A couple of nice comments that I received today on the daily horoscope made me wonder if people are missing the read-aloud/audio versions that I used to make of the horoscope.
This is a personal post and not an astrological one, just FYI, but I think it ties in nicely with the astrology, LOL!
Way back in 2022, I would make an audio version of the daily forecast and then that became a bit too much to keep up on so, I scaled it back to only reading the Weekly Forecast (back when I was writing both a daily and weekly forecast), but that too became too much to stay consistent with.
Back in March of 2024, I put out a poll asking if people would miss the read-aloud and most people who took the time to answer the poll said they just read the newsletter and would not miss it. I made the decision to let go of making the read-aloud for the weekly horoscopes and then soon after that scaled the writing back and let go of writing the weekly forecast to just writing the daily horoscopes.
This column has been many things to me…first, it was simply a way to practice and hone my skills in predictive astrology and to prove to myself that I could do something consistently. At first, there were no readers. Then, gradually as I gained confidence, I shared the newsletter with friends and family it started to grow a bit. I added the read-aloud audio version in 2022 and was really excited about it but it felt like I was speaking into the void with only crickets as my audience members, and a few family and friends. Second, this column has made me grow as an astrologer, mother, teacher, and just as a human being. To hold space for others in this way has reminded me to hold space for myself in a way that I was not doing before AstroMommy, but very much needed. Writing every day has made me more reflective, more patient, and more connected than ever before and I have had to work through a lot of emotions that come up from putting myself out there every day and trying to write something worth reading! And third, this newsletter, now, is turning into yet another thing—a way to connect with others and do what my About Me page says, “be a light in the dark.” I am so humbled and honored by this.
, to thank for a lot of my success, as her endorsement of my work doubled my readership. Thank you! (If you haven’t checked out Summer’s Substack, A Writer’s Workshop, please do, her writing is wonderful, and I mean WONDERFUL!).
I did not notice much growth with the read-aloud/audio/podcast version and it was hard to keep up with, so I let it go. I do miss reading the post and I know the power of hearing someone’s voice deliver a message.
I'd like to have you post a ten or 15 minute video of your daily readings, just the highlights, for those of us who want a quick overview to watch and listen to. And keep sending out the longer, more detailed, written version. Your posts are great!

Just hearing you say, “I hope this is helpful “
When I have too many items on my 'to do' list it's nice to be able to listen instead of reading.
