Good morning, friends!
If you’re just tuning in and missed the update to my posting schedule on Monday, here’s what you need to know: for the next two weeks, I will be temporarily scaling back the daily horoscope because I am getting ready for my homeschool year. Instead of posting every day, I will be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, plus the weekend report on Saturdays. I will resume the regular daily schedule on September 1st.
If you have any comments or questions, you can reply to this newsletter, or send me a private email.
Also, I have a shop update! My daughter has recently finished her circle designs for all twelve zodiac signs—previously we had a few up in our shop available on embroidered patches, like the Taurus patch pictured below, but now, she has finished all 12 designs! Over the next few days, I will be listing them in the family Etsy shop, Metaphysical Flamingo. The designs will be available on embroidery patches, mugs, water bottles, and she even made a really cool T-shirt and hoodie! I’ll keep you guys updated here as I list new items, but check it out and follow our Etsy shop so you can be notified when they come out. My favorite one is Aquarius (pictured below the Taurus patch)!
Okay, now that the housekeeping is out of the way, let’s dive into…the astrology.
Well, as I am writing this, the Moon has finished her trek through Taurus and just moved into Gemini. This is fun energy for the Moon to be in, as it brings out our more talkative, social, and curious sides. The Moon will be in Gemini until Sunday evening, so this could be an interesting and mentally stimulating weekend.
Mars will be joining the moon tomorrow, early in the morning at 3:56 AM ET, thank goodness! Mars has been in its detriment in Taurus, and he is ready to finally get out of this earthy, slow energy. Mars will be having an extended stay in Gemini, so this will be very interesting. Usually, Mars moves through a sign in about 40 days, but he will be in Gemini until March of 2023—about 7 months! During this time, Mars will also retrograde in Gemini, so we will be talking a lot about this transit!
But today, Mars is in the last and final degrees of Taurus, so this energy may feel like we are raring to go somewhere or create something, but there’s a bit of indecisiveness to it, like we’re not sure if we should go here or there, or do this or that.
With the Gemini moon energy coming in, there could be lots of opportunities and options, but we need to discriminate and pick the ones that we’re most curious about.
The Sun is still in the YOD energy that I talked about in Wednesday’s newsletter. If you missed that and need a refresher, I’ll sum it up real quick here:
A YOD, also called “the finger of God,” is an aspect between three planets that looks like a slender wedge—two planets in a sextile at the base and each one making a quincunx to the apex planet of that wedge—this aspect represents a crisis point, where the energies are stressed and uncomfortable.
In this case, Pluto and Neptune form the base and are in a harmonious sextile, while both being in aspect to the Sun, in an inharmonious quincunx.
We could feel like we have to make some uncomfortable compromises during this transit and although they may feel like they are choices that are divinely guided and good for our futures, they are uncomfortable choices at the moment.
You can get deeper insights into the transit and how it’s personally affecting you by looking at your natal chart and noticing which house the Sun in Leo is traveling through.
For example, the Sun in Leo is traveling through my third house of communication, talking and writing, short trips, elementary education, neighbors, and siblings—so, this transit is bringing up things that have to do with homeschooling my children. I am having to make some uncomfortable decisions regarding what we learn and how we learn it this year. With Pluto in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces being involved, it represents my deep desire to give them the best education that I can afford and that I believe will give them all the tools that they need to succeed; with the Sun being at the apex of this YOD, it brings up having to make compromises based on my skills, my finances, and what I believe I am capable of teaching this year. Saturn and Jupiter are also involved in this transit because Saturn is the dispositor of Capricorn and Jupiter is the dispositor of Pisces, in ancient astrology, so this is also bringing in elements of where I feel I need to be more responsible (and Saturn being in Aquarius right now, could symbolize using the internet for school) and how I can help my children have an uplifting and inspiring school year that is fun, expansive, and instills a feeling of hope for their future. Definitely, a bit of an intense transit to have during my homeschool crunch time! I’m thinking about a lot of things!
So, where this transit is falling in your chart will highlight what’s going on for you, personally. If you would like to know more about your chart, you can book a Natal reading with me—I would love to go over it with you!
Last but not least, Venus in Leo is making a sesquiquadrate to Neptune today, so this may feel like we have certain priorities that are taking center stage right now, that are forcing us to put things involving our relationships, values, or money, on the back burner for a little while. We can still make meaningful connections with the people we love at this time, but it’s just not the main focus.
Today, I am drawn to the goddess amulets, so…
The Goddess Amulet for the day is:
The Laussel Goddess is the goddess of the thirteen moons and represents a bridge between the Moon and yourself. This moon goddess, dating back to the Paleolithic era, was found carved at the entrance to a sacred cave in the Dordogne (dor·doh·nyuh) Valley in France.
She carries a crescent horn in her hand with thirteen marks on it, representing the thirteen full moons of the year and of the thirteen annual menstrual cycles that women have.
When this amulet is pulled, it is a reminder to listen to your body and the psychic connection that you have with the moon and her phases. Take some time to rest and rejuvenate yourself, letting whatever emotions you are feeling, flow through you. It’s important to not judge yourself by what you accomplish alone, for there is never enough time to get everything done. Instead, bring your awareness back to your body and check-in.
Do you have aches and pains that are trying to tell you something? Do you have negative associations towards these body messages? If so, it’s time to change the dialogue with that inner voice and talk sweetly and kindly to yourself with a body-positive attitude.
The Laussel Goddess is reminding us that we are allowed to take a recess, reconnect with our bodies, and center ourselves with the ever-present, yet changing moon energy.
A helpful affirmation for connecting more deeply to this energy, from the Amulets of the Goddess book (on page 80) is:
I have time enough, courage enough, and love enough to take care of myself. I listen to the wisdom of my body and my own Moon cycles.
I would love to know what this amulet or today’s transits are bringing up for you! Please leave a comment below.
I hope this horoscope and card reading are helpful!
Until tomorrow,
