Without further ado, here is the weekly horoscope.
Good morning, friends!
Well, this next week is pretty quiet until we get to April 1, 2024, when Mercury stations retrograde and the Moon makes her third quarter square to the Sun in Aries. The only major transit we have going on this week, besides the transits of the Moon, is Venus sextile Uranus, so this weekly forecast is going to be pretty slim. I am going to write a separate newsletter about Mercury retrograde with horoscopes for all 12 signs and post that over the weekend.
Thanks to everyone who cast a vote in the Poll about the read-aloud. The majority of you said that you only read the newsletter so I am going to skip the read-aloud most weeks and do it when I can, but not stress about it. I am keeping the Podcast for future episodes, as I have some ideas about shows that would be fun to do over the summer. I’ll keep y’all posted!
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
(All times are in Eastern Time (ET) unless mentioned otherwise)
The Weekly Overview
So, as I said this week we have Venus sextile Uranus perfecting on Thursday, March 28, 2024, followed by Mercury stationing retrograde in Aries and the third quarter Moon in Capricorn both on April 1, 2024. I have yet to decide the significance, if any, of Mercury stationing retrograde on April Fool’s Day, but I’m sure the joke will be on me!
So, let’s take a look at those charts and break them down a bit…
Venus Sextile Uranus
You can see Venus in Pisces at the top of the chart between the 11 and 12 o’clock position and Uranus on the left-hand side of the chart just past 9 o’clock and co-present with Jupiter in Taurus.
The Sextile is a 60° angle traditionally associated with Venus and means something coming together easily and harmoniously like the bond of friendship and a willingness between the planets to work together to accomplish a common goal. In this case, Venus in Pisces is looking for love, connection, spiritual meaning, and any way to express her artistic, musical, and spiritual nature and Uranus wants to shake things up that may have been stuck. Taurus is a fixed earth sign so things can get stuck in the mud there, but it’s not always a bad thing, often Taurus means putting down roots, and building something long-lasting that can endure all the changes that life throws at us, so when Uranus comes through this space of the zodiac there may be some earthquakes or tremors that create cracks in the earth, but it’s like aeration in the soil, sometimes all we need to revive a plant or a situation is a little shock and some air that allows everything to breathe and strengthen itself.
So, Venus and Uranus are working together this week to fortify and strengthen something beautiful that you’ve been working on or growing either literally or figuratively. It could also represent a new relationship, friend, or opportunity coming out of the blue that brings a breath of fresh air to your life in some way, creating space for growth and blessings.
The Moon is applying to an opposition to Uranus and then a trine to Venus on this day, so this will most likely be a day when something happens out of the blue that shakes things up and out for the better. Looks like it could be a good thing as Venus usually brings more love, beauty, and sweetness to life!
Mercury Stations Retrograde
On this chart, we can see Mercury in the upper right-hand side of the chart at about the 1 o’clock position co-present with Chiron, the North Node, and the Sun all in Aries together. Mercury retrograde in Aries symbolizes rethinking something you may have jumped the gun on in the last couple of weeks while Mercury was in his pre-retrograde shadow period. This could have to do with a project you started, a relationship that began, or a decision you made about something that seemed good at the time, but now you may be rethinking your actions.
We will get into more about this retrograde in the upcoming horoscopes this weekend, but here is the timeline for this Mercury retrograde so you can have an idea of how long this one is going to last.
Mercury Retrograde Timeline
Mercury entered the pre-shadow period on March 18, 2024, when he hit 15° Aries 50’. He will station retrograde on April 1, 2024, at 27°Aries 13’ and will move backward for three weeks, stationing direct on April 25, 2024, at 15°Aries 50’. He will officially leave the post-shadow period on May 13, 2024, when he reaches 27°Aries 13’. So, we have 24 days of retrograde followed by about 2 1/2 weeks of the post-shadow period. Here is a handy graphic that I made of Mercury’s retrograde in Aries.
Mercury retrogrades are always a time when we go back over things, rethink, reschedule, and reorganize projects, conversations, and priorities, as well as, it is typically a time when there are mechanical and technological malfunctions and glitches. Already I have been noticing some random tech glitches on my laptop and phone. Often people will experience issues with transportation since Mercury represents cars, trucks, busses, bicycles, and any means of local travel, so that is something to be aware of as well.
Some simple ideas to prepare for any Mercury retrograde would be to back up important programs and documents on your computers and make sure your vehicles are working properly as best you can before he stations retrograde. It’s also not advised to sign any important documents during a Mercury retrograde as there may end up being errors that mean you have to redo the documents.
Third Quarter Moon in Capricorn
The Moon will reach her Third Quarter phase on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 11:14 pm ET. If the sky is clear, you will be able to see the Moon between the early morning hours about 3 am ET until a little after 1 pm ET the next day. She will be a beautiful half-moon with her left side illuminated.
The Third Quarter Moon phase marks a time of mindful action. Whatever conscious actions you take could be due to a crisis in your life that you need to respond to or they could be because of the need to break away from a situation. Whatever it is, it could feel really big and dramatic or it could be something mundane and easily forgotten, but the archetype is the same and no less divine in either manifestation.
Let’s take a look at the chart for this Third Quarter Moon in Capricorn.
You can see the Moon in Capricorn at the bottom of the chart between 6 and 7 o’clock making a square to the Sun in Aries on the right side of the chart right above the 4 o’clock position.
The Moon is said to be in her detriment in Capricorn, meaning that she is the furthest away from her home sign of Cancer and therefore a bit out of her natural element.
The Moon in Capricorn is practical, business-oriented, and introspective. We could feel more goal-driven, responsible, and pessimistic when the Moon is in Capricorn. Depending on whether or not you have any planets that are touched when the Moon moves through this sign may indicate how strongly you feel the energy. Moon in Capricorn may be serious, melancholic, and moody and may be driven to do things because they are the dependable, responsible ones and this may make them feel like outsiders to those around them.
When the Moon gets to the Third Quarter phase in her cycle it is a time when we are redefining the intentions that we set during the New Moon, three weeks prior. It’s symbolic of a time in the month when you are taking stock of what you already have—what are your resources, how much do you have of x, y, or z, and do you have enough to hit your goal. You may be re-imagining what you have and turning it into something new and long-lasting for your goals are not for today, but for next year, or even ten years down the road. Capricorn is governed by Saturn and Saturn is a long-term planner.
So, what are you re-imagining? What are you tidying up or counting? What are you digging deeper into? What are you re-focusing on? These are the types of questions you may be asking yourself during this phase of the Moon.
Briefly, below you will find the house that this Third Quarter Moon in Capricorn is occurring in, according to your rising sign. Find your rising and read the house topics associated with it. You may notice a shift or a deeper focus involving one or more of those topics.

Okay, moving on to…
The Tarot Spread
Let’s move on to a 3-card spread for the week that will represent this week’s opportunities, challenges, and outcomes.
The first card representing the opportunities this week is:
8. Strength
On this card, we see a woman whose face is half-lion, half-human. The lion's side of her face represents her inner wild beast, as well as courage and strength. Beside the woman is a white lamb. Lambs represent vulnerability, but also the fun-loving, naïve nature of a baby animal. The woman’s arm is around the lamb as if she has tamed the lion inside and is harnessing her strength to protect the lamb.
8. Strength represents finding your inner strength, courage, compassion, powers of persuasion, and influence. Using your inner strength and spirit to overcome any obstacle or vulnerability that you may face.
As the card represents this week’s opportunities, I feel it is a reminder that you have the inner stamina, patience, and persistence to overcome whatever issues are coming your way right now.
The second card representing this week’s challenges is:
21. The World
On this card, we see a woman flying in the sky wearing a rainbow summer dress. She is encircled by a serpent representing the cyclical nature of life. She looks up at the serpent, her brown hair flowing in the wind, as her feet step forward, symbolizing looking at the past whilst moving towards the future.
On each side of the card, flanking the image of the woman are geometric shapes representing the four elements, fire, water, air, and earth, which traditionally correspond to the four fixed signs of the zodiac: Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus. They are also symbolic of other sets of four: the four temperaments, suits in Tarot, and the four cardinal directions.
21. The World is all about achievement and success. It’s about coming full circle and feeling a sense of completion; reaching the highest potential on this plane of existence and then moving on to the sphere of heaven.
As the card that represents this week’s challenges, I feel this may mean that it could be hard to feel successful or that you are making progress somehow. It could be that you don’t feel grounded, confident, or stable.
Another challenge could be that you are ending something and starting something new and that carries with it new responsibilities, routines, and structures that carry their struggles as you find your new rhythm.
As this card represents a whole complete cycle, the challenge could be that whatever it is takes time! It could even take a whole season or year to complete and the challenge could be having patience, endurance, and perseverance to see it through to the end.
And the third card representing the outcome is:
15. The Devil
On this card, we see a young man with wild hair glittering with starlight. His eyes peer deeply out of the card and into you. The man has a six-pointed star symbol on his bare chest and is reaching his hand out to you, gesturing for you to take it. What is hardly noticeable is that on his fingers dangle strings that are attached to a tiny gray figure who is holding their head in their hands, as if to convey that they are sad, confused, or feeling the heavy burdens of life.
15. The Devil card represents where we feel there are negative forces in our lives that are keeping us enslaved in some way and holding us back from manifesting our highest good. The Devil card represents where one is choosing instant gratification over long-term goal fulfillment. Addictions, the shadow self, attachment, restriction, and sexuality all come up with The Devil card. The Devil is a trickster, and so there is also the feeling that you have been tricked into believing something about your reality that is an illusion, like the strings around the fingers of the gray figure. You may feel trapped or bound to something that only requires you to realize you are free to unbind yourself at any time, as soon as you no longer desire that to which you are addicted.
As the card that represents the outcome, I think this means we may choose instant gratification instead of waiting for things to manifest long-term. The Devil card is a trap, so it may be good to ponder how this is playing out in your own life a bit and ask yourself, “Is there anywhere where you are opting for the quick fix instead of perhaps a slower, but better way?”
This reminds me of getting fast food instead of making a healthy meal. Oftentimes we are hungry and we need to eat, but we know deep down that fast food is not the best choice for our long-term health. The challenge is having to do the work to make the food and wait for it to be ready. This is a simple example, but the consequences can be big.
To Recap:
First, wow! All three of these cards are Major Arcana cards meaning that this is a very significant week and possibly significant decision ahead.
So…the opportunities are for us to connect with our inner strengths and protect our vulnerabilities.
The challenge may be that whatever it is that we want to do takes time to complete and discipline to see it through.
The outcome is that we may be tempted by some sort of instant gratification or illusion of immediate satisfaction. So, we must use our inner strength to resist the easy, quick fix! Keep driving past that Wendy’s and go home and make something healthy instead!
Of course, this reading could pertain to something to do with work, relationships, or family situations, so please, apply the archetypes and the symbolism to your own life and as always, take the ideas that resonate with you and leave the rest.
Seems like a very fitting reading for eclipse season!!
In conclusion for the weekly forecast…
This week there could be some things that come out of the blue and shake things up a bit, hopefully for the better. The Mercury retrograde and Third Quarter Moon coming up will allow us the time to slow down a bit and reflect on the decisions and actions we’ve been making and make corrections and pivots where needed.
I would love to hear your thoughts!
I hope this is helpful!
