Moon in Virgo Quincunx Mars & IX The Hermit

Today is warm and sunny here at the beach and we are going to fly our kites!  I bought a batch of kites for this trip and although the sun came out yesterday, we were dodging rain clouds every 30 minutes!  It should be loads of fun!

Okay, let’s get into…the astrology

The Moon is in Virgo now as of last night and this means we are in the mood to clean and organize.  It may sound stereotypical to say that the Virgo Moon energy inspires cleaning, but seriously, it does!  Whenever the Moon is in Virgo, like clockwork I want to do chores, happily, and I am not that fond of chores!  Just this morning, I woke up and gave the hotel bathrooms a quick tidy, LOL, I’m not even joking.

Mercury, now in Taurus, is applying to square Pluto, which will be exact tomorrow, and so we may begin to feel this energy welling up inside our minds, like a sleeping dragon.  Mercury and Pluto together in a challenging square can indicate some anxiety, paranoia, or disturbing thoughts.  It could be a great time for writing as the energy will need an outlet and an outward expression may not be the best or wisest decision, so I advise writing, journaling, or even allowing yourself to get deeply immersed in a good story, especially one with a lot of suspense or character development.

The Sun in Taurus is only a degree and a half away from his conjunction to Jupiter, which will perfect on May 18, 2024, so that energy is getting very strong.  The Sun and Jupiter coming together is awesome and means health, vitality, and joy all under the same roof! We may all experience a joyful, sunny day, so to speak, that is filled with generosity, spirit, enthusiasm, optimism, and hope.  I love it.

Anyway, there are no major aspects perfecting today, but the Moon in Virgo is making two aspects that may flavor the day, a sesquiquadrate to Chiron and a quincunx to Mars in Aries.  She is also building up to her opposition to Saturn tomorrow—yay.

The Virgo Moon sesquiquadrate Chiron may be a moment when we realize that some things that need healing are best put on the back burner right now so that we can do our chores.

The Moon quincunx Mars in Aries could mean we are being pulled in a couple of different directions today.  For example, the Virgo Moon may have a nice and tidy “To-Do List” and present it to Mars, wide-eyed and bushy-tailed about cleaning and organizing the house, but Mars in Aries doesn’t use lists and so he looks at it like it’s written in a foreign language and tells her he’d rather go outside and play.  This is puzzling to her since she really thought he’d be great for the job and could help her get everything done (not that she needs him to help, she can totally do it all herself and usually prefers that so it gets done right, but she was willing to share to be polite and inclusive), but he has other plans.  Then Mars may decide while he’s out there he could be helpful and clean up the yard or chop some firewood for winter, both of these things are great on their own, but not exactly what the Virgo Moon had in mind.  So, it’s two energies that want to be productive and get things done, but in two different ways and so it creates a bit of tension.  Can the Moon in Virgo and Mars in Aries get along?  It all depends on how emotionally mature they are.  If they were children, they would probably be more prone to fighting and arguing and trying to make the other do what they want to do, but if they are mature adults then hopefully they will come to a working compromise. Fingers crossed, but I’m not holding my breath.
