Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today the Moon is in hopeful Sagittarius all day and will be moving through this sign until she ingresses into practical Capricorn on Sunday morning.
The Sagittarius moon is optimistic, fun-loving, and joyful. When I think of the people I know who have their natal moons in Sagittarius I hear laughter and see smiles in my mind. Sagittarius Moon natives are jovial, upbeat, and ready and willing to laugh. They don’t shy away from laughing at themselves either for laughter is healing and can help lighten self-criticism or the otherwise heavier experiences in life. Their positivity is contagious, spreading smiles wherever they go.
Today the Moon in Sagittarius starts us out with a harmonious sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, bringing up deep feelings, but with a willingness to work on them, share them, and integrate them.
By mid-morning, the Moon formed a quincunx to the Sun in Taurus which can feel a bit off, like we are looking at the plan and wondering how the heck we are going to get it all done?! (For example, I have a mountain of work still to do to prepare for next year’s homeschooling and it can feel a bit overwhelming if I think about all of it at once. So, instead, I have to break it down into small, achievable tasks and mark them off the list, one by one). The best advice may be to try to relax and avoid tension, conflict, or feelings of inadequacy. The Moon is headed toward a trine to the Sun over the weekend, once she is in Capricorn, so this feeling of being at odds is only temporary.
In the evening the Moon will make a sesquiquadrate to Venus in Aries at 8:12 pm ET. The last aspect the Moon made to Venus was an opposition, then a quincunx, and now the sesquiquadrate, so this was like making a decision, dealing with the odd feeling of implementing that decision, and now we are experiencing some delays as we try to make it happen. The Moon is also moving toward a trine to Venus, as well as Mercury and Chiron, over the weekend, so we are moving toward harmony, flow, and ease. The hiccups we feel today relationally, financially, or with our values are only temporary speed bumps along the road. Since this aspect is happening in two fire signs, Sagittarius and Aries, this is like working with a lighter that won’t light; so we have to keep trying to get it to work, and finally, it does! So, be patient with yourself and others as we are all dealing with this energy.
The Weekend
Over the weekend we have some conflicting transits. First, while the Moon is in Sagittarius she will form trines to everything in Aries, Mercury, Chiron, and Venus, which are harmonious and represent easy-flowing conversations and pleasant pastimes with friends and family, but at the same time, while in Sagittarius, the Moon will form squares to Saturn, Mars, and Neptune in Pisces, all the while Mars is getting closer and closer to conjoining Neptune (which on it’s own can create a sluggish feeling like trying to move through water or like trying to drive your car when the gas is leaking out—just a lack of energy—this combination can also be dangerous for operating heavy machinery because Mars and Neptune classically are like a drunk driver on the road, so be careful out there!). The moon making squares to these three planets can represent coming up against boundaries, laws, and rules while trying to move forward physically against some sort of illusion.
I am reminded of a funny story that I just read my kids called The Missing Camel (no idea the author, sorry!), where a camel herder was walking his ten camels through the desert and he mounted one to take count of his flock but only counted nine camels so he got down to look for the missing camel, but when he turned around and counted the caravan again, there were ten camels! Confounded, he mounted a camel once more and again counted only 9! So, he got off and looked around for the camel and when he didn’t find the missing camel he went back to the herd to find ten camels lounging around in the hot sun! He went on like this for several more rounds until he finally decided, cursing Satan and the heat of the desert in the process, that he would walk instead of ride so he wouldn’t keep losing a camel! This transit sequence reminds me of this story because it demonstrates this sort of delusional action coupled with limited thinking—it must be Satan that is causing the camel to go missing!
Anyway…
Then on Sunday when the Moon ingresses into Capricorn, she will make a trine to the Sun, then trines to Uranus and Jupiter on Monday, indicating feeling in alignment with the path and surprising fortune! Venus will also be ingressing into Taurus on Monday, her own sign, which is great! We’ll talk more about that on Monday.
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
