Good morning, friends!
Today is the Third Quarter Moon in Pisces, marking a crisis moment in the lunar cycle when we think about what we’ve been doing over the last month and decide what has been working and what hasn’t—we then take this information and turn it into something meaningful, useful, or creative.
After the Third Quarter Moon perfects, the Moon will move into Aries, taking our dreams and turning them into tangible actions. We finish the day with a challenging square from Jupiter to Neptune (and the Moon) that puts us in the fog of doubt, questioning our visions for the future. Is our big, beautiful plan sustainable, ideal, or realistic? Is it too lofty and unmanageable, or does it cause too many casualties along the way?
These are all questions that today’s astrology brings up—the tarot’s guidance? To take a moment to pause and put down all the worries and pressures of blazing a path forward, and instead invest our spirit and our focus in the steady and methodical work, crafting something tangible and useful in the right now.
It is in the peaceful silence of routine work that we may find the answers that give us real hope for the future.
But first, before we get into the details of today’s horoscope and card reading—I want to take a moment to wish my sister a very Happy Birthday! 🎉
May today be as beautiful as you are. Thank you for being such a wonderful sister. 💛
Happy Birthday!
*Updates and Housekeeping*
This week, I am preparing to leave for my trip to California on Friday, so I am creating a sort of “Vacation Mode” set of horoscopes for the time I am traveling—June 20-July 3, 2025. For these two weeks, the horoscopes will be shorter but hopefully provide enough guidance and insight to help us navigate the waters ahead.
Okay, let’s get into...the astrology
(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)
Third Quarter Moon in Pisces
Early in the morning—before the Third Quarter Moon perfects this afternoon—the Moon conjoined the North Node in Pisces, representing an increase in emotions, communication with our intuition, or with spirit.
The Moon will reach her Third Quarter phase today at 3:19 pm at 27°Pisces 47’. If the sky is clear, you will be able to see the Moon between the early morning hours, about 2 am ET until a little after noon the next day. She will be a beautiful half-moon with her left side illuminated.
The Third Quarter Moon marks a time of mindful action. Whatever conscious actions you take could be due to a calamity in your life that you need to respond to, or they could be because of the need to break away from a situation. Whatever it is, it could feel really big and dramatic, or it could be something mundane and easily forgotten, but the archetype is the same and no less divine in either manifestation.
Let’s take a look at the chart for this Third Quarter Moon in Pisces.
You can see the Moon in Pisces on the right-hand side of the chart at about the 3 o’clock position, making a square to the Sun in Gemini at the top of the chart. The Sun is days away from entering Cancer and conjoining Jupiter, so it feels like there’s a lot on the line right now in terms of our beliefs and attitudes.
The Moon governs our emotions, and when the Moon is in Pisces, we take a swim through the “emotion ocean.”
The Moon in each element has a different way of experiencing the “emotion ocean,” the territory of our internal landscape, where we process our feelings.
The earth signs have wooden ships that they can use to sail across, this gives them the luxury of looking at the beautiful water, but they don’t have to touch it.
The fire signs dance across the tops of the waves like lightning in a storm, creating steam and a dazzling show that you can’t ignore and that can also get scary at times.
The air signs fly high above the waves, detached and carefree, catching the chitter-chatter of the birds as they swoop by and the laughter that bubbles up from the froth.
The water signs are IN the water.
The water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces have to swim through the waves to get anywhere and oftentimes they have to sink all the way down to the bottom of the “emotion ocean” and make their journey from there--at the bottom.
Walking in the ocean is hard work—the pressure from the water creates strong resistance and the currents can push, pull, suck, and spin you all around. It can be really confusing. It can be really dark and scary. It can also be beautiful.
So, we may feel the heavy emotional pressure as we navigate these transits.
When the Moon gets to the Third Quarter phase in her cycle, it is a time when we are redefining the intentions that we set during the New Moon in Gemini, three weeks prior. It’s symbolic of a time in the month when we are taking stock of what we already have, re-imagining it, and turning it into something new and long-lasting.
With the Pisces archetype, these usually end up being expressions of art, music, spirituality, or compassion.
So…
What are you re-imagining?
What are you dreaming up?
What are you artfully crafting?
What kind of suffering are you soothing with your understanding and compassion?
What kind of relaxing art are you allowing yourself to get lost in?
These are the types of questions you may be asking yourself during this phase of the Moon.

Transits following the Third Quarter Moon
After the Third Quarter Moon perfects, the Moon in Pisces forms a semisquare to Venus, a sextile to Uranus, and then ingresses into Aries at 7:09 pm ET. This means that we have a great shift today—we go from dreaming to doing, from foggy vision to a battle cry. Aries initiates and acts; it doesn’t wait!
Once in Aries, the Moon makes a series of intense aspects this evening—a quincunx to Mars in Virgo, a conjunction to Saturn, and then simultaneously, the Moon squares Jupiter, and conjoins Neptune. This little dance shows that we may encounter resistance or feel misunderstood. Our bold plans might be met with doubt or skepticism. Still, Aries charges forward anyway.
We finish the night with Jupiter’s square to Neptune perfecting at 11:16 pm ET.
According to astrologer Reinhold Ebertin, in his book The Combination of Stellar Influences1, the combined energies of Jupiter and Neptune can bring “apparent happiness” and “speculation.” When stressed in a hard aspect, it indicates confusion between the ideal and the real, dreamy thinking, or misguided optimism. This can show up as misdiagnoses, wastefulness, or getting swept up in illusions—especially political or social ones.
Let’s look at the chart.
Jupiter Square Neptune and the Moon
We can see Jupiter in Cancer on the right-hand side of the chart at the 4 o’clock position, and the Moon, Neptune, and Saturn at the bottom of the chart between 6 and 7 o’clock. Jupiter’s square to Saturn and Saturn’s conjunction to Neptune are both still in effect during this transit, so the ideas of restriction and boundaries are still there. The Moon is still in a partile conjunction to Neptune, as well, which means that we will feel this aspect emotionally.
Ebertin says that the three together, Jupiter, Neptune, and the Moon, produce “little sense of reality, the desire to dream [big], [and] the tendency to lose oneself in plans.” With all the Aries energy, I feel this could represent charging ahead with a big, beautiful plan that perhaps you haven’t totally thought all the way through. Sometimes in an effort to get ahead, we power through all the obstacles without thinking about the long-term consequences. So, if you find yourself doing this, it may be wise to take a moment to evaluate your plan and check it out on all sides.
Aries is known for blazing a path ahead with bold, sweeping moves into unknown territory; sometimes things work out, and other times, people get burned along the way. So, the question is, do we want to avoid unnecessary loss or burnout? Or, is the outcome more important? Are we willing to take the risk? These will be things you’ll have to weigh out in your life.
The Tarot
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
What is the guidance for today?
5 of Discs
On this card, we see a woman making tortillas. Behind her, on the wall, hang five discs.
The 5 of Discs is about experiencing poverty, worry, suffering, or coming from a place of lack, or spiritual fatigue. The wisdom offered by this card is that to stop your suffering, one must step outside of the worries, take a deep breath, and allow oneself to connect deeply with the earth, feelings of gratitude, and love.
The woman on this card is distracting herself from her worries and her suffering by doing a repetitive, yet productive task, such as making tortillas. By allowing ourselves to tap into the higher frequencies through something that is both relaxing and productive, we are able to experience a peaceful zen state, and it is through this state of quietness that we are able to hear and see the possibilities around us—and this gives us hope.
So, if you are feeling worried, anxious, depressed, or are suffering in some way, do something repetitive, yet creative, simple, and nourishing. It is here in this quiet space that the answers will come and greet you.
Does this reading resonate with you?
What can you do today that soothes your spirit and feeds your hands?
Wishing you peaceful steps, soft insights, and steady dreams…
I hope this is helpful.
Until tomorrow,
