Today we are going to focus just on Monday and tomorrow I am posting a special horoscope for Jupiter’s Ingress into Taurus with Horoscopes for ALL 12 signs.
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
Well, we have the Sun in Taurus today at 24, five degrees away from Uranus in Taurus who is now at 19°. So their conjunction is over. Saturn is at 06°Pisces and is still within the 3-degree engagement range with Venus who is at 08°Cancer, so serious feelings about relationships, values, and money may still be in the air. Jupiter is now at 29°Aries 44’ and is so close to his ingress into Taurus with only 14’ of arc to go! He will make his entrance into Taurus tomorrow at 1:19 pm ET. Mercury is now in direct motion, having finished his retrograde on Sunday. He is moving at a whopping 01’59” (1 minute, 59 seconds of arc) per day! But, things should start to go a bit more smoothly with less bumps in the road now that his retrograde is over!
The Moon, on Monday and Tuesday, is in Aries. She ingresses into Aries early Monday morning at 3:55 am ET.
The Aries Moon is a good time to begin new projects, business ideas, or adventures! There could also be a sense of urgency, action, and competition in the air. Especially since immediately upon her ingress into Aries, the Moon will form a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius—so there could be a sudden urge to spill the beans about something or you may get an idea that seems to come up from the depths that you really want to share. The Aries Moon is independent, driven, and direct and knows what she wants when she wants it, and how she wants to get it, and if things get in her way, tempers could flare! So, be aware of that for yourself and others during this time.
The Moon is also doing really well while she is in Aries because she is enjoying mutual reception between her host, Mars and Mars is in her domicile of Cancer, so they are supporting each other. The Moon is also being received by the exaltation ruler of Aries, which is the Sun, and the Sun, still in Taurus, is in the exaltation of the Moon, so they are both offering supportive energies to each other. In traditional astrology, reception1 between planets is said to be very important.
By mid-morning at 9:44 am ET Mars in Cancer will make a trine to Neptune in Pisces. Mars is the planet of war, strife, conflict, action, drive, and libido. Neptune is the planet that is associated with dissolving boundaries, fog, nebulousness, chaos, music, artistic pursuits, and spirituality.
The two together in a harmonious trine could bring about inspired actions, idealistic charges, dreams that move one to take action, passionate music, long-distant travel, especially over oceans, and sexual encounters that feel otherworldly.
This energy started to build at the end of last week and will begin to dissipate when Mars makes his entrance into Leo on May 20, 2023.
After Mars and Neptune perfect their trine, the Moon forms a quincunx to the South Node in Scorpio and a semisquare to Uranus in Taurus.
This transit combination could represent some sort of separation or change that is abrupt, and a bit shocking, but really we knew it was coming. It’s like when you’re about to dive into a pool and you know that the first moment that your body hits the water will be a little shock to your system, but really it’s not that big a deal, because you expected it.
In the evening on Monday, the Moon in Aries will form a square to Venus in Cancer and a semisquare to the Sun in Taurus.
The Moon square Venus could represent some tensions in love, a difference coming about in a relationship, or just a disharmonious feeling in regard to your relationships, values, and money. But, it’s not as bad as it could be because Venus is in Cancer, the domicile of the Moon and so this mitigates the challenges of the square energy a bit.
The Sun and the Moon in a semisquare represent another tense moment when it seems like our circumstances are at odds with our goals. Again, there is a mutual reception between the Moon in Aries, the Sun’s exaltation, and the Sun in Taurus, the exaltation of the Moon—so it’s almost like even though this is a tense moment and delays are common with a semisquare, there is still a lot of support between the two planets, so this semisquare could function a bit more kindly and actually offer up an opportunity or a compromise.
Let’s move on to the card for the day:
What is the guidance for today?
Seven of Pentacles—Reversed
On this card, we see a man holding his garden hoe across his shoulders and looking down at his abundant crop. Seven pentacles adorn the vegetation. He looks tired and exhausted for he has worked so hard that he must hold up his tool with his own back. The wind blows his sandy-colored hair indicating future change.
The Seven of Pentacles is about investing in something for the long term and working hard to make your plans happen. It requires diligence, perseverance, and often sweat and tears.
In the reversed position, the Seven of Pentacles means that what you have invested in needs to be re-evaluated. If you are not getting the return that you had hoped for, it may be time to put your resources somewhere else so they are not wasted. You’ve been pouring in your blood, sweat, and tears into something and it’s just not producing what you’d like. This card is telling you it’s time to make some changes or scrap the whole project altogether. You probably already are aware of what this is referring to and have seen the signs for some time now.
This card can also indicate that focused attention needs to be given so that your efforts are not scattered and for nothing.
In a relationship, this may mean you’ve been working really hard, planting and caring for your relationship, and this card indicates worry that it will all be taken away. Or the relationship is not progressing the way you’d like and it may not be worth your time, energy, and love.

According to the famous 13th-century astrologer, Guido Bonatti, reception is when “some planet is joined with the Lord of the sign in which it is (or with the Lord of the exaltation of the same sign, or with the Lord of the bound or triplicity, or face), whether by body or by aspect, that the planet who is the Lord of the sign (or some dignity of it), commits and gives its own disposition and nature and virtue to it.”
Basically, what this means is that when a planet is in the dignity, or dignities, of another planet, that planet is “receiving” the other planet and lends support to it. Reception can therefore positively enhance an aspect. Lack of reception can influence an aspect as well.
