Without further ado, here is the daily horoscope.
Good morning, friends!
So, this week I have family visiting and so I will not be recording an audio version of the weekend forecast. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Let’s talk broadly about what is happening this weekend and then we will discuss the play-by-play of the transits and pull some cards as well.
On Saturday the Moon in Virgo will oppose Neptune in Pisces after she conjoined Mars on Friday night and this may bring a bit of insight as to what the upcoming Mars opposite Neptune transit will be ushering in next week on August 22, 2023.
After this, the Moon ingresses into Libra on Saturday and the Sun in Leo makes favorable aspects to the Nodes, which could indicate a pleasant time on Saturday.
Then on Sunday, the Sun forms a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces and the Moon in Libra, in the Via Combusta, a stressed-out space for the Moon, opposes Chiron in Aries.
What’s interesting is that this weekend my family and I are going on a trip and plan to stay in a hotel and go swimming and enjoy life. The transits seem to support this sentiment, as the Moon in Virgo is very much interested in the details and getting everything in order and has to decide, when she meets up with illusive Neptune in watery Pisces, what she will focus on, the details or the expansive feelings of fun? There will inevitably be a push and pull between the two, the idea and the plan to have fun and the reality of planning, packing, and executing said fun. That dynamic will all be happening late Friday night and super early Saturday morning and then the Moon will ingress into the agreeable sign of Libra at 7:53 am ET.
With the Moon in Libra on Saturday and the Sun in harmonious aspects to the Nodes, I feel that fun will prevail and delightful memories will be made!
Then on Sunday the Sun in Leo perfects a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces and there could be the feeling of being done with the vacationing time and ready to check out of the hotel. The Moon in Libra makes a sextile to Venus in Leo retrograde on Sunday and then by the late evening an opposition to Chiron in Aries, so there is an opportunity for pleasant experiences with the group coupled with the needs of the individuals involved. So, there could be some cranky kids coming home on Sunday night, which is not unheard of, right?!
All in all, this weekend looks like it has the opportunity to be rather pleasant with only a few hiccups along the way.
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
On Saturday…
The Moon in Virgo forms a quincunx to the North Node in Aries, meaning that we are letting go of some sort of direction that we may have had on a personal level and embracing a more structured, detailed plan of action. We may have to make some adjustments because of whatever is going on, and this may be experienced late Friday night since this transit is happening right after midnight on Friday, so there could be some sort of situation that we have to kind of just agree to disagree about, let go, and move on.
Then at 2 am ET, early Saturday morning the Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces indicating that there are details in our current reality that conflict with the visions and ideals that we are trying to pursue. The ancient astrologers said that all planetary influences had to pass through the sublunary sphere, meaning the realm of the Moon. This is one reason why the Moon is said to symbolize our emotions—as well as the symbolism of the Moon’s natural relationship with the ocean and the ebb and flow of the tides, which is like the ebb and flow of our hormones that make up our emotional chemistry, right?—so the Moon is very symbolic of what we are experiencing on an emotional level, that is why we can look to the Moon to gain insights into our emotional states.
So, the Moon in Virgo wants to focus on the itty-bitty details and compartmentalize things into bite-size chunks of information to process and also wants to do so in a systematic way, that’s why you always see Virgo with their clipboards and lists!
Neptune in Pisces, however, is a very messy place, where there is a focus, if you can even call it that, on the whole, the other, the expansiveness of the Ocean and the confluence of all the different things merging together in this one great, vast body.
The Moon is usually a lot more aligned with this concept of “many things” and represents inherently “more than one thing,” that is why she symbolizes groups of people and the family unit, as opposed to the Sun, which symbolizes “the one, the one soul, the one ideal, the one mission, the only star, the one.”
But when the Moon is in Virgo, she is forced, in a way, to put on a pair of magnifying spectacles and forget about her peripheral vision for a moment and focus on the minute details, but when she is in opposition to Neptuene she is challenged to include the many, the expansiveness and vastness at the same time, but that is impossible right? It’s impossible to focus on the one thing right in front of your face and at the same time the bigger picture—obviously, we have to do it all the time, but what we are really doing is focusing back and forth, it’s like wearing bifocals, we are aware of the two different magnifications, but we can only physically look through one at a time, so that is this opposition. We are aware of the whole picture, the whole ideal situation, but we have to focus on one part at a time and that can create stress, conflict, and some tension.
But, then the Moon in Virgo makes a trine to Pluto in Capricorn at 4:50 am and then ingresses into Libra at 7:53 am ET. So, we are a bit stressed out on Friday night going into Saturday, but we allow ourselves to feel the feelings and we don’t hold onto them because the Libra Moon wants peace, and harmony, and doesn’t want any conflict. By Saturday morning we are a lot less stressed out!
The Moon in Libra is able to be very diplomatic and find solutions that make everyone happy at the moment. They are able to smooth things over with their charm and tact. I love this for the weekend actually, as we need some sugar-coating after the stressed-out Virgo moon energy! Sometimes we just need to take the edge off of life and not feel the sharpness of it for a little while, right? And that is what the Libra moon sets out to do, soften the harsh realities of life with a little love, a little flirtation, and a little charming smile!
So the Moon, now in Libra perfects a sesquiquadrate to Jupiter in Taurus at 8:12 am ET indicating that we are on a mission to have fun and make memories and there are only a few more things to do to get that going.
Thinking of my upcoming family trip, this transit may remind us all to do some essential things before we set out on the road like, eat breakfast, take showers, pack a few activities for the car, and stuff like that. Whatever it is, this transit represents doing a few necessary things to ensure some pleasant blessings down the road today.
At 11:27 am ET, the Moon in Libra forms a semisquare to Venus in Leo retrograde. The Moon and Venus in a semisquare simply mean that there are some delays on Saturday—it reminds me of like, trying to wake up a cat because you want to play with the cat, but the cat is really in the mood to sleep and doesn’t really want to wake up and so the cat may either, A) not respond, B) wake up and start swatting at you, or C) just get up and walk away from you! So, this may feel like trying to wake up a cat to play who is not exactly in the mood.
By the afternoon on Saturday, the Sun makes pleasant aspects to the Nodes indicating the opportunity for fun and enjoyable experiences to be had!
At 4:43 pm ET on Saturday the Moon in Libra perfects a quincunx to Saturn in Pisces meaning that she really could care less about time, the aging process, or the physical limitations that she may have. The Moon in Libra is about having a good time and if Saturn doesn’t want to play and have fun, the Moon doesn’t really care and is totally fine with avoiding him—Saturn is inherently a “fun-sucker” and the Moon in Libra doesn’t have time for that shit on Saturday! So, basically, this transit means to me, “No stress!” The whole intention on Saturday will be to alleviate the stresses of life as best we can and enjoy the moment.
On Sunday…
Right at midnight on Saturday night, the Moon in Libra forms a sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Taurus. Uranus represents sudden upheavals, unexpected surprises coming into play, and usually disruptive forces that shake things up, out, and all over the place! Simply this means that Saturday night into Sunday there is the possibility of something unexpected, wild, or out of the norm to happen that creates a little delay or setback that has to be dealt with. But, now you know so you can prepare!
The sesquiquadrate is something that is already in motion that you are trying to accomplish but it represents a hiccup or a speedbump in the road. It doesn’t mean the thing won’t happen or manifest it just means that there’s an interruption in the process—something provides friction that slows you down a bit.
At 3:40 am ET, the Sun in Leo makes a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces, and then by 8:23 am, the Moon forms a semisquare to the Sun--meaning that the Sun is over the fantasy party—reality sets in that the Sun, the King, still has to manage the kingdom and there could be some more serious feelings that come into the mix Sunday morning. Reality sets in that it is Sunday and the next day is Monday and we have to go back to work or back to school or back to something that we are not super happy about returning to!
But there is still all of Sunday to enjoy and the Moon makes that clear when she perfects a sextile to Venus in Leo retrograde at 4:07 pm ET. There’s still lots of daylight left to have fun and enjoy the last few hours of the weekend!
By the late evening on Sunday, the Moon forms a sesquiquadrate to Saturn in Pisces at 10:23 pm and then she perfects her opposition to Chiron in Aries at 11 pm ET. Now, the Moon is also in the Via Combusta on Sunday, starting at about 2 pm, so that symbolizes that the afternoon and evening on Sunday are a bit less fun and a bit more stressful, emotionally. With the sesquiquadrate to Saturn, this really feels like the reality that the weekend is coming to a close and the workweek is about to commence comes in and we may feel sad about the good times coming to completion. This really just feels to me like the weight of the workweek or whatever you have to do next week starting to take front and center in your mind and all the tasks and things on your to-do list bring a heaviness to the mood. The challenge then will be to stay positive and uplifted under the weight of the imminent shift coming up.
Let’s move on to a three-card spread for the weekend representing “what I think,” “What I feel,” and “what I do.” So, our thoughts, feelings, and actions about a situation…for this reading, choose a topic to focus on before reading about each card.
The first card representing our thoughts on the matter is:
Horseman of Wands
On this card we see a horseman, wearing a hat with a plume of greenery on it. His horse is ready to go somewhere. He holds a sprouted wand in his hand, symbolizing passion and enthusiasm for his mission.
In the upright position, the Horseman of Wands represents someone who is really revved up with inspired energy—they are ready to take action and move quickly with passion, enthusiasm, and lots of motivation. They have a clear vision of what they want and they are moving forward toward their goal! This is a good omen to go for whatever it is that you are trying to pursue.
Specifically in the Rolla Nordic Tarot, Horsemen are said to be “thoughts” and the Horseman of Wands represents making mental plans for a journey.
The second card representing our feelings on the matter is:
Four of Cups—reversed
On this card, we see four goblets, upside down.
The Four of Cups in the upright position means that you have an abundance of something--cups represent love, opportunities, and good times, but you are full and turning things away, either because you have more than you need or you are bored with the opportunities, or you are feeling apathetic.
In the reversed position, this card means that you are feeling like you need to turn your attention inward and check in with yourself. You may be getting lots of invitations to do things, but this card represents that you feel like staying home and being with yourself for a while, retreating to your own space where you can sort of regroup.
Specifically in the Rolla Nordic Tarot, Fours refer to “benefits” and the Four of Cups represents an unexpected meeting that is beneficial.
And the third card representing what our actions are is:
Three of Cups
In the upright position, this card means celebrating something or someone, spending time with friends, being creative, or collaborating and exchanging ideas.
As the card indicates our actions, I feel this means that we will be socializing with others and having a good time.
Specifically in the Rolla Nordic Tarot, Threes refer to “work” and the Three of Cups represents working on something the heart is set on.
To Recap:
We are making plans or have been making plans and we are ready to take action on those plans. We may feel like staying home because all the activity is overwhelming in some way, but ultimately we will be socializing with friends or family, collaborating with others, or working with others in some way and it will be enjoyable and beneficial.
