The Death Card—Full Moon in Sagittarius Square Neptune
Daily Horoscope for Tuesday, June 14, 2022
A few days ago, we found a dead black snake in our backyard garden. The snake had tried to go through the bird netting we put around our Three Sisters garden and in doing so, got stuck and ended up weaving itself up in the net, obviously trying to get out and break free, but unknowingly getting itself more and more tangled up until unfortunately, death was the only escape.
We are not sure how long the snake hung there, dead. My brother untangled the snake and lay it on the tree stump next to the garden. It reminded me so much of the Death card in the Motherpeace Tarot that I felt as if this snake was a sign from the Universe and I would like to start the horoscope for today there…in the garden, with the dead snake…
The Dead Snake in our Garden
XIII Death
The Death card is about change and letting go. The snake sheds its skin, watching itself go through the process of rebirth. This card is usually only signifying a metaphorical death and not a physical one, but the pain and grief caused by letting go of something inside can be just as intense as letting go of someone or something in the physical form sometimes.
I feel like this sign came to me to remind me of everything we are all letting go of right now…our world is changing, shedding its old skin, and a new world is emerging. This is happening in the greater collective and also personally in each and every one of our personal lives.
We are all transforming and changing and it’s a bit painful. The snake in the Death card has found two Birch trees to rub against and help facilitate the old skin releasing and falling off—we must use the gifts that the Universe has provided to us to help facilitate our own changes. By accepting and acknowledging that we are going through a metamorphosis, we can embrace it and honor it, and consciously open ourselves up to the process. This will allow us to lean into the change and eventually heal, revealing our new “fresh skins.”
Today is a Full Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Sun in Gemini and making a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces. I see this as an acknowledgment of the stories we’ve been living/telling ourselves and a chance to get a broader view of what they are. Sagittarius has the great ability to see the big picture, look at things through a philosophical lens, and acknowledge the greater purpose of things. This full moon gives us the chance to do just that.
What story have we been focusing on in our lives? Is this storyline right for us? Does it represent our purpose in life or our higher selves? Look back on the last two weeks since the new moon and see what you’ve accomplished! Has it been in line with the story that you want to live and experience? Or have you fallen into old patterns and old belief systems that you need to shed?
Mars is conjunct Chiron in Aries and will be exact tomorrow, but we are feeling this one big time! Where in your life are you playing the victim card? Feeling like everything is conspiring against you and you are actually going backward instead of forwards? This is not a time to go back into the construction zone (like we talked about yesterday)! You need to keep driving forward. Who in their right mind drives back into a construction zone after waiting forever to be allowed to pass through! No self-sabotage! The energies of this week are asking you to take an objective look at your life and determine if you are falling into old beliefs that lead to self-sabotage, victimhood, or the ‘poor-me’ attitude. If you are, now is the time to course-correct.
With the moon moving into Capricorn by this evening we could feel a sense of drive and ambition to do the work we need to do, emotionally, physically, or spiritually. After a day of expanded reflection and getting a grip on the big picture, we can now move ahead and go back to the never-ending task of climbing the mountain with purpose, but not if we don’t do the spiritual work.
Let’s pick another card for today—What can help us through this change?
1 Ace of Pentacles
Pentacles represent the Earth element, work, body, senses, money, home, and all things tangible.
There is a better way. There is a path of opportunity and beyond it new mountains to scale. This card represents opportunities and good fortune. A new beginning and a fruitful one!
As this card pertains to the question I asked: “What can help us through this change?” I feel like this card is a reminder to be positive and optimistic and understand that, while one thing may be dying, it is opening up a doorway for new beginnings! Death is not the end, but the beginning of something else being born. As one cycle ends, another begins.
I hope the horoscope and tarot reading were both helpful today!
