Moon Squares Saturn and Mars & XVII The Star-Reversed--Holding Space While We Process Our Feelings
Daily Horoscope Check-In for Friday, April 12, 2024
Good morning, friends!
First and foremost, I would like to wish my lovely husband, AstroDaddy, a happy birthday!! AstroDaddy, you are an incredible support, wonderful person, loving husband and father, and the kids, and I just love you to pieces!! I hope you have an amazing day!
Second, and this is a bummer to have to address, but I would like to send out healing, loving vibes today to the astrological community at large. A woman who was an astrologer committed a terrible act of murder and then took her own life yesterday and this event has really rattled the astrological/spiritual community. My teacher, Adam Elenbaas, made a moving and helpful video addressing this incident so if you have heard of this tragedy or would like to know more, I will share it below.

It is terrible when something like this happens. My prayers and loving thoughts go out to the surviving family members and all who have been affected by this horrific event. As a mother and wife, this event has been extremely painful for me to hear and think about and, like Adam in his video, has brought me to tears and the need to process everything. It is an unfathomable tragedy…may the deceased rest in peace.
*Deep breathe*
Today’s post is available for all tier levels. Much love!
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today the Moon is in Gemini. She moved into Gemini yesterday morning, made a trine to Pluto and sextile to Venus, so last night could’ve been filled with deep talks about relationships or extreme events and feelings, but there was cooperative energy that brought people together in love and harmony, rather than disharmony.
Today, the Moon is having a harder time because she is about to square both Saturn and Mars, who have only separated 2° away from each other and are still within the 3-degrees of engagement range after their conjunction on April 10, 2024.
Their conjunction could’ve marked a time of frustration and destructive energy, or a time of doubling down on discipline, or even a weakened constitution—I know in my house we have a cold going through that started over the weekend when these two were approaching their conjunction. Oftentimes when Mars, the planet that represents our energy, drive, and ability to take action on things gets slowed down by a planet that weakens him, like Saturn or Neptune, people can experience a physical reduction in strength, stamina, and overall health. So…I’m not surprised we have a cold!
Now, the Moon is perfecting squares to this energy, which can be challenging. At 10:39 am ET, she will square Saturn, and then at 12:50 pm ET, square Mars. This can represent some emotional, possibly reactive moments when you or the people around you are feeling some intense feelings and possibly flip-flopping between extreme emotional highs and lows.
This afternoon, at 2:25 pm ET, the Moon in Gemini will make a sesquiquadrate to Pluto in Aquarius, who has just moved to 2°Aquarius 00’, introducing some new energy since we’ve never seen Pluto at 2° Aquarius in our lifetimes before! The sesquiquadrate is coming after yesterday’s trine to Pluto, so this is about deep feelings that may have come to the surface and now we are processing them. This could take some time, so be gentle, forgiving, and compassionate to yourself and others.
This evening, at 7:07 pm ET the Moon forms a sextile to Chiron in Aries and then about four hours later at 10:42 pm ET, she makes another sextile to Mercury in Aries retrograde. This is an attempt to heal a wound and try to wrap our minds around what we are feeling, experiencing, and learning about. Journaling may be helpful, or I recently read a post from a fellow alum, from NightLight Astrology (the astrology school I am currently attending) who also writes a Substack Newsletter called A Girl Can Dream, recommend talking to yourself as a form of therapy in her post, What 28 minutes of talking to myself taught me, and I found the suggestion enlightening! I think it would totally work for the Gemini Moon energy today! :D
One more thing to note is that Jupiter will reach 20°Taurus today and is that much closer to his conjunction to Uranus on April 20, 2024, at 21°Taurus 49’, so we could start to feel this energy big time, and perhaps you already have begun to feel the terrestrial tremors of our world begin to shake! The disruptive energy that Uranus transits represent isn’t always “bad,” because often we need to shake things up to loosen things that are stuck, right? It isn’t necessary to get consumed with worry and anxiety, but it is good to be aware that something we thought was solid and true may go through a metaphorical “earthquake” that may revolutionize what we are creating, building, or attempting to maintain. I am crossing my fingers for something amazing and awesome, LOL, but also preparing my psyche for shock or awe.
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
What is the guidance for today?
XVII The Star-Reversed
On this card, we see a naked woman, kneeling on the grass beside a stream. She is holding a water jug in each hand and is simultaneously pouring water on the earth and into the stream. Stars, flowers, and a bird are in the background.
The star card represents having hope, faith, and a spiritual sense of purpose. XVII The Star card follows XVI The Tower card in the tarot which has to do with a structure in your life being struck down by lightning. XVII The Star then represents someone who is renewing their life after a major upheaval.
In the reversed position we may be feeling very overwhelmed with emotion and experiencing a lack of faith. Powerful feelings of despair may be present. We could also be doubting our ability to take care of ourselves, or feeling disconnected from the divine in some way; hopeless.
This card is a reminder to have faith in yourself and the divine that you will make it through whatever hardships or challenges you are facing, even if you are feeling naked and vulnerable, like the woman on this card.
Hold space for yourself as you process your feelings—write them in a journal, talk to yourself with some loving self-talk therapy, or perhaps do some art, whatever you need to do to allow the feelings to flow out of you and into the Universe so that you may regain your strength, courage, and self-confidence.
Remember, you are strong, capable, and resilient. Be compassionate with yourself and others today…we are all going through a lot. ((HUGS))
I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections!
Until Monday,
