Welcome to the Weekend! Prepare for the Shifts...
Weekend horoscope for Saturday and Sunday July 2-3, 2022
Here’s a little made-up story for the energy of this weekend…
Friday— Fights break out between family members about what to pack for the weekend or what to bring to eat.
Saturday— Everyone wants to have fun, but they know they’re going to need a designated driver. You have to decide if you’re going to be drinking or be the responsible one and not drink for the good of the group. You decide to be the DD. On your way to the BBQ, you run out of gas and have to walk a mile to fill up your can. You’re pissed because you told your spouse to fill up when they went out earlier to buy the groceries for the BBQ, and they forgot. But, it’s cool, you get to listen to a podcast on the way to the gas station about the body’s ability to heal itself. When you get back to the car, everyone has fallen asleep in the mid-day sun. You feel resentful because you had to do all the work. Finally, you get the car moving again and you go to the BBQ, watch your buddies drink, and have fun, while you stay sober so you can drive everyone home. The party ends late, so you go to bed late.
Sunday—You wake up in the morning and you’re tired, but happy that the party was yesterday and now you get to relax at home with your family. You still have to clean out the car and the cooler, but other than that, you can relax and reflect on your life. At least that’s what you think, but you and your partner get into some heated discussions about your relationship and it’s time to face some truths. This makes the chill day a bit of an intense one…on one hand, you have nothing pressing to do, but on the other hand, you have these deep conversations about your values, your relationship, and maybe even your finances. It’s emotionally hard work.
What astrology was this storytime based on?
Friday we had the Mars/Pluto square which could’ve brought up fights, or weird little moments before the weekend. Hopefully, you didn’t get into any arguments or ugly spots with people.
First thing Saturday morning is a square between the Moon in Leo, and Uranus in Taurus— this also means that the Moon is square the North and South Nodes.
Mercury will also be squaring over to Neptune and simultaneously making a trine over to Saturn. We could feel a little bit disoriented or foggy in the head, but since we generally know where we’re going it’s not that big a deal. There could be a little hiccup in the ideal plan, but overall we make it to our destination.
All morning on Saturday the Moon is building up to an opposition to Saturn. This is going to bring up a lot of energy where we want to have fun and shine this weekend, but others could get in the way and try to restrict the fun energy. It could also be as simple as you feeling upbeat and happy and the group that you’re with being lame and pessimistic, and bringing the energy down. This could also manifest the other way around, maybe you’re the one who is being pessimistic and overly responsible this weekend and the people you’re with want to have fun!
Sunday, the moon moves into Virgo so we want to clean up our environment and get our chores done so we can enjoy the day. This is coupled with a sesquisquadrate between Venus and Pluto and a quincunx between Mercury and Pluto, so, there are bound to be conversations about deep, penetrating topics that leave you feeling vulnerable about love, relationships, money, and what you think and feel about all of those things. Cans of worms will be opened. There will be nothing to do, but process all the emotions that come up. Good luck getting those worms back into the can!
This weekend is a turning point and then starting on Monday, it’s like the cogs in the gears fall into place and the machine starts going. Pay attention to what comes up and who or what in your life feeds your soul and who or what is an emotional drain. Go towards situations that feel positive and inspiring, rather than negative and pessimistic.
In a lot of ways, I feel like the New Moon in Cancer that we just had on the 28th of June, square Jupiter in Aries, was like Jim Carrey’s character in the movie Yes Man. His character goes to a convention that convinces him to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity that comes his way! In doing so, he meets amazing people, experiences amazing things, and falls in love. This is such a great example of the Jupiter in Aries energy square the New Moon in Cancer, in my opinion. This energy is flavoring the whole month:
Being adventurous and figuring it out along the way.
Saying yes to the people and opportunities that come into your life.
Being open to the new experiences that show up, and trusting our hearts!
The square energy is forcing us to take some risks and step out of our comfort zones. It’s going to be a very interesting and pivotal month of the year, overall.
Let’s pick a rune for the weekend:
23. Standstill
Isa, That Which Impedes, Ice
“…What you are experiencing is not necessarily the result of your actions, your habits, but of the conditions of the time, against which you can do nothing. What has been full must empty; what has increased much decrease. This is the way of Heaven and Earth. To surrender is to display courage and wisdom.” (Blum, 1982)
I would love to hear what you think this rune means for you. Please leave a comment! I have enabled comments for all subscription tiers.
For me, I feel that this rune is saying to remember that during Winter, everything looks dead, but that doesn’t mean everything is. There are tiny seeds germinating under the soil or going through very important natural stratification processes in order to know when to germinate. Nothing is dead or lost, it’s just all beneath the surface. So even if we feel like there’s nothing happening, it’s not true. Spring will come and thaw all the seeds and they will sprout! So, have patience for the divine timing of the process.
I hope this horoscope and reading are helpful!
Until tomorrow,
