This morning I had a dream that I went into a candy shop to buy my husband something sweet as a gift. I was looking at all the dispensers of individual candies like Red Hots, jelly beans, and other chewy candies when I spotted a small package of Hot Tamales. I was contemplating asking the clerk to get one down for me when he started talking to me. He was going on and on about an employee that had been fired, but not by him, which I thought was odd because he was the owner. I didn’t really understand what he was talking about, but I didn’t want to be rude, so I listened. At the end of his diatribe, he said, “What about the President?!” like the President had some sort of obligation to get this employee back for him or something.
Upon waking up, those words echoed in my mind, “What about the President?!” I went about my morning in the usual way, collecting all the things to do my writing before I left the bedroom: laptop, phone, any books I may need, and then quietly I crept out, careful not to disturb the sleeping inhabitants of my bed.
When I looked at the transits this morning, the first and most noticeable thing that I saw was a trine between the Sun and the Moon and another one forming between the Moon and Saturn, all in air signs: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. In Mundane astrology, the Sun can represent authority figures, the king or Queen, the president or the leader of a country, and Saturn represents local law enforcement, civil servants, land owners, and the elderly population. The Moon represents the general people of the country. So, it’ll be interesting to watch how this transit plays out in the bigger picture. If you read anything that seems to fit this transit, let me know in the comments!
How about for us? Starting the morning off with a couple of trines like this means an easy-going morning, where your inner authority, your emotions, and the structures in your life are all working together in a harmonious way. Your daily habits just seem to be on auto-pilot, like mine were.
The next most notable aspect that the Moon is making is a YOD, “A Finger of God,” between Neptune and Mercury, all before Mercury perfects its trine with Pluto. A YOD is when a planet or luminary (in this case, the Moon), makes two quincunxes, 150-degree angles, with two planets at the same time while those two planets are making a 60-degree angle known as a sextile, forming a thin pie-shaped aspect. This aspect represents simply a destined moment, when things may feel chaotic, but you will find your own truth through the chaos.
Neptune is the planet of illusion and loss. The sextile between it and Mercury is separating, but we may still be feeling the effects.
So, this grand trine and this YOD are going on for most of this morning/early afternoon until the moon goes Void of Course at 1:37 PM Eastern, where she isn’t making any exact aspects to anything, and remember—she is still traveling through the “burnt path”, the Via Combusta , which we talked about yesterday, making her stressed out at the same time, until entering the sign of Scorpio at 4:41 pm Eastern.
Almost at the exact same time as the Moon ingresses into Scorpio, Mercury and Pluto form their trine within one astronomical minute of each other, perfecting it to the exact degree and minute at 5:03 PM.
Mercury is the planet of communication, local travel, news, and the media.
Pluto is the planet of power and control, change, regeneration, and birth or rebirth and can indicate, in Mundane astrology, violent crimes such as rape and murder, and also political underground organizations.
The easy and harmonious aspect of the trine between these two planets will mean for us, personally, that we may be able to have deep and meaningful conversations with people and as a nation, we could see information about the above topics come to the surface and we may hear about it in the media or the media, with the Neptune influence still in play, could twist the truth, making it hard to see what’s real.
And tomorrow, the big news is the conjunction between Venus and Uranus in Taurus! We may start to feel the effects of this important transit today and through the weekend. So, just to give you a heads up, these two energies coming together could bring about revolutionary feelings within our relationships, our values, and our finances. We could feel the need to break out from the constraints we have placed upon ourselves or society has placed upon us and do something wild and free! If you start to feel the rebelliousness in you today coming to the surface, it could be this aspect that you are connecting with. Depending upon the house in your natal chart that this aspect falls within will give greater insight into where in your life you may feel this rebellion, revolution, or change.
Tomorrow, I will break down this transit for each sign and give a weekend horoscope for each.
The card for today is:
IX Couche´
Sleeping in a hut, minding your own business, and then these birds just come in squawking and squawking! Waking you up! This could make you angry, or you may feel grumpy today as you are woken up with some sort of loud, blaring news.
We are being woken up by something loud today. Maybe it’s a character in a dream saying, “What about the President?!” Maybe it’s your alarm clock or an emergency alert alarm going off on your phone. Maybe it’s your cat, spilling the water on your bedside table into your face, on accident (yeah, right?). Whatever it is today that either figuratively or literally wakes you up, you are simply being asked to, “wake up.”
The above was my intuitive interpretation of this card, not knowing exactly which card was represented here in traditional tarot and what the author/artist of this card was trying to convey…then I read the interpretation!
In traditional tarot, this card is represented by the Hermit and the artwork on this card is supposed to be a picture of a ritual called, Couche´, where initiates go into a womb-like hut where the “Mysteries are revealed” and then they are rebirthed back into society. At each of their feet lies dead chickens, as sacrifices to feed the “divine within the candidate”, and then after being cooked: sustenance for their humanly form. This represents the fact that life depends on taking the life of other creatures and this sacred relationship should be honored. This ceremony is a ritual for spiritual growth.
The Hermit is also the “way-shower,” and I feel like this card is telling us that we are gestating in the “womb,” of ourselves so that when we emerge we can show others the way. Or maybe it is showing us that we would be wise to take some time and retreat within in order for the Mysteries to reveal themselves, either way, it is a powerful card and seems to really tie in with the Mercury/Pluto trine today.
Until tomorrow,
AstroMommy
Today’s horoscope was brought to you by: the aspects of the Moon today and the Mercury/Pluto trine.
Today’s tarot card was pulled from The New Orleans VooDoo Tarot available through my Amazon affiliate link here. The box for this deck died long ago, so I made a patchwork-style reversible drawstring bag for my deck. I have thought about making more of these bags for tarot card decks and offering them in my Etsy shop, what do you think? Would you ever consider purchasing a patch-work style drawstring bag for your tarot decks? Let me know!
