Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
The Moon is finishing in Capricorn today and moves into Aquarius late tonight at 11:41 PM ET. The biggest thing today, for the moon, is her conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn. Deep and moody emotions could come up and bring with them gothic feelings of doubt. Instead of giving everyone the silent treatment today because it’s just too much, try to focus on: the things you can change, the things that are going well, and the things that you can improve. Get your nose off the grindstone for a little bit, take a step back and feel gratitude for what you have already accomplished. It’s easy to get lost in all the stuff we have to do, in order to get where we want to go, and sometimes we forget to notice how far we’ve come. So, take a little break today and make a list of all that you’re grateful for and all the items you’ve already crossed off your list. I’m sure there are plenty.
Mercury is slowing way down, only moving 20 astronomical minutes per day right now, as he is about to station retrograde on the 9th. So, we have 3 days, counting today, to get all those things in order that we need to get organized before the retrograde. So, that’s paperwork, files, finances, bills, and car repairs—do NOT schedule a car repair during a Mercury retrograde! I know from personal experience that that does not go well. Get those repairs done now, before the 9th!
Already, I have had issues with apps not working right on my phone, the printer not working right, and other little technical difficulties here and there. So, back up your stuff. We have the awesome advantage of astrology giving us a heads up on this stuff— so why not humor me and take a few minutes to prepare for the what-ifs of a Mercury retrograde? It won’t hurt anything. Since Mercury is going retrograde in Libra this may also have to do with relationships, business dealings, or legal matters. So, don’t leave conversations, contracts, or appointments hanging—get them done and handled.
Of course, life can’t stop for a Mercury retrograde, but you’ll be happier if you made a few preparations so that your life isn’t forced to stop by one! Especially if the S.N.A.F.U. can be avoided by making a few little adjustments beforehand.
Let’s move on to the tarot reading for the day and pick a card:
10 of Wands
This card is about extreme energy. Either feeling overwhelmed by too much energy, or feeling like the creativity is exploding out of yourself!
The scene on this card is of a trance dance. The women in the background are dancing and generating powerful energy, and the women in the foreground are guiding and directing the energy by drumming, speaking in tongues, and writing (recording the experience on the clay tablet). These women have created a safe space to let it all out—all the energy, power, frustration, anger, tensions, and overwhelming feelings, in a supportive, communal space.
Wands are the element of fire and represent the three fire signs in astrology: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.
The Fire element represents energy, fire, force, action, power, authority, urgency, and spirit. Fire also represents the warmth of a physical fire, and the fire within; libido, kundalini, and sexuality.
Tens represent transformation—the ten of wands means a release of built-up energy, anxieties, tensions, strains, hopes, and fears.
I feel like this card coming up today means that some of us may feel like we’ve taken on too many things, and we’re feeling tension and strain. So, we need to find a release for the energy that’s constructive and lets it out, with the support of our communities. We may need to release these emotions by letting go of things we’ve committed ourselves to. Do something creative today to help yourself release the energy that has built up within.
