Moon Forms Loose YOD With Saturn and Jupiter & the 8 of Bat’Leths
Daily Check-In, for ALL SUBSCRIPTION TIERS, for Tuesday, January 30, 2024
Good morning, friends!
Well, today I am going to make this daily check-in available to all subscription tiers because I’m behind on the Weekly Forecast! Would you believe that yesterday I was unable to finish my own to-do list? Sometimes I feel as if I am standing on the beach watching the ocean waves, reporting the weather and the strength of the tide and when I see a wave coming in about to crash on the shore, I tell everyone to get to higher ground, but sometimes I get hit by the very waves I warned others about! That is how yesterday went, LOL! So, the Weekly Forecast will be either up later today or early tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding and I hope you all enjoy the Daily Check-In!
Early this morning at about 3:59 am ET, Mercury in Capricorn formed a semisquare to Saturn in Pisces indicating an important message not going through or receiving a “No,” from Saturn and something really funny happened in my house that fits this archetypal combo to a “T!” AstroDaddy went down into the basement last night to work on our taxes and never came back up. Apparently, he texted me at 3:45 am that someone had locked the basement door and he was unable to rouse anyone from their slumber to let him out! So, he camped out in the basement all night! A message was sent and it was not received!! This is such a literal interpretation of the transit, and although I feel for AstroDaddy because now he has to go to work on very little sleep, I love it when stuff like this happens! It is a subtle reminder of the beautiful world that we live in. I know that getting locked in the basement is not “beautiful,” but the fact that it lined up with a transit so precisely is just so perfect! :D
So, today, the Moon is in Libra. She ingressed into Libra in the early morning at 3:04 am ET. The Moon in Libra is diplomatic and understanding; a lover of “nice” emotions, the Libra Moon doesn’t understand when others try to stir the pot for kicks. It’s a time of the month when we may feel more social, easy-going, and amenable to life, choosing to go with the flow rather than struggle against it for personal gain. We may feel drawn toward nature and beauty in our surroundings and enjoy time outdoors or with family and friends sipping tea and chatting next to a crackling fire. Libra is ruled by Venus and Venus is a lover of beauty, music, nature, romance, and the arts, so you may find yourself whistling a happy tune, listening or playing more music, or enjoying beautifying your environment by bringing in flowers, fluffing the pillows, or lighting the candles—whatever you feel will create the ambiance you desire.
Late this morning the Libra Moon will form a sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Taurus indicating that things may not be as peaceful as the Moon would like and there may be surprising disruptions or unusual things we have to do to maintain harmony today. There could be the feeling that you are in survival mode and in order to keep things going you have to perform different tasks than you would if things weren’t so strapped or tense right now. It is the end of the month after all, so all those first-of-the-month bills are about to be due, and keeping on top of everything right now could feel like a struggle.
This afternoon the Moon in Libra will form back-to-back quincunxes, first to Saturn in Pisces and then to Jupiter in Taurus between 3:54 pm and 5:39 pm ET. These two quincunxes form a loose YOD, “The Finger of God,” formation with Jupiter and Saturn who are still within the 3-degree range of engagement by sextile with each other.
What is interesting is the sextile between Jupiter and Saturn over the weekend got as tight as it was going to get when Saturn hit 6°Pisces 00’ and entered into a partile sextile with Jupiter at 6°Taurus 54’. During Jupiter’s retrograde, he traveled back to 05°Taurus 34’ and got to within 2 degrees of forming a sextile to Saturn, but stationed direct on December 30, 2023, before that could happen.
Now, usually, Jupiter is much faster than Saturn, but because it takes a planet that has recently turned direct a while to get up to full speed, Saturn has been gaining on Jupiter, finally catching up to 6 degrees of Pisces this last weekend, but that is as close as the two planets will get to perfection of the aspect.
What can we take from this little cosmic dance? Jupiter and Saturn together in a harmonious sextile, especially when Saturn is in one of Jupiter’s traditional home signs, which Pisces is, means the possibility for an enduring structure, a partnership, a business arrangement, or a career, that is built with enthusiastic faith or vision. It is a combination that can be very positive, productive, and solid. It’s as if Scrooge McDuck has been trying to catch up to Santa Claus to discuss next Christmas and he finally has a five-minute window to pitch his proposal. This dynamic forms the base of the YOD today.
A “YOD,” is a special transit that involves at least three planets and forms a narrow triangle-shaped aspect between the three. The base of the triangle is a sextile (a 60-degree angle) between two planets, a harmonious aspect, representing an opportunity, in this case Jupiter and Saturn—McDuck & Claus Enterprises. Then, those two planets each make a quincunx (a 150-degree angle), which is not a harmonious aspect, but one that represents change and separation-- with a third planet, forming the apex of the triangle; the Moon in this case. To McDuck and Claus, the Moon could be their prospective customers, the public.
So, it can symbolize a period that seems fated, and destined. The Moon in Libra craves a harmonious relationship with her environment and the people she interacts with and Jupiter and Saturn are attempting to support her in her endeavors to achieve that. What can McDuck and Claus offer the people that they need?
Taking a look at the chart of this formation today we can see the Moon at the bottom of the chart making the two quincunxes to Jupiter and Saturn, both at the top left and right of the chart below.
Venus is off to the right as well, co-present with Mercury and Mars in Capricorn at 3 o’clock. The Moon in Libra is applying to a square to Venus which will perfect later tonight at 10:33 pm ET indicating some tension in relationships, possibly around values, finances, or the relationship dynamic itself.
The last transit of the evening is the Sun in Aquarius forming a semisquare to Neptune in Pisces which you can see at the top of the chart indicated by the short red line connecting the two planets. This transit symbolizes the need to release and let go of attachments to the outcome that you had in mind. The Sun is 45° away from conjoining Neptune when there will be a spiritual renewal and rebirth. We are in the part of the cycle between the two planets when it is time to allow old ideals to shed away to make space for the spiritual upgrades coming up. It could also symbolize letting go of old titles, labels, or judgments we’ve made—what assumptions do we have about Scrooge McDuck that could be false? What assumptions do we have about Santa Claus that could be false? When the Sun and Neptune conjoin in March there will be an opportunity to rekindle our compassion and spiritual connections.
Let’s see what the cards have to say and if the tarot can help us see things more clearly…
What is the guidance for the day?
8 of Bat’Leths
On this card, we see eight Klingon Bat’Leths aligned in three rows.
The 8 of Bat’Leths represents feeling trapped and imprisoned, but it is a prison of the mind. There is a way out, but it may be hard to see through your feelings or your beliefs. You may think yourself not worthy of freedom or perhaps you are afraid of what freedom from your current situation would bring.
“Bat’Leths” are the Star Trek Tarot’s version of “Swords” and “Swords” represent the element of air which symbolizes communication, words, intellect, strategy, and thoughts. This card means that it is your own mind that is creating the prison that you currently find yourself in, you only need to think about things from another point of view to see the path to freedom.
Saturn represents boundaries, confinement, and the constraints that we experience and Jupiter symbolizes expansion, vision, and faith—when these two planets work together they can create beautiful, enduring structures that can support a broader, more creative life. With the Moon making quincunxes to both planets today it represents feeling trapped by fate and circumstance. There could be the feeling like you have nowhere to turn for guidance or assistance and there are blocks in both directions—the goal then is to inspire creative, innovative thought to break your thinking free of its usual constraints. Mars is still in a partile trine to Uranus today and this is exactly the energy we need to send shock waves through the trapped feeling, breaking us free from the mental constraints and seatbelts that we may have secured ourselves under.
The Klingons are a fierce people who use ruthlessness and strength to win their fights; they do not give up, even when they have lost honor and prestige.
Weaving this card and the transits all together as well as thinking about yesterday’s card, V The Hierophant, I feel that what may be trapping us is our beliefs about something. We could have very strong beliefs or convictions surrounding our life paths, purpose, or meaning, or our relationship structures, dynamics, programs, or family values, etc…this could be stemming from religious dogma or a strong spiritual framework and although these beliefs may provide a sense of structure and stability, they can also lock us into a stubborn and rigid way of thinking.
I think we are being put on notice to recognize which beliefs or stories that we are telling ourselves are helpful and supportive and which ones need to be dismantled, disintegrated, and let go of to feel free to experience joy, love, and peace. I hope that makes sense!
I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections.
I hope this is helpful!
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
