Happy July! Rabbit Rabbit, as my astrology teacher David Palmer, The Leo King, always says on the first of the month for good luck! So good luck! And we may all need it this month with Venus’s upcoming retrograde!
Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
The Moon on Saturday is in Sagittarius and she won’t ingress into Capricorn until Sunday afternoon at 1:20 pm ET. This means that we have a transition weekend where the energy will be shifting from the outgoing, optimistic, and hopeful Sagittarian energy to the more reserved, business-like, and grounded energy of Capricorn.
There are several notable transits going on this weekend that we want to be aware of.
First: Mercury met up with the Sun and is having his cazimi moment right now as I am typing this horoscope; bringing more clarity and insight into what will make us most comfortable and secure.
While together, the Sun and Mercury form a sextile to Jupiter in Taurus representing a willingness to work together to bring more blessings, abundance, and prosperity into our lives.
All three of these planets also interact with the Moon in Sagittarius who will be forming quincunxes to all three at the same time that they are perfecting their sextile forming a YOD1, the one I talked about at the beginning of the week! This is an ominous transit that represents a crisis moment or a moment of destiny that can be very pivotal, and this one looks really positive!
Second: Venus is applying to square Uranus which will be exact on Sunday when they both reach 21° 46’ of Leo and Taurus, but as of about 5:30 am ET on Saturday morning, Venus has hit 21° and has officially begun the partile square to Uranus. She entered into the 3-degrees of engagement to this square to Uranus on June 27, and will leave the 3-degree range of engagement on July 7, 2023—so we have already been feeling this square build up this last week and the energy will continue for the first full week of July!
Venus square Uranus is a very wild, unpredictable energy surrounding love, relationships, money, and what you value in your life. Depending upon where this transit falls in your natal chart will determine how it may show up for you, but one thing we can say is that Venus in Leo is showy, extroverted, and wants attention, and Uranus in Taurus makes us feel like we aren’t exactly on solid ground—there’s an unpredictableness to the normally more predictable nature of Taurus which is a fixed earth sign representing stability, the senses, and the basic essentials for a life of value—good food, good exercise, good rest, and good company—so when Uranus is there these things can feel unpredictable. Put the two together in a square aspect which is the nature of Mars and you get something shocking, disruptive, aggressive, and highly motivated around love, relationships, money, sex, sensuality, and creativity.
And third: the moon is waxing full and will be full on Monday, July 3, technically at 7:38 am ET, so obviously the Moon will look very full and beautiful all weekend and will be permeating and amplifying the other transits of the weekend.
Full Moons are a time when the intentions that you set around the New Moon come to their fullest potential and bear fruit. So, we could feel a sense of accomplishment and closure around something that we have been working on manifesting. The Full Moon energy can also turn up the volume around specific circumstances in your life right now and they could become very loud, drowning out other more subtle energies.
With this Full Moon being in Capricorn this could symbolize an area in our lives where we are taking matters into our own hands, persevering to make it to the top of whatever mountain we have decided to climb, and letting go of the things or people in our lives that hinder our progress or drag us down energetically.
Okay, so that is the weekend overview, now let’s break down the individual transits. There are a lot on Saturday so I am going to group them together into morning, afternoon, and evening to make it a bit more digestible.
