact.
This is a very violent-looking card symbolizing, that which you thought was stable, solid, and immovable, being destroyed in some way. A foundational element that you depended on is no longer there. It represents receiving a message from the Universe that creates a fire within you that burns out what is false, artificial, or hardened (Mercury conjunct Pluto). We can no longer stay trapped in the situations that we are in; usually of our construction. We have to liberate ourselves from the confines of our narrow thinking or the Universe will free us in a less than pleasant way.
This is the card of renovation, restoration, and de-structuring of old forms. When XVI The Tower comes up, it’s a good time to be gentle with yourself as you go through major changes in your life. It’s time, to tell the truth, and focus on the health and well-being of your body. This is representative of big changes internally that are manifesting externally or vice versa.
I always like to emphasize when The Tower comes up that the next card in the Major Arcana is XVII The Star card, which, in simple terms, is about being self-confident and self-sufficient; picking yourself back up after a major change.
So, The Tower card is reminding us that we are going through big changes right now that may be very scary, painful, and disorienting, but after the dust has settled, we will be more confident and able to take care of ourselves.
With Mercury’s conjunction to Pluto in Aquarius today and the Moon’s upcoming square to Neptune, this card is very fitting (this is the possible impact that I was talking about). Something is coming to light, out of the darkness or out of hiding, coming into our minds, or changing the way we think about something and this change may be irreversible. XVI The Tower could represent something like a belief we held about something being torn down by new information. This new information may leave us at a loss and we may feel like we are in a liminal space and don’t know what to think or where to go from there.
All of this could represent some really big changes and new information coming in that could make a big impact…the key thing to remember is that whatever it is, it is part of the process. Like a wildfire in the woods burning down old growth so that the soil may get refortified for new growth, we too have to go through dramatic changes to replenish ourselves and make big strides forward sometimes.
A lot of times “Tower” moments are the turning points that we use to tell the difference between our past selves and our new selves. They give us defining moments that create the conflicts in our lives that make for great stories of resilience, endurance, faith, and fortitude.
I would love to know if these archetypes resonate with you, so please leave a comment! Also, let me know what you would love to see in the newsletter over the next year! Your thoughts, comments, and reflections are incredibly valuable to me!
I hope this is helpful!
Until tomorrow,
