Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Happy Taurus season! Today the Sun ingressed into the passionate, hard-working, and stubborn sign of Taurus at 9:59 am ET. On Sunday the Sun in Taurus will square Pluto in Aquarius for the second time in our lives (the first was last year). This is an intense annual transit that always brings a moment of repositioning, drama, or spiritual cleansing.
Last year, the Sun ingressed into Taurus and immediately squared Pluto at 0°Aquarius on April 20, 2023, right after the Hybrid Solar Eclipse at 29°Aries, so it was like a major new beginning that started with the end of something and then there was a sacrifice or a forced change that happened right after that new beginning and it was fast, and probably felt very abrupt.
This year, the square to Pluto comes two weeks after the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, so this time we have already had flashes of insight into what this major new beginning could be in our lives, although, with Mars, the ruler of Aries and thus the dispositor of the Solar Eclipse, recently conjoining Saturn, I feel strongly that we may be still “warming up the car,” so to speak and still waiting for the light to turn green, or something like that, but the point is, we aren’t moving yet. This transit, the Sun square Pluto, represents a forced initiation or change to our missions, our motivations, or even our life force energy that will make us change, alter, or transform something. We may have to sacrifice, purge, or let go and it may be hard because it rarely involves a thing that we want to give up. There could also be karma around solar figures, such as men, fathers, and prominent leaders, that plays out during this time which could be both painful and healing.
As we are leading up to the Full Moon in Scorpio next week, we could see things coming to a peak and then going through a natural process of release. It’s a cathartic dance and we are in the middle of it.
Today is a pivotal day because Mars, the planet that disposited the Solar Eclipse and will also be dispositing the Moon in Scorpio during this upcoming Full Moon, is making a sextile to Jupiter and then Uranus as they both conjoin in Taurus! This is like the match being lit that lights the fire of change. The sextile is of the nature of Venus, so there is a cooperative sentiment between Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus where they are all trying to start something, expand something, or shock something into being. It reminds me of the tiny explosion of light that occurs during conception. Something is being spiritually conceived and the spark of life is occurring. Deep within, we all know this to be true. We can feel the pulse of something different, something foreign, yet familiar, living in the collective.
This energy reminds me of being pregnant. Each time I have been pregnant during the first month or so I could feel this sort of vibratory energy within my cells. I couldn’t feel anything yet in my womb, but I felt a humming like my cells were all vibrating at a different level than before. It wasn’t anything that was measurable on any test, it was just something I knew deep within my body and soul.
Mars in Pisces sextile Jupiter in Taurus may be asking you to rise up to some sort of calling that you have, to be of spiritual service somehow. There’s an opportunity to expand on the table, will you take it?
After Mars perfected his sextile to Jupiter this morning, the Moon will go on to perfect a sesquiquadrate to the Sun in Taurus at 5:14 pm and then oppose Saturn in Pisces at 5:52 pm ET. The Moon in Virgo is self-critical, analytical, and focused on the details of the present moment and she doesn’t have a lot of room for Jupiter’s far-out vision right now. She is more concerned with getting things done and the practicality of her to-do lists, but the sesquiquadrate to the Sun and then opposition to Saturn is reminding her of the mission, the plan, the long-term goal and that she has to get serious about it to make it happen—she needs to be a team player, something the Virgo Moon is not the best at, to be perfectly frank. Moon opposite Saturn is a reality check moment where we have to come to terms with where we feel limited and then decide how to move forward.
The Moon in Virgo is honest about what she can and cannot do and so she will accept the boundaries laid out by Saturn that make sense and reject the ones that don’t and strive to prove him wrong because she is very, very self-sufficient.
At 7:55 pm ET Mars in Pisces will perfect a sextile to Uranus in Taurus, setting off yet another explosion of opportunity. It’s almost like the energy from Mars in a water sign and Jupiter and Uranus in an earth sign is like splashing in a puddle for fun, but there are consequences of the muddy water splashing everywhere that surprisingly start a cascade of events. So, be aware of sudden, surprising opportunities that happen tonight and over the whole weekend that just take you by surprise because you didn’t think it was possible or likely or “in the stars” for you or whatever. The energy right now is highly reactive and unpredictable.
Then at 8:50 pm ET, the Moon in Virgo forms a sesquiquadrate to Pluto in Aquarius, indicating that change is underway and it’s only a matter of time before the end result will manifest.
I would like to mention that the Moon in Virgo will be forming quincunxes to all the planets and the North Node in Aries today, and then over the weekend, making oppositions to them. In Aries we have the North Node, Mercury retrograde, Venus, and Chiron, so this means that changes to our relationships, the things we have been revising during the Mercury retrograde, and some sort of wound that needs healing are all going to be coming to a head this weekend—during the exact conjunction of Jupiter/Uranus and right before the Sun squares Pluto—so a lot of things are coming to the popping point! Hopefully, it will feel like a much-needed release of pressure, leading to a sense of calm and security. *crossing fingers!
