Good afternoon, friends!
This morning I went on a little adventure! First, I found myself reading an enjoyable and thought-provoking post on Substack called, When I Slowed Down: A World I Never Knew Existed about, you guessed it, slowing down. In this post, the author, Jaber, quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson as saying, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” And this quote struck a chord with me because yesterday we pulled The Empress card which is all about being patient and allowing things to unfold in a natural way as you go about creating and producing beautiful things in your life (amongst the other significations of this card)—trusting nature, the process, and being patient as the divine plan comes into being.
So, then, naturally, as most astrologers do, I looked up Emerson’s birth chart. He was a Gemini with Mercury in Gemini, which fits his fame as a writer and poet, but that is not the important part—on the right of the webpage where I was looking at his chart there was a list of famous birthdays for February 25, and low and behold, it is Rudolph Steiner’s birthday today!
As many of you know, I am exploring Waldorf education, an educational model developed by Rudolph Steiner. This synchronicity tickled my curiosity and I was sent down a long rabbit hole reading about both the lives of Emerson and Steiner.
I mention this deep intellectual dive into the lives of these two interesting men because today Mercury conjoined Saturn in Pisces, and the main principle of this combination, according to astrologer Reinhold Ebertin is: “Depth of thought, [and] mental work,” two things I experienced through my morning adventures!
One of the other things that I find interesting is that Steiner, who was a Pisces and had Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces natally, would be having his Neptune return if he were alive today! Additionally, they both had Saturn in Virgo, despite being born nearly 60 years apart. I’m sure if I dug deeper, I’d find more fascinating tidbits of information about these two that would lead me to more fascinating ideas of synchronicity, but I believe that everything happens for a reason and that there was a reason that I ended up reading about these two people on the same day.
Another crazy thing, in my mind anyway, is that Steiner was born in 1861 and the other thing that I spent a good hour and a half doing this morning was preparing a lesson on the Australian expedition of Burke and Wills, who both died during the expedition in 1861. This type of astrological and historical coincidences, my teacher, David Palmer, The Leo King, calls having a “Hypergate” experience and says they should be noted, for they are often psychic highways that lead you to amazing discoveries.
Okay, let’s get into….the astrology
