When I opened my eyes this morning, there was a red hue to everything outside. The fog was low and red and, as if on cue, the little saying came into my head, “Red sky at night, sailors' delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning.” Today is a day to have caution.
I also woke up grumpy. Not entirely an unusual thing for me, but I’ve been working on it and so it kind of surprised me how grumpy I was (am, let’s be real).
My seven-year-old daughter was up, talking my ear off about how she stayed up all night, not an advisable thing to do before mom has coffee. My husband was getting up because he is planning on going to the store to pick up a grocery order that I placed yesterday, thinking it was for delivery, but when the order didn’t show up by ten o’clock, we realized I had placed it for pick-up! This was a bad thing because coffee is in that order... and I am out of coffee…
Thankfully I had some espresso, but habits are habits and I habitually drink COFFEE in the morning, not ESPRESSO.
Anyway, I think that this is where my grumpiness started, actually. I think I went to bed grumpy, slept grumpily, and woke up grumpy.
And now, I’m writing grumpily! I’m not surprised with all this grumpiness, to be honest. The Moon is in Cancer, an emotional water sign, and is going to go through a ton of ups and downs today!
Be prepared for a possible emotional roller coaster yourself today. Try to keep your sense of humor as we all get a little tossed around from the twists and turns, and the uphills and downhills of today’s transits.
I’m sure that I will snap out of this funk after I finish the newsletter, because I love writing the horoscope and it always feels so satisfying to hit the ‘Publish’ button. I’m feeling better already!
Now, let’s dive into the astrology…
The Moon has finished her conjunction with the Sun and she’s in for a lot today. She’s making aspects with 5 planets! Here they are, with a few ideas about each and a few keywords.
First, a Semisquare to Venus—minor frustrations about things not playing out exactly how you want them to. Keywords: changes in emotions, changes in eating habits (like my coffee to espresso!), and changes to your emotional, spiritual, or financial resources. These are minor changes that bring minor frustrations.
Second, a quincunx to Saturn—you feel agitated, so you isolate yourself in order to get work done (writing in another room from everyone else, because “I. Just. Can’t. Even. ) Keywords: loneliness, isolation, feeling unsupported; needing to consolidate resources. The quincunx can also bring a separation or an ending to something.
Third, a trine to Neptune—the trine aspect represents all obstacles being removed, so this could be good and you could experience rapid achievement in your dreams or a heightened intuition, or it could be bad and you could experience rapid failure, a sense of loss, and confusion about where you’re headed. Keywords: vivid dreams, heightened intuition, or visions; or needing to take a time-out, confusion, or feeling lost, emotionally.
Fourth, a square with Mars—Events that you have no control over are forcing you to take action. Tensions rise, anger may erupt, or frustration may be felt. With a Mars/Moon aspect we can feel like we need to take action to get something done and it may be from an emotionally charged space, but these emotions are what fuel the action. Keywords: tension, anger, fights, arguments, irritations.
Fifth, an opposition to Pluto—Someone or something is making you take action. There is always a choice that has to be made during an opposition and you may feel forced to make a decision between two polar opposites. With a Pluto/Moon aspect, this could place stress on family dynamics, issues with mothers or your own mothering, issues with groups of women (oh my goodness, you can’t make this stuff up *eye roll*), and great stress on the emotional bonds between people. Keywords: distress, mothers/mothering, emotional storms, grief, lust, power, control. (Not sure, but this could have some political implications today?)
The fourth and fifth aspects above have great importance because they are forming what’s called a T-square with one another, so all three: the Moon, Mars, and pluto, are involved, as Mars and pluto are building towards their square which is exact tomorrow. This is intense. Today could be a very extreme day!
The red skies this morning felt like an ominous warning…there’s a storm brewing in the harbor. Just be prepared—this could culminate in events transpiring today and over the weekend.
The card for the day:
Passion
Today is going to be a passionate day! There could be traffic as we’re trying to get to where we want or have what we want. We may feel a deep lust for things.
I think this card is reminding us to keep our cool today. We may feel very passionate and energized, but we don’t want to give in to road rage or be involved in an accident because of our haste.
“Drive” through life today with caution and mindfulness. Don’t let yourself drift off and daydream while driving or your ‘auto-pilot setting’ could lead you to a shoddy downtown area.
Pay attention at all times today, and mind your business.
Let’s end with a stupid joke, just to lighten the mood a little bit:
Why do teenage girls always walk in groups of 3, 5, or 7?
Because they literally Can’t. Even.
I hope this horoscope and reading are helpful!
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
