Without further ado, here is the daily horoscope.

Good morning, friends!

Today is the First Quarter Moon, well technically it perfected last night at 3:49 am ET, but we will be able to see the beautiful half-moon in the sky tonight again!  I saw it last night, glowing through a cover of clouds.  It was a very welcoming night for me.  I sat outside for hours in the warm night air, waiting patiently for the stars to peek through the cloud cover, but all I could see was the glowing half-moon.  It felt like the perfect night for a bonfire—maybe a fire pit will be something I set up this summer!

So, this week we have the Sun in Cancer moving from 4-11°, building up to sextile Saturn on Wednesday.  The Moon will be in Libra for the first half of the week and then she will move into Scorpio and Sagittarius by the weekend, building up for her Full Moon on July 3rd in Capricorn—if you have not checked out this month’s lunar poetry word list that I put out on the New Moon in Gemini, you can check it out on this post.  The word poems are “due” on the Full Moon, but of course, you can write your poem anytime you want and there is no obligation to publicly share your poem—this ritual is just to get us to write poetry consistently.

We also have Neptune slowing down this week getting ready for his retrograde which will start on Friday and then we will have both Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces.  This means that whatever house Pisces rules for you in your natal chart will be experiencing a major revision, reflection, or restructuring and it will be on the physical, mystical, and spiritual levels.

Mars and Uranus perfect their square today which we will get into in the horoscope and Mars and Jupiter form an antiscion, a hidden conjunction, possibly further amplifying the sudden and spontaneous energy of this transit.

Venus will be at 22° by the end of the week and engaging in her square to Uranus as well—representing surprises in our relationships.

We also start off this week with a YOD between the Moon, Saturn, and Jupiter; experience another YOD between the Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter on July 1st  during Mercury’s Cazimi (conjunction with the Sun), and then end this week with the Full Moon on July 3rd, 2023.  So, I feel that this week has some fated moments that are going to be shaping up and presenting us with doors of destiny, so to speak.  Will you walk through them?

Okay, let’s get into… the astrology

On Monday the Moon is in Libra and will be in Libra until she ingresses into the sign of Scorpio on Wednesday.

The Libra Moon made her first quarter square to the Sun at 3:49 am ET representing a crisis point where we may have felt over the weekend or early this week that some things gotta give when it comes to our relationships, what makes us feel at home and brings us a sense of peace and harmony.  The Libra Moon wants to be social, flirty, and relate with people and the Cancer Sun needs to feel like their efforts to initiate and entertain are welcome and valued, so we could be struggling with how to balance these sentiments and make our reality match our vision.  This is also cardinal energy which represents starting, initiating, and individuating.  There could be new beginnings, new opportunities, and new advancements that are felt after this First Quarter Moon.  This is like the seed that we planted on the New Moon has now grown leaves and is pushing its roots further down into the earth to support the fruit which it will bear on the Full Moon, but also to withstand the winds of change and the heavy rain it may endure in the process—so, it’s a courageous, determined, and strengthening energy.

Then at 5:22 am ET Mars in Leo perfected his square to Uranus in Taurus and we could experience, or maybe you’ve already noticed these energies over the weekend, but we could experience sudden, violent, or frustrating changes, breakthroughs, or events that have the tendency to be destructive, erratic, and out of the blue!  If you have anything in the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius in the 18-24° degree range, you may feel this transit more intensely as it will be directly affecting those placements.  For example, I have a Mercury, Uranus conjunction in Scorpio at 20° and 22° and this Mars Uranus square is hitting the exact mid-point between my Mercury and Uranus, so I could expect some mental breakthrough, sudden issues with travel, or a new way of communicating that comes from some sort of aggressive, violent, or chaotic event that takes place and alters my path in some way.  Because transiting Uranus is in my 12th house, this may have something to do with a blind spot or a lack of awareness on my part and I may not realize the combination until after the fact, even though I know it’s coming!  Transiting Mars is also in my third house of local travel, squaring my 6th house of health issues, so accidents due to a lack of paying attention could manifest!  I can’t let this transit scare me because it could also represent a sudden message or letter coming in that jolts me awake in some way, as well, it doesn’t have to be as dramatic as an accident.  It’s a good idea, though, for all of us, when Mars and Uranus get together in hard aspects, to tread lightly, be more mindful, and intentionally be a bit more cautious when we are driving, traveling, or cutting vegetables!  Last year when Mars and Uranus conjoined in Taurus, I cut my finger in the kitchen--it can totally manifest as something like that.  So, be careful this week, okay?

But remember there is an underlying antiscia between Mars and Jupiter building which will perfect tomorrow, so this gives me hope that whatever spontaneous event comes from this transit will have a silver lining!

At 7:47 am ET, the Moon in Libra forms a sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Taurus and a semisquare to Mars in Leo, so the Moon does not want to feel any sudden changes or upheavals and there could be a tendency to overreact or be impulsive—so, don’t wrap yourself up in a bunch of Charmin to “be prepared!”  Try to find some peace and just be more mindful.

By mid-morning the Moon starts to form the apex of the first YOD that I spoke about in the intro to this horoscope.

At 9:03 am ET, the Moon in Libra forms a quincunx to Saturn in Pisces, and then by 11:44 am she forms another quincunx to Jupiter in Taurus, activating their sextile formation which perfected last Monday, but is still very much there since Jupiter and Saturn have only separated by 1°21’.

A YOD represents a crisis point, where the energies are stressed and the planets have to figure out how to work with each other through some sort of uncomfortable compromise, usually one that feels “fated” in some way, hence the nickname for a YOD is the “Finger of God.”

Jupiter and Saturn in a sextile since last week and being within the 3-degrees of engagement until about July 4th, 2023, is an aspect that affects our judgment, our wisdom, and our commitments.  The effect of a sextile between the two, in Taurus and Pisces, in general, are feelings of stable devotion, fertile imagination, and sensual, and/or mystical experiences that may help people feel like the revisions they are making around their commitments, responsibilities, and boundaries in their lives are for the better because they can see the big picture.  There’s hope that all will work out.  So, this sextile, a 60-degree angle, is the base of the YOD.

Then, we have the Moon, forming two quincunxes, 150-degree angles, to each planet, forming a slim triangle formation with the Moon at the point.

The Moon and Saturn may bring up sadness or melancholy about the commitments, boundaries, or responsibilities that are changing.

The Moon quincunx Jupiter brings up big feelings that may be excessive, which could include over-confidence, over-indulgence, or over-optimism—trusting that our faith, hope, and good attitude will prevail through the hard times.  This energy could be exactly what we need to counter the oppressive, heavy, and oftentimes depressing energy of Saturn.

So, I feel that this YOD on Monday is a fated moment where we may decide to kind of give it up to the divine to figure out because maybe we can’t.  It’s like our ego-selves can’t quite see the future, but our higher selves are nudging us toward the true path that we must walk.  It’s about trusting that all things will work out in the end as long as we have the courage to take those steps forward, no matter how scary or daunting the journey looks ahead.

By Monday evening Mercury in Gemini forms a quincunx to Pluto in Capricorn at 5:06 pm ET just three hours before he ingresses into the sign of Cancer.

Mercury and Pluto in a quincunx represent getting in touch with some deep insight that we may not want to touch with a ten-foot pole, so it could be a thought, a message, or communication that kind of triggers us in some way or we may be the one to do the triggering, but nonetheless, there’s a separation or a change in the way we are thinking about something deep and traditional—maybe it’s a religious dogma that we realized is not serving us anymore or something corrupt and appalling is revealed in the news and we just collectively want to sweep it under the rug and ignore it, but we can’t.

Mercury then ingresses into the sign of Cancer at 8:23 pm ET.  Mercury in Cancer affects our ability to think by turning on our intuition, our senses, and our gut instincts.  We need to feel that the path is right, the phrase makes sense, or the chicken is done—it’s not enough to test it with the thermometer, we need to see the juice run clear and feel the texture in our mouths before we will make the final call.

On Tuesday…

The Moon is in Libra and will have entered the Via Combusta, “the burned road,” which in ancient astrology was an area of the zodiac from 15°Libra to 15°Scorpio and thought to be a perilous place for the Moon to travel through.

Mars has now separated from the square to Uranus by 1° and is now at 22° of Leo which actually puts him in a hidden conjunction, an antiscion with Jupiter in Taurus—so this is an underlying energy of the day.

Mars and Jupiter in a hidden conjunction could expand Mars’s aggressive, courageous, and action-oriented tendencies.  It could be the dose of luck that Mars needs to overcome whatever fears or worries are there that may have been holding him back, so people could be more bold, courageous, and forthcoming with their desires, wants, and motivations.  We may see this all week, but it will be most potent on Tuesday when the transit is exact.

At 6:56 am ET on Tuesday morning the Moon in Libra forms a sextile to Venus in Leo, who is now at 18°of Leo and applying to her square to Uranus, so something is brewing in our partnerships and relationships that may pop by the beginning of July.

The Moon and Venus in a sextile, and the Moon being in Venus’s sign of Libra can represent harmonious loving feelings, good looks, pleasant attitudes, and aesthetic beauty in your environment.  You may find that you have a good hair day or you just feel really good about yourself on Tuesday.

Then at 9:21 am ET, the Moon in Libra perfects an opposition to Chiron in Aries and this is where we may have to consciously make a decision to feel good, look good, and be social despite some social anxieties.  It feels a bit like a “fake it till you make it” energy—so, put on those power shoes or whatever and slay the day, even if you feel a little ridiculous doing it!

By the afternoon at 12:57 pm ET the Moon in Libra makes a quincunx to Uranus in Taurus and then two hours later a sesquiquadrate to Saturn in Pisces, so whatever sudden changes have happened with the Mars/Uranus square, these two transits represent a sort of resistance to this change.  A kind of denial or just not really wanting to accept the events as they have unfolded just yet.

At 2:25 pm ET the Moon in Libra forms a sextile to Mars in Leo, indicating a period where we have the opportunity to be brave and seize the day somehow.  This is active, extroverted, and assertive energy because we are dealing with an air and a fire sign, so we may get an opportunity to express our thoughts on a matter that we feel strongly about.

This is further supported by the last transit that is perfecting on Tuesday which is Mercury’s sextile to the North Node and trine to the South Node—representing that what we are thinking and how we are thinking is aligned with our paths.  We feel supported and heard.  This transit is perfecting at 4:55 pm ET and will permeate the whole day leading up to it and the whole night after the exact hit.

Whatever you are feeling is the right thing to say, probably is, so have faith and courage, and be brave to have that conversation!

Let’s move on to the card for the day:

What is the guidance for today?

Page of Cups—Rhodochrosite

On this card, we see a pink stone that “warms our hearts and brings tender, loving feelings to the conscious mind.  The rhodochrosite promotes creativity and intuition.  Relieving emotional pressures and dissolving energy blocks, results in more openness and spiritualization.” (Hoffman, 1996)1

The Page of Cups represents a pleasant message coming in that may take you by surprise!  It may be a loving message, a sign from the Universe, or a creative opportunity coming your way!  The guidance from this card is to be open and curious about whatever you are receiving right now.  Use your intuition to guide you.

I really love this energy as we have this YOD forming today between benefic Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon in Libra, representing a hopeful commitment that is being directed toward a relationship or partnership of some kind, and this card is further supporting these new loving or optimistic feelings.  I feel that Mars square Uranus may represent the sudden action toward something that one desires and it may take you by surprise, this new motivation and drive.
