Poetry Prompt for the Cancer New Moon on July 5, 2024

Good afternoon, friends!

Today is the New Moon in Cancer! This lunar cycle is special because we are having two full moons in Capricorn, the sign opposite to Cancer on the zodiac wheel. For the last year and a half or so, the New and Full Moons have been off by one sign, since we had two New Moons in Aries, and one was a Solar Eclipse, last year in April of 2023. This skewing may have created a certain sense of feeling a little off ourselves, but now, with the second full moon coming up in Capricorn on July 21, 2024, the balance will be restored and the New and Full Moons will be in the opposite signs to each other. This natural polarity is important as it enables us to begin something at the new moon that relates to what we are celebrating and moving forward from, at the full moon. For the New Moon in Cancer, July 5, 2024

(due on the SECOND Full Moon in Capricorn, July 21, 2024)

How to play:  Below you will find this lunar month’s word list—from it, you are to write a poem using the exact words listed in the order they are in. 

For example, the opening to my poem might be: 

“Start packing” and then I would use the next word in the list in a line after the first word, “Remember your goat”….

…and so on until all 16 words have been used.  There is no limit to the length of your poem or how many words are between the words in the list.  There are no other rules, just use all 16 words as they are (do not change their tense or add suffixes to them) and in the order presented.
