Release the Past, Feel the Present, Make Room for the Future
Daily Horoscope for Thursday, May 26, 2022
When I first wrote today’s horoscope, I went deep into the astrology, and while reading it to my husband, I realized that even though he was trying to listen intently, it was just too much! I have included my original horoscope below for those of you who are interested in the astrology and want to know the “why.” But for those of you who are coming here to hear a whimsical account, read something motivating and inspiring, and don’t want to be dulled by Astro-lingo, here is today in a nutshell…
Today is a day of releasing the things in our lives we no longer need. Throw out that winter coat you haven’t worn in ten years! Get rid of those ugly shoes in your closet that you thought you might need but never ever choose to wear! Clean out your bathroom and get rid of all those empty bottles piling up in your shower, those tiny little bits of soap that you keep squishing together to wash your hands—it’s time to release all this old crap and clutter that you don’t need anymore. Go out into your proverbial garden (or your real one) and pull out those weeds that are suffocating the plants you’re trying to grow and plant those seeds in your pocket so they have time to germinate and take root.
Stay in the present moment today. You may have a temper, or feel like you’re on a short fuse and those around you could be feeling the same—conflicts may happen, tempers may rise, and conversations may get heated. Do your best to have patience with yourself and others as we all go through this time of release. Some people get excited about purging and other people have a really hard time letting go of things, people, experiences, or what they’ve invested in. It’s ok, we all have our journey to go through.
The Tarot card for today is: The VI of Cups**
Don’t get caught up in memories of the past and emotions of the past. Acknowledge them, feel them, and release them. New relationships, new environments, and new insights are in the here and now.

And if you’d like to go deeper and read what I originally wrote, it is below…If you make it through the Astro-lingo there may be a few more helpful insights for today, good luck!
Otherwise, until tomorrow,

The Deeper Astrology*
Well, today we have the Moon in Aries, halfway through its third-quarter phase before the New Moon on Monday, May 30, 2022, in Gemini. Just three more celestial bodies to join up with before she joins the Sun: Venus, Uranus, and Mercury—not to mention the North Node (which is technically not a body, but a point) during the Moon’s balsamic phase, the last phase of the cycle and thus the hardest.
The Moon just finished a conjunction to Chiron yesterday—touching base with the wounds of our identity and ego—and now she’s moving towards Venus. She will conjoin Venus late tonight, 10:59 PM, Eastern time, and then 20 minutes later, square Pluto in Capricorn. Venus will only be 9 minutes of arc away from a perfect square to Pluto herself, so for all of us mere mortals, it will feel like the moon and Venus are squaring Pluto tonight together (Venus has its exact square to Pluto at 2:28 am tomorrow morning—just six minutes after the Moon moves into the sign of Taurus). And, as I said above, all of this is during the balsamic phase of the moon.
All of that is coming on the heels of what we just slept through, which was Mars in Aries semisquare Uranus in Taurus.
Let me put that in layman’s terms…
Yesterday, was an intensely emotional day and today could prove to be a bit of a frustrating one. Mars in semisquare to Uranus will bring unexpected challenges that we really can’t do anything about and our best course of action is actually to be patient and not try to force an outcome. Conflict is likely today, so watch out for anger, people acting hastily, and accidents; on the good side, we may feel an increased sexual drive and energy and feel more passionate or spontaneous.
By this evening, we could start to feel even more heated—tempers may rise as you assess what it is you value in your life and you may feel an impulsive need to let go of things and make room for new things that you desire.
The balsamic phase of the moon marks a time of release—we must clear out the old things in our lives that are no longer serving us to make room for the seeds of the New Moon. With this energy being in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn, this may feel like a volcano erupting from deep within us because the pressure is too great, and something’s gotta give! We don’t want to live our lives like this anymore and something’s got to change! And change is happening, deep within ourselves, and all around us.
So, it could be a very intense night as we head into tomorrow! Whatever things, people or situations that we shed will be making way for new things to take root this weekend when the Moon and Venus move into earthy, fixed Taurus. But we must first pull out the weeds, fertilize the soil and plant those seeds so they have time to germinate.
And…with Saturn slowing down and preparing for its retrograde on June 5th, this is our last chance to get those seeds in for this season’s garden. So be brave; let go of the old weeds growing in the garden of your life, plant those seeds of the vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers that you want to grow, and trust in the divine process! It may be hard to let things go that are no longer of value, but if you do it with love, kindness, and acceptance, rather than haste, anger, and resentment, it will feel like a beautiful renewal.
The Gemini Sun influence continues to give us curiosity about life and fun youthful energy that we can utilize. In the midst of the Mars/Uranus transit and what the moon is going through today with Venus, we have to remember that Gemini is represented by the twins and we could experience (or see others expressing) the flip side of our nature, showing our restless, fickle, and volatile side. Just be mindful, compassionate, and above all else, patient.
I hope this horoscope was meaningful and helpful.
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
