Okay, let’s get into…the astrology

So, I am writing this horoscope on Sunday night and I can already feel all the feelings starting to swell up inside of me.  The Moon is in Capricorn, in her detriment, the temple of Saturn, the planet of tests, limitations, and restrictions, and she is getting closer and closer to conjoining Pluto, which will be exact by 5:22 am ET,  Monday morning.

She is in the presence of Pluto and that is all it takes to start to feel the deeper feelings bubbling up to the surface.  Also, when the Moon conjoins Pluto, they will both trine Algol, the Demon Star.  This has been happening every time the Moon conjoins Pluto at this 26th degree of Capricorn, for many months now.  I have noticed that this is a time when people, including myself, seem to “lose their heads” emotionally.  Two months ago, when the Moon conjoined Pluto on September 7th, I was having one of the most emotional days that I have had in a while.  I couldn’t even do the recording because I was just crying and crying.

So, I am trying to write out this horoscope on Sunday night so that I can take tomorrow off from writing, if necessary.  Maybe I can use the astrology and what I’ve learned about myself, from following the cycles of the Moon, to my own advantage.  If the “emotion ocean” takes me down and you all don’t hear from me on Tuesday, now you know why.  These Moon/Pluto hard aspects, including the conjunction, appear to affect me deeply.

And, it’s Halloween, too!  So, this should be really interesting for everyone.  I am curious about how everyone else is feeling.  Do any of you feel more emotionally vulnerable, thin, or tender?  I would love to know in the comments.

Another transit that is happening early in the morning is that the Sun in Scorpio will make a sesquiquadrate to Neptune in Pisces retrograde at 5:50 am ET.  This transit could color the day with frustration, confusion, delays, or just clutter—imagine you have to clean your house, but there is all this clutter everywhere that you have to pick up first before you can clean, and then by the time you are done picking up all the out of place items you are too tired to actually clean!  Um, no, I am not talking about what it’s like in my house on Monday mornings during my Weekly Home Blessing…My house is always immaculate…yeah

The Moon will enter Aquarius today at 11:42 am ET—In general, the Moon in Aquarius can bring an air of emotional detachment, and wanting to connect with our friends, groups, or networks.  But, one thing I have been noticing since I started writing a daily horoscope, is that during the few days when the Moon travels through Capricorn and Aquarius, the temples of Saturn, it seems to be emotionally hard for most people that I talk to.  People feel isolated, sad, despondent, alone, outcast, and just generally low—I don’t know if it’s just that Pluto is in Capricorn and Saturn is in Aquarius and so when the Moon is co-present with these two powerful planets that bring up deep feelings and challenging situations or if Moon in Aquarius time is always this heavy.  So, I am expecting the heaviness to continue.

Now, maybe, with the holiday, people will be able to snap themselves out of their funks, especially if they have parties to go to or to take their kids trick or treating, but just be aware that emotions are a little rocky today and tonight.

By the afternoon, Venus in Scorpio will make a sesquiquadrate to Mars at 2:55 pm ET.  Again, this is another time of frustration and delays, but with Venus, Goddess of Love, and Mars, God of War—so, there could be a little bit of bickering between this archetypal couple.  Maybe now that Mars has stationed retrograde and is barely moving, Venus is frustrated with his super slow speed and so she gives him a piece of her mind.  I’d be wary of petty arguments that lead nowhere with this one.

Now that Mercury has ingressed into Scorpio over the weekend we have a mutual reception between Mercury and Mars.  Mars is in Gemini, Mercury’s sign and Mercury is in Scorpio, traditionally Mars’ sign.  This may make conversations a little bit more passive-aggressive.  We could all want to have clear communication and open conversations, but Mercury in Scorpio has a hidden agenda.  Not that Mercury in Scorpio is manipulative, but that Mercury in Scorpio knows how to lead a conversation in the direction that he wants it to go for the desired outcome.

By the evening, the Moon in Aquarius will square Mercury in Scorpio, so watch out for conversations to get a bit heated or just uncomfortable and jagged.  Communication and travel could be harder than usual, as well.

The Moon is technically making her first quarter square to the Sun at 2:36 am ET, on November 1st.  However, the Moon should be a beautiful half-moon in the evening, rising overhead and setting in the West and you should be able to see her glory if you have clear skies.  It is supposed to rain here, so I probably won’t be able to see it, but let me know if you do!

The first quarter moon phase is a time of action.  Whatever seeds were planted during the New Moon, or in this case, the Partial Solar Eclipse, which is like a New Moon on steroids, have been pushed out of the ground and the little plant is growing rapidly.  The stem gets stronger, the true leaves emerge, and the plant sends roots down deep to strengthen and stabilize itself.  This is all in preparation for being able to bear and hold the fruit that is coming with the Full Moon.  So, this is a really important time of action, manifestation, and making yourself known to the world.

Let’s move on to the card for the day:

I have been enjoying exploring one deck a week for the last two weeks, and I am going to do the same thing this week with the Black Moon Astrology Cards.  I am not sure how long I will keep doing this or when I will switch back to a different deck each day, but for now, this is what feels right.

What is the guidance for today?

36--Twelfth House~Escape

On this card we see a nautilus shell, light emitting from within its spiral.  Behind the shell is a moon moving from full to new, or new to full, depending upon how you look at it.

The Twelfth House is associated with some pretty dismal realities: self-undoing, loss, sickness, hidden enemies, confinement, escapism, and spiritual journeys.

As the guidance for the day, I feel that the most constructive way of looking at this card is to take it as a sign that today may be really emotional and challenging, and instead of letting oneself be consumed by those energies and playing out old coping mechanisms—choose to rest, choose to retreat—to take a sabbatical in a sense.

There’s something really powerful about choosing to take a break, rather than being forced by the Universe to take one.

I am definitely feeling this today.  There are things in my life that I feel like I need a break from and I am trying to figure out how to responsibly take one.

How about you?  Do you need a break from something today?  I would love to know if this reading resonates with you, and if you’d like to share, please leave a comment.
