Good morning, friends!
Rabbit! Rabbit! Wow, over the weekend on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3:06 pm ET, Saturn stationed retrograde at 19° Pisces 25’. As we discussed last week, when Saturn goes retrograde it symbolizes a time of year when we are going back over the things we’ve put into place earlier in the year, like structures, foundations, and commitments—now Saturn will go back over these things and apply a bit of pressure, much like how when you plant a seed you then cover it in soil and tamp it down, ensuring that the seed stays right where you put it and doesn’t get washed away in the next rain. Saturn will tamp things down, iron things out, and calcify everything we have going on right now. It is not time to start new things anymore, but rather maintain what we’ve started already and work toward harvest time.
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today’s Transits
Today the Moon is in the pleasurable, solid, and stable sign of Taurus. She’s done with her square to Pluto in Aquarius retrograde and the semisquare to Saturn that she made yesterday, so she is finished looking at the deep stuff, and the challenging stuff, and now she wants to flourish, fertilize, and bring good fortune—but she has to meet up with Mars today, which could be great and fill her with passion and desire, or it could cause tension, and aggressive emotions. Hopefully, since Mars is in the sign of the Moon’s exaltation, Taurus, it will be the passionate pleasurable kind of energy combination.
Right after midnight last night, Jupiter in Gemini formed a semisquare to Chiron in Aries and that could’ve represented a time for healing, a time for dreams, visions, and intuitive information coming in. With the semisquare, we may have gotten a whiff of something but can’t quite put our finger on where it’s coming from and it recedes just as quickly as it floated in, so we are left waiting for it to come again. We may have gotten a taste of something philosophical or educational in some way, but haven’t quite understood it’s significance yet. Understanding and wisdom will come later, for now, just let it sit and percolate.
Early this morning at 9:41 am ET the Moon perfected a semisquare to Neptune in Pisces indicating that we may have fantastical feeligns toward an ideal situation but it is not in alignment yet, so we may feel a bit lost or in a fog of uncertainty. There’s nothing to do but wait for the fog to clear so enjoy this time by relaxing into Neptunian things like music and art.
In the afternoon at 12:19 pm ET the Moon will conjoin Mars and this is where things can go either way today. The principle of this combination, as Reinhold Ebertin says in his book The Combination of Stellar Influences, is “Excitement, impulsiveness, [and the unconscious] expression of intense emotion” (1972).
This could manifest as quick decisions, hastey actions, and impulsive motivations to do, say, and share our feelings. We may express our feelings in an outward and aggressive way, pushing our emotions onto those around us, like a Bull in a China shop, unable to control our urges. We could feel the fighting spirit within wanting to get out and we may have to use a lot of will-power to subdue the mighty emotions and “strong inner tensions.” Do be mindful of this energy and take precautions if you are, or someone around you is, feeling aggressive, short-tempered, and easily triggered today. But, as I said, it could go either way—being aware of this energy may mean that perhaps you can use it to do good. Feeling passionate and excited about something is not always a bad thing but can be rather useful in the right situations.
Later in the afternoon, this Moon/Mars energy may be tempered by the fact that the Moon will form a harmonious sextile to Venus, the host of Taurus, indicating love, affection, and pleasure and means that our intense emotions may be more passionate, and pleasure-seeeking than trying to start fights with people—this is good! This means we may be able to channel this energy into something creative and constructive that has beneficial effects on others and our situations.
Then in the evening the Taurus Moon makes a sextile to Saturn in Pisces retrograde representing an opportunity for serious emotions, constructive feelings, and enjoyable traditions. We are happy about whatever we are going back over and tending to for the sextile is the nature of Venus and so it brings harmony, pleasure, and support. This is a good time for maintaining good habits and rituals that support the structures and foundations you are building, for the Taurus energy is about maintenance, endurance, and stamina, and the Saturn energy is about structures, boundaries, and foundations that support your material and spiritual life.
Late tonight at 11:58 pm ET the Sun in Cancer perfects a semisquare to Uranus in Taurus which could symbolize something shaking things up or rattling you a bit that makes you crave freedom. The Sun represents our spirits, our mission and purpose in life, and Uranus represents revolutions, the desire for freedom, and breakthroughs that release us from the chains in life; together the Sun and Uranus bring changes to the plan, our purpose, and our missions. The Semisquare indicates tension, setbacks, and delays; things that cause friction on our paths—so suddenly we may step in gum, hit a speedbump, or be faced with some sort of surprise that causes a temporary delay and a course check. Are we going the right way? Are we wearing the right shoes? Are we doing the right things to be comfortable, secure, and happy in our homes and the foundations we are laying? These are all things the Sun in Cancer may be asking us to consider right now.
