Good morning, friends!
Well, my daughter is recovering and did not throw up yesterday, and so far no one else has come down with the stomach flu—crossing my fingers! She did develop a fever though and is still dealing with that, so I am going to skip the podcast again today. I’m really sorry for those of you who only listen to the podcast, but it is what it is. Thanks for understanding!
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
Today the Moon is in Aries, which means it’s a good time to begin new projects, business ideas, or adventures! New opportunities abound with the Aries Moon energy, and today is no exception because the Moon is making several sextiles, the aspect of opportunity, today! As always, with the Aries Moon, it’s wise to exercise patience and selflessness where possible, for the Aries energy can be competitive, impulsive, and braggadocios, which is why, I think, these sextiles are also accompanied by a couple of semisquares, the aspect that seems to represent delayed action or hard “no’s.”
While we were sleeping the Aries Moon formed a sextile to Mars in Gemini and then by 6 am ET this morning, she formed a sextile to Mercury in Aquarius—these sextiles are said to be of the nature of Venus and represent opportunities falling into our laps that we may want to take action on that have to do with what we want, think, and are driven to achieve. This is good! This means that there are opportunities available to us!
Then the resistance comes in—by 9:26 am ET, the Moon in Aries makes a semisquare to the Sun in Pisces, which means that we hit a small delay in our assignment or receive a “no.” Something that we are feeling or experiencing in our hearts, circumstances, or physical body makes us stop and think about our motivations, our health, or our mission in some way.
At 11:31 am ET, Saturn in Aquarius forms a semisquare to Chiron in Aries, indicating a check on our independent healing journeys—I feel that this transit is like a boundary check, sort of like if you are driving a bumber car and you hit the rail—it’s like a reminder that you have some limitations to your freedoms, your individuality, and your abilities to charge forth. Or it’s like going over a speed bump on the road, it isn’t that big a deal, but it does make you slow down a bit.
By tonight, around 7 pm ET, the Moon will get within the 3° range of forming a sextile to Saturn, which will be exact at 1:04 am ET, technically tomorrow. So, this evening we will feel a seriousness about what it is we are thinking about creep in that requires some sort of commitment on our part. Healthy boundaries, limitations, and restrictions may come into play that helps us fulfill our duties or follow the rules.
For me, these transits relate to my thought process this morning--I have been thinking about how to systematically schedule writing breaks—just like with homeschool or public school there are scheduled days off that everyone can look forward to and plan around. I have been considering how to do this in a way where I have a few days off every month, but still deliver the daily horoscope. Writing every day is wonderful, but it can be grueling at times and I don’t want to burn out. What I am considering is taking the days off when there are no big transits occurring. This way, I would be able to plan a few days off per month where I can recharge my batteries, work on other posts, or focus on homeschool activities and planning. It also seems kinda poetic to take the same days off that the stars are too! Not that there are really any days off for the Universe, but you know what I mean!
Let’s move on to the card for the day:
What is the guidance for today?
Three of wands
On this card from the Rolla Nordic Tarot, we see three wands, arranged in a v-pattern, much like flying birds. This card is usually an image of a man in robes, holding a sprouted wand in his right hand with two more standing around him. The man’s back is turned away from us as he is looking out toward the distant mountains on the other side of the ocean. The wind is blowing his hair, and wild flowers grow at his feet. In the distance, there are boats on the water, their sails full from the wind, indicating change is on the horizon.
In the upright position, the Three of Wands is representing something in your life that is underway and the journey has just begun. The birds are in formation and are flying to their destination. The man is ready to travel and has stepped outside the door. He can see what lies ahead of him—he can see what parts of the terrain will be easy and which parts will be more challenging and plan accordingly.
As the card for the day, I feel that this indicates change is taking place—either you are already on your new journey, project, or passion, or you are just about to set out upon it.
Last weekend, the Three of Wands came up reversed, meaning we were thinking, planning, or dreaming about a new project, journey, or adventure, but we were not going anywhere or doing anything towards it yet. We had to stay put and play it safe. This week, with this card coming out upright, it’s like the Universe is giving us the go-ahead and we are ready to take action on whatever business, educational, or travel plans we have.
Maybe we’ve made the necessary arrangements for our new project and all we have to do is start. Something that was previously stalled, as indicated by the Three of Wands coming up reversed last weekend, is now no longer stuck, hindered, or delayed, but allowed to go, commence, or begin. The Threes in Tarot also have to do with partnerships and relationships—people cooperating together to accomplish something, so this card could also indicate that a new partnership, friendship, or relationship of some kind is in progress.
With all of the sextile energy happening with the Moon today, this card seems very fitting!
