Good afternoon, friends!
Friday’s Moon conjunct Venus and trine Mars turns up the heat, revving our engines as we prepare to embark on a totally new kind of world.
Saturn’s imminent ingress into Aries, the Sun in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius retrograde, and Mercury’s conjunction to Uranus in Taurus, all happen on Saturday, and Mercury leaves Taurus and enters Gemini on Sunday.
This means we are on the edge of change this weekend, and transformation could be swift and feel somewhat instant. The news about this will come in like an earthquake, possibly rocking our world a bit. So, it’s time to brace ourselves, this weekend is coming in hot!
Okay, let’s get into….the astrology
(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)
FRIDAY, May 23, 2025
On Friday, the Moon will be in Aries all day, and this could give us the guts, courage, and energy to jump into new territories, new opportunities, or new adventures.
The most potent transit of the day is when the Moon in Aries forms a trine to Mars in Leo and then shortly after conjoins Venus in Aries. Let’s take a look at the chart of their conjunction.
You can see the Moon and Venus on the right-hand side of the chart at about the 3 o’clock position, both at 17°Aries 22’, and Mars in Leo on the left-hand side of the chart in between 10 and 11 o’clock at 16°Leo 47’.
The Moon and Mars in a fiery trine like this represent action, energy, and drive to do things. You could find yourself taking the lead in a situation or volunteering for the adventure. This energy is not shy, cowardly, or introverted; it is bold, brave, and extroverted.
Like the character, Mole, in the movie Atlantis, you may be eager to be the chosen one.
“I will do it! I volunteer!”
The Moon and Venus together in Aries show that there is a beauty, a grace, and a fierceness to the situation that emboldens the spirit.
If you are an air or fire sign, then you may notice that people are drawn to you, warming themselves with your light, your joy, and your positivity.
If you are a water or earth sign then this combination may challenge or scare you a bit because it may feel forceful, aggressive, and loud.
This is definitely a combination in the sky that lights up the fire and air sign houses and placements in your natal or solar return charts, and it could be very invigorating, like a high-intensity workout.
This is very fast and positive energy, though, so take advantage of its swift action and harmonious nature to get things done, take the lead on a project, or be brave enough to go out of your comfort zone today. It’s also a brilliant combination for a date night or turning up the heat in a relationship.
Coming up tomorrow, Saturn enters Aries, the Sun in Gemini forms a trine to Pluto in Aquarius retrograde, and Mercury conjoins Uranus. Reality shifts pretty quickly with surprising news!
SATURDAY, May 24, 2025
The Moon starts out the day in fiery Aries but quickly tempers herself by entering earthy Taurus in the afternoon. So, it is a transition day when we may feel like we’ve done enough exploring and blazing new trails, and now it is time to stay put and focus on what we have.
At 11:55 pm, the Sun in Gemini forms a trine to Pluto in Aquarius retrograde, indicating a fast and swift change or transformation occurring in our deep subconsciousness. We may feel as if our purpose in this life is finally becoming clear. We’ve been doing deep transformational work, and these insights and reflections are coming to light, shining in the sun, and sparkling with a sense of soulful renewal. Additionally, something that was hidden or covert gets exposed, and we could see this in the news.
In the evening at 7:15 pm, Mercury conjoins Uranus in Taurus, and this represents an “Ah-ha!” moment, a sudden message coming in, or a news report that shakes things up. In Taurus, this could feel a bit shaky, like an earthquake that threatens the stability of your world, but it’s not meant to frighten you, but to wake you up to new information that brightens the mind, invigorates the senses with a burst of electrical signals, and gets you thinking.
Right after this, the Moon will square Pluto retrograde from Taurus to Aquarius, respectively, activating the recently illuminated self-discoveries and feeling them in the body, with the senses, through our sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. We could literally feel ourselves changing. This could also be about dealing with the news exposing something that was hidden and having to integrate and face that information.
Saturn will enter Aries at 11:35 pm ET. This is the most potent of the transits for the day, so let’s look at the chart of his ingress.
Saturn Enters Aries
You can see Saturn at the bottom of the chart at 00°Aries 00’, right next to Neptune, who is only 1 degree and 43’ of arc ahead. Saturn will not reach Neptune before it stations retrograde, which is very interesting, but they are within the 3-degrees of engagement for the next 5 months.
Saturn represents boundaries, limitations, and the tests and trials that we experience in our lifetimes, and Neptune is the planet that comes along and dissolves the boundaries that Saturn sets, so they are two very different energies: Saturn contracts, restricts, and strangles, and Neptune diffuses, dissolves, and deceives.
Saturn teaches maturity, mastery, and responsibility through the “School of Hard Knocks” and Neptune offers classes in illusion, compassion, and spirituality, an educational program that explores how the mind and heart may play tricks on us through mirage, fog, and projection, as well as how to deepen our connection with the divine, the imagination, and our innate creative intelligence and abilities.
In horary astrology, Aries is said to be a “bestial” sign, represented by the symbol of the Ram; it is an aggressive sign that pushes, confronts, and asserts itself. Aries is described as fast, urgent, and willful, a leader, a go-getter, or an excited coach. So when Saturn enters the sign of Aries, these characteristics will be tested. Saturn will ask Aries to train with discipline, control its urges, and resist the fast and furious and embrace the long and steady pace of endurance.
What this means for us is that whatever house Aries rules in your chart, it is about to get a visit from Saturn, who will require that we harness and focus the flames of Aries into a steady, solid foundation built with discipline and endurance. It won’t be easy, but it may be rewarding in the long term.
Let’s explore Saturn in Aries for each of the Sun/Rising signs.
Saturn in Aries Horoscopes
Aries
Saturn in Aries will be in your first house of self, health, and immediate environment. You may feel the weight of being your authentic self during this time. Health issues could come up that require patience and fortitude. Limitations on your resources and heavy responsibilities could feel like burdens, and you may have to dig deep to find enough energy reserves to power through. You can do it, Aries, remember who you are. You are a powerhouse of energy, always ready for the next thing. Prove to Saturn that you are as tough as you claim to be by not giving up, and you’ll be rewarded in the end.
Taurus
Saturn in Aries will be in your twelfth house of blind spots, hidden enemies, and mental health. This could be a bit of a trial, Taurus, I’m not going to lie, as Saturn will be steam-rolling the kinks out of your subconscious and ironing out any old programs you’ve been running that have kept you from doing what you’ve said you wanted to do. The next 2 ½ years will be about developing your mental and internal endurance. It may be hard to see the reasons for Saturn’s harsh demands, but what he is teaching you is how to apply yourself. This is important because when he enters your first house in 2 ½ years, you will be spiritually ready to take the tests he puts before you.
Gemini
Saturn in Aries will be in your eleventh house of friends, allies, and groups. This placement will be an easier one than where Saturn has been the last 2 ½ years, in your Pisces tenth house of career, where he tested you in ways that were not very pleasant, asking you how much you really wanted that career you had set your heart on years prior and it got really hard and I’m sure you wanted to quit several times! If you made it through and didn’t quit, good for you. If you decided to quit, don’t beat yourself up; it just means that you didn’t really want it. So, now, in the 11th house, Saturn is forming a sextile to your Gemini first house, and this means that he will act like a support, an ally, or a friend who is there to walk beside you as you figure out where your niche is. The friends you have may show up for you, but I wouldn’t expect too many new friendships to develop during this time. Accept the support and friendship of the ones who are already there for you, and do your best not to fear them leaving you at the party or abandoning you at the basketball game. Learn to trust your friends, for isn’t that what you truly desire? A group of friends that you can trust to have your back? With Neptune in this space already, you’ve undoubtedly felt a longing for community, but with Saturn entering this space, he will test how much you truly want it by withholding growth and expansion. Remember, it’s about quality friendships over quantity.
Cancer
Saturn in Aries will be traveling through your tenth house of career, praxis, and the mother. You could experience a lot of tests during this time, surrounding how badly you want to be doing what you’re doing for your career. You may feel drained, uninspired, and want to throw in the towel. Things at work may not go as quickly as you’d like them to, and it could feel very discouraging. Your mother may go through some hard things during this time, and you could be called to her aid. This time period is about discipline and showing up for work even when you don’t want to go. Your career could feel very draining and exhausting at times, but if you really want it, you’ll have to learn how to power through the dog days. Just remember the discipline you learn and master during this time is setting you up for future success.
Leo
Saturn in Aries will be in your ninth house of higher education, long-distance travel, religion, and beliefs. I like this placement for Saturn as it can actually be very inspiring. Saturn in this house gives you a lot of support and inspires you to invest in yourself through study, exploring the world, and learning all about your beliefs or the belief systems that you are drawn to. You could find yourself studying religion or astrology, starting a school program, or taking a job abroad that gives you more responsibilities. Saturn here supports you because Aries forms a trine to Leo; thus, instead of Saturn thwarting your progress, he actually helps it along by opening doors for you. I have also noticed that when Saturn goes through this space, you could get the grant or qualify for the financial assistance you applied for.
Virgo
Saturn in Aries will be in your eighth house of other people’s money, investments, death and rebirth, and soul contracts. This is a very complex house and has to do with how you are supported by other people on a financial level, because it is literally “other people’s money” but also on a spiritual level because this house shows the soul bonds and contracts that we have with family and significant others in our lives. When Saturn moves through this space, you may notice an increased awareness of your mortality, and end-of-life planning may become front and center on your mind. You may decide to write your will, get life insurance, or start a serious savings fund. It’s not unusual for a person to be preoccupied with death and mortality, financial stability, investments, and long-term financial goals when Saturn goes through this house. You could make some serious investments during this time. So, the next 2 ½ years may inspire you to focus on these things, so don’t feel weirded out or freaked out if this happens; it is all part of the natural process. Make your plans and then relax in the knowledge that you’ve made your final arrangements.
Libra
Saturn will be in your seventh house of relationships, partnerships, and legal matters. This placement will test your relationships. If they are strong and built on solid foundations, they will pass the tests, but if they are weak and have cracks and holes, they will crumble. I don’t mean to scare those of you who are in relationships right now, but do be forewarned that the next 2 ½ years will be about major pressure tests and restructuring in your relationships. This could pertain to your business partnerships as well. This house also deals with legal issues, court trials, and all that, but could show up as issues your spouse is having to deal with, or maybe they have to go to jury duty! Since this is the house of other people, most likely you will be tempted to blame others for things, pointing the finger at them instead of taking responsibility for your part. This is Saturn testing your emotional maturity. Own up to your part of the situation and work on the art of compromise. You will be learning a lot during this time about how to relate to others and endure relationship pressures. You could experience distance or isolation from your spouse or significant other, and this is meant as a test to see what you are capable of enduring within the relationship.
Scorpio
Saturn in Aries will be moving through your sixth house of sickness and stress, pets, and co-workers. It’s also the house of “chop wood, carry water,” those daily tasks that you have to perform for survival, that are not rewarded or even noticed. With Saturn here, you are being asked to pay attention to your health and wellness, your stress levels, and how much you give and sacrifice for others. It brings up martyrdom, big time. So, it’s important to practice good self-care habits that renew your batteries. Practice positive self-talk that supports you so you can withstand the stress. Ask for help if you need it. You may feel older or notice the signs of aging and be inspired to take up a new health routine or regimen to counteract those fears. You could feel the pressures of work or from your co-workers, who stress you out. A pet could go through something challenging that tests your capabilities as their caretaker. These challenges are meant to mature you, make you more responsible, and more aware of your limitations. Take it easy while Saturn is in this house and remember that Saturn slows things down and applies pressure to see how strong things are; take these as cues to work on your stamina, endurance, and resilience. You’ve got this, Scorpio.
Sagittarius
Saturn in Aries will be moving through your fifth house of pleasure, children, pregnancy, and creativity. Wherever Saturn goes, he inhibits and reduces, bringing the energy back in rather than pushing it out, so in the house of pleasure, there could be a call to focus on what brings you pleasure. It won’t be about adding more items to your plate, but rather about spending some quality time with what you already have on your plate and savoring all of the morsels. It will be more about slow and steady creative progress than fast and quick exploding wins. Saturn here is in a trine to your sign, and so he will be a supportive influence that may guide you like a mentor, teaching you how to tune into your creativity and hone your skills by working hard, practicing hard, and being disciplined. You are being called to rise up to your creative calling and show Saturn that you really want it with your dedication, patience, and endurance.
Capricorn
Saturn in Aries will be moving through your fourth house of home, family, ancestors, and roots. This will be a bit of a struggle. Something could be going on at home that requires a lot of restructuring of the household. Ancestral karma may be going through some pretty big adjustments, and you could see familial bonds break or form during this time. A new baby or family member could enter or exit the scene and require a lot of adjustments by all of the family members. Your house of home could go through a period of dullness, lack of beauty, or appeal. Something could break that needs to be fixed. Someone older than you could come to live with you. Your career and homelife could become more demanding, and thus you could feel pulled in two directions at once, and sacrifices will need to be made between one or the other. Your parents could go through a reversal of their roles in the family dynamic.
Aquarius
Saturn in Aries will be moving through your third house of siblings, local environment, and your voice/message/communication style. This could bring some tests between you and your siblings, but ultimately, I think you may find that they are on your side and would like to impart their wisdom. It will be your job to set your opinions aside and listen with an open mind. Your daily route and regular rhythm could get smaller and simpler, you may be trying to conserve resources or cause less wear and tear to your vehicle. An elderly neighbor could move in next door who becomes your friend and ally, sharing their wisdom with you. You may decide to simplify your message or get really good at your daily discipline of writing, communicating, or returning emails. If you are a writer, then this will feel a bit stifling, but if you embrace the stamina and endurance that Saturn is trying to teach you, you will feel good that you practiced this skill. Your communications with others could become less, but the ones you have may be richer and more meaningful, as you prune down who you let into your daily life. Only those people who are not caught up in the drama and their own emotional immaturity will be allowed to occupy any of your time, because you won’t have any space or tolerance for it.
Pisces
Saturn in Aries will be moving through your second house of money and possessions. This placement won’t be the best for your bank account, but it may feel nice to have Saturn leave your first house of self, health, and immediate environment. At least the pressure of forming who you are is off a bit. But, the pressure is applying itself to your finances, possessions, and the skills that you have for survival. This is not a time to overspend or get into debt, especially with this first year of Saturn in this house, also having Jupiter in Cancer, where he is exalted and expands things to the point of bursting! So, please listen to me and do not get into any debt that you can’t already handle. Debt is not free money.
This is a time to purge your life of things that no longer support you financially, emotionally, or spiritually. Maybe you decide to give minimalism a try? Maybe you just finally clear out your basement of crap. Maybe you trim down your credit cards to only one. If you are able to manage your finances during this time in a responsible way, then the test that Saturn brings in your second house will be less painful, but if not, then this could be 2 ½ years of penny pinching and bill collectors. Saturn is trying to teach you how to be prudent, responsible, and mature with your money, possessions, and your skills of survival. Be a good student and learn to be self-disciplined. You may not have a lot of money or possessions during this time, but if you embrace this and remember quality over quantity, you will avoid the risk of falling into a scarcity mindset or debt. Pass Saturn’s tests and you will come out better equipped to handle life’s financial ups and downs once he leaves Aries in 2 ½ years. Saturn is teaching you how to live with less so that when you have more, you know how to handle it. How you do one thing is how you do everything, as they say.
I hope you enjoyed these horoscopes!
Coming up tomorrow, Mercury enters Gemini and sextiles Saturn: a new way of thinking and communicating that is supported by the structures around you.
SUNDAY, May 25, 2025
On Sunday, Mercury leaves Taurus and enters Gemini and then forms a sextile to Saturn in Aries. Let’s look at the chart:
You can see Mercury in Gemini at about 3 o’clock, and Saturn is at the bottom right of the chart at about 5 o’clock.
Mercury is at home in Gemini, and that is wonderful!
Mercury is the planet of what we think, say, and do with our minds and our hands. Mercury rules the hands, tongue, and mental processes. Mercury has to do with our communication styles and writing abilities.
Author and astrologer, Christopher Renstrom, says that “The messenger of the gods, Mercury, was the only one who could travel from heaven to earth to hell and back again. He knew all the ins and outs, all the names and passwords. He knew who to coax, who to butter up, who to threaten, and who to bribe. Mercury helps you find your way in life. It’s the planet responsible for getting you from here to there.” (Renstrom, 2020)1
In Gemini, this means that we may be thinking more cognitively, putting all the puzzle pieces together with ease, doing math, figuring out the computations, and looking at all the data available. We may be more curious about what is going on with people and want to know all the details because human behavior is fascinating to a Gemini. We could find that people are more talkative and interested in asking questions.
It could be a fun time. :)
Mercury’s almost immediate sextile to Saturn in Aries, right after his ingress, suggests that mentally we are ready for the shift in perspective that Saturn is bringing, and we are willing to figure things out, make it work, and apply the new skills that Saturn wants to teach us. We are eager to be good students, and this is great. This transit happening at the start of Saturn’s time in Aries makes an imprint on the whole cycle, and means that there will be less resistance to what Saturn is going to teach over the next 2 ½ years, and I’m all for that!
Since Mercury just left a conjunction to Uranus in Taurus, which could’ve represented a sudden message coming in or a news report, this next sextile to Saturn means that the authority figures are on our side, elderly folks have our backs, or a trusted guide or mentor is giving us support. Maybe even a rule or regulation is working out in your favor. The sextile shows support and possibilities, so this means that there is a supportive structure in place to help hold up your message or carry you on your journey.
The Tarot Cards
Let’s see what the cards have to say. We will do a Past, Present, and Future spread to keep it simple.
What is the guidance for this weekend?
Past
Priestess of Cups
In the recent past, you’ve been managing your emotions very well. Learning how to control your emotional response but also go with the flow, riding the waves of emotion like a seasoned surfer, with confidence, ease, and grace. There have probably been many opportunities to practice your resolve and emotional maturity.
Present
XII Hanged One
In the present moment you may feel as if you are in a state of limbo, hanging from a tree by the grace of a coiled snake around your limb, you do not feel in control and thus have to surrender and trust the Universe as you are initiated into a new state of consciousness, awareness, and environment. The Hanged One is like being in the estuary between the ocean and the river—it’s a mix of what was: what we knew before, and what is coming up: what we don’t know—and our task, as we try to find our footing in this fluid, bottomless, swirl of creative energy is to pause, surrender, and keep an open mind. Things are changing, and we are in the middle of the middle of the middle of this change, suspended in time like a cartoon floating in between frames. Be open to the outcome and surrender to the new picture, new story, and the new you that is forming.
The Hanged One precedes The Death card, so it is the moment right before the impact of the next big step, major pivot point, or new reality, and it is a place of acceptance.
Future
VIII Strength & 5 of Cloaks (Wands)
Coming up soon is a time of challenge and conflict, but thankfully, you are strong, resilient, and have an unshakeable resolve. You can handle anything that life throws at you, like Lieutenant Worf of The Enterprise. It may not be easy, and it will require internal toughness, but you can do it.
The 5 of Cloaks represents conflict, competition, and fighting for something or against something, and the VIII Strength card indicates being strong in the face of obstacles that you encounter in your outer world or your inner world. The fight could be a completely internal battle as you are met with challenges of thought, heart, and purpose, or it could be an external battle where your resolve, steadiness, and compassion are tested amid crisis or conflict. Whichever way it comes about for you, just remember, you’ve got this! You were born in these times to be in these times. The world may ask you to show up and be strong, and this is not a time to shy away, but embrace your destiny with all of your heart.
Does this reading and horoscope resonate with you? I would love to know.
So, as you go about your weekend, remember that we are in a time of profound change. Things may not change overnight, but the planets symbolize that the next part of the road is going to be different. The cards indicate that we have what we need to face these challenges, tests, and trials by staying grounded and secure in who we are and in our training as souls meant to live during these times. It is an honor to walk this path with you all.
I hope this is helpful!
Until Monday,
AstroMommy
