Good morning, friends!
Well, I hope you all enjoyed the Full Moon in Gemini yesterday! I had a lovely birthday weekend, truly! AstroDaddy and the AstroKids threw me a “Baby Yoda” birthday party and it was really fun, silly, and memorable!
I couldn’t help but think how perfectly the night went with the Full Moon energy as well—celebrating a “harvest” or in my case, 43 years, and ending that time to begin the next part of the journey—as a 44-year-old. I felt full of love, like a stuffed turkey, glistening with melted butter and paprika, meat juices running clear and into the baking pan like rivulets from a waterfall, basking in a pool of new memories.
This week marks the sixth Weekly Forecast that I have published since changing my writing schedule and I would love to get some feedback; do you like the Weekly Forecast and Daily Check-ins? Do you have any suggestions for how to make them more useful, relatable, helpful, or accessible?

Okay, let’s get into… the astrology
(All times are in Eastern Time (ET) unless mentioned otherwise)
This week is like a Fox Trot that turns into a passionate Tango, we go from kind of easy, jazzy, and pretty simple transits, to much more dramatic and challenging transits over the weekend. Underneath the seemingly straightforward aspects that we have this week, two planets changing signs, we have several hidden aspects, antiscias1, and contra-antiscias2, with a pretty intense antiscion between Venus and Saturn on Sunday. Not to mention that Venus will conjoin the South Node this week too, which is sort of like losing your earring on the dance floor of life.
Antiscias and contra-antiscia are explained in more detail in the footnotes3.
We just had the Full Moon on Monday, so we are heading toward the Last Quarter phase this week, which will perfect next Tuesday, December 5, 2023, which means that the Moon is waning and losing light.
Jumping to Wednesday of this week, November 29, 2023, Venus starts us out with her conjunction to the South Node in Libra; then on Friday, December 1st, Mercury ingresses into Capricorn and forms a sextile to Saturn on Saturday, December 2. This is all very Fox Trot to me, kind of easy, jazzy, nothing too moody on the surface, but emotions could be stirring deep within.
Sunday, December 3rd is, in my opinion, the climax of this week and where the “Tango” music starts, with its bandoneon, violins, or moody clarinets, commanding the dancers into dramatic turns, kicks, and passionate eye contact, as if they have no control but to express the music in this way, sharply, intensely, and with great sexual tension—this is when Venus in Libra forms a square to Pluto in Capricorn while at the same time perfecting an antiscion to Saturn, which acts like a hidden conjunction.
So, as the dancers gaze fiercely into the eyes of each other they are bound by the steps of the Tango—the unspoken communication of their bodies. There are rules of the dance even when the dancers seem to be breaking all the rules. Structure, training, and boundaries…yet, the Moon on Sunday forms a square to Uranus as well, so some limits will be pushed; and rules will be broken—will it result in a radical new dance that is loved by the audience? Or will a dancer slip and fall? I guess we will find out, won’t we.
On Monday, December 4, 2023, Venus will move into Scorpio, the sign of her detriment; traditionally ruled by Mars, but in Modern astrology ruled by Pluto; either way, a darker and more mysterious place for Venus, yet she is the morning star right now, which I feel has some relevance in how we will interpret Venus this week. As the morning star, Astrologer Christopher Renstrom describes Venus in his book, The Cosmic Calendar: Using Astrology to Get in Sync With Your Best Life, as “falling in love quickly,” and “not always clear on whether [she’s] in love with the person or [her] idea of the person—but eventually [she] finds [her] match. Venus’s lover will always be her muse” (2020)4.
This week is very Venus-focused, as she is conjoining the South Node, squaring Pluto, and then changing signs, plus, she is the dispositor of the South Node in Libra, Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. Jupiter is also a key player right now in that he is a dispositor of all the planets in Sagittarius and in traditional astrology, Pisces as well. My teacher, Adam Elenbaas, just put out a great video highlighting the importance of Venus and Jupiter this week because of these factors that I just mentioned as well as the deeper essential dignities of all the seven traditional planets. You can check that video out here.
So, we have Venusian themes this week: love, romance, relationships, beauty, aesthetics, sweet foods, kindness, and valuable things like money and jewels.
We also have two planets that are slowing down: Neptune is slowing down to station direct on December 6th of next week and Mercury is slowing down because he will station retrograde on December 13, 2023 (about two weeks away). This is interesting also because Mercury and Neptune just had their square on Monday and now they are both reducing their speeds, almost like whatever they learned from each other has made them want to go back over it at a slower pace and take a closer look.
Not only are all of these things happening, but I noticed several antiscias and contra-antiscias that the Moon is making this week, meaning that there are a lot of hidden feelings, agendas, and circumstances at play.
Speaking of the Moon, let’s talk about the signs she will be traversing this week:
The Moon starts the week out in the perceptive, communicative, and quick-learning sign of Gemini and ingresses into the selfless, giving, and caring sign of Cancer on Wednesday. Then she will stay in Cancer until Friday when she will move into the dedicated, expressive, and creative sign of Leo. The Moon will spend most of the weekend in Leo and then ingress into the pragmatic, organized, and managerial sign of Virgo late on Sunday night.
Next week, the Moon starts out in Virgo on Monday and perfects her third Quarter Phase on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023.
Now we’ll go over each day and touch on the most important transits and then we’ll do a 3-card tarot spread for the week.
This week is a bit of a multi-media experience as I have included a short dance video to go along with the opening Fox Trot energy and closing Tango drama—watch them to enhance the horoscope, or not, it’s up to you...
The daily horoscopes are also a bit shorter and to the point this week, maybe I am already feeling the Mercurial shift from Sagittarius to Capricorn and getting a bit more precise with my words! :)

The Moon
The Moon will be in Gemini all day on Tuesday so there may be a focus on talking, writing, thinking, and processing information in general. Whatever came to a peak or ended with the Full Moon on Monday may still need to be finished up before literally moving on to the next phase, so there may be a need for that.
First, the Moon in Gemini forms a trine to Venus in Libra which is really harmonious, and then she makes a square to Neptune which is challenging, followed by an opposition to Mercury, which means a standstill or an ultimatum of some sort.
So, on Tuesday, there is the feeling that we have to pick and choose between what is in our minds or on paper and what is in our hearts, dreams, or fantasies—or basically in our imaginations.
We may really want some luxurious item or pleasurable experience and the doors may be open for it to happen, but working out the logistics could be problematic. Compromises can be made that favor everyone though, so just try to stay positive and open to an abstract way of manifesting your dreams.
The Transits
There are no major transits today.
We start the week out with the American Fox Trot:
WEDNESDAY, November 29, 2023
The Moon
The Moon ingresses into Cancer at 1:53 am so we may notice that we want to physically do more today than yesterday. Maybe earlier in the week we were a bit caught up in our heads, but now, with the Moon in Cancer, we are very present in our hearts.
The first aspect that the Moon makes today of importance is a trine to Saturn in Pisces which can symbolize some support from an older person in your life, or supportive structures coming together in your immediate environment or circumstances. It could also indicate feeling serious about something, but in a good way, a constructive way that helps you achieve your goals. You may feel emotionally stable and secure today if the Moon in Cancer trine Saturn is also making positive aspects to your natal chart.
The Moon in Cancer perfects a contra-antiscia to Mercury in Sagittarius at 6:41 am symbolizing a hidden opposition that could result in arguments or your feelings being at odds with your rational mind.
At 8:43 am the Moon forms a quincunx to Mars in Sagittarius and this may mean that some action you are taking feels odd or a brother or friend does something that is a bit mind-blowing for good or bad.
The Transits
Venus will conjoin the South Node today at 12:16 pm—which can indicate a decrease, drain, or release of Venusian things. There could also be the feeling that we are succumbing to our desires or a lover or a relationship dynamic in some way, giving into it. Is this bad, I don’t know, I think it depends upon what’s going on in your own chart. But there is also this notion that something beautiful is going to be flushed away or lost…People could literally lose jewelry on this day…(I did, in fact, lose my earring for a time on Monday after I wrote this, LOL!)
The Moon, Jupiter, and the Sun form a YOD5 today…first, the Sun in Sagittarius makes a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde in Taurus at 12:37 pm, and then the Moon connects all three planets in the afternoon by first perfecting a sextile to Jupiter at 3:21 pm and then a quincunx to the Sun at 3:36 pm, completing the YOD. The apex planet of this YOD is the Sun, so there’s something life-giving and affirmative that is also emotional coming through our plotline, our mission, or our purpose, and I think it is positive and helpful. This could be a redemption of some kind or an act of kindness.
THURSDAY, November 30, 2023
The Moon
The Moon on Thursday is in Cancer all day and will be making several sesquiquadrates all day, first to Saturn, then Mars, and finally to the Sun. With a nice sextile to Uranus in the middle of all of that.
So there is this type of scenario going on today: you have emotionally come to a space where you are feeling secure, stable, and solid in your feelings and actions and now that you have made a few steps forward you are having to wait for something, a part to come in, a phone call, a ride, etc…there’s something that has started but now there are delays. There could be an unexpected solution in the end though, so stay open-minded for that.
AT 6:32 pm the Moon in Cancer makes another contra-antiscia, but this time to the Sun in Sagittarius, so there is something about where we are headed on our journey that we feel like we have to make a decision about that is emotional or affects our family or our living environment in some way.
The Transits
Venus perfects a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces retrograde at 5:12 am coloring the day with a very odd hue. It may be hard to tell if the clouds are portending rain or future sunshine. One thing is for certain change from whatever it is right now is on its way. You may feel a breeze, see a bird fly by, or notice a dead snake skin on the ground. The Universe is trying to give you signs that change is here. Noticing and recognizing yourself in your new skin may be harder than it sounds.
FRIDAY, December 01, 2023
The Moon
The Moon on Friday changes from watery Cancer to fiery Leo at 11:00 am. It’s time to get this show on the road! It’s time to get on stage and dance the night away! There is fun to be had and the Leo Moon surely will usher it in probably with some drama and flair!
In the early morning before the Moon moves into Leo, though, the Cancer Moon has a few more orders of business to take care of, first a trine to Neptune in Pisces retrograde, then a contra-antiscia to Mars, which is like a hidden opposition, then a square to Venus in Libra, and finally an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn.
It’s like we have something musical, otherworldly, or surreal to extract out of a seemingly not beautiful place, and then once we have it extracted we have to decide how to utilize it. We have a lot of energy and it can feel a little aggressive or righteous. This little whirlwind of transits reminds me of—blood worms.
Blood worms are harvested out of the mud. The Moon in a water sign and Pluto in an earth sign make mud. Blood worms are great fishing bait but they come out of the ugly, gooey mud and it requires a great deal of strength and stamina to pull them out. Also, they have a venomous bite that can be painful to humans, so even though something useful may be pulled out of the mud with the Moon in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn—it has the potential to be painful, even if it provides an end to the means for survival.
So, what are you going to pull out of the mud today that is useful but also a bit painful to extract, or ugly?
After I wrote this analogy, I spotted this article on The Cool Down titled, “Invasive Worms Containing Lethal Neurotoxin Found Thriving in Several US States: They Have the Potential to Do Damage” (Collis, 2023)6. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up!
The Transits
Mercury ingresses into Capricorn today at 9:31 am and is only 8 and a half degrees away now from stationing retrograde which he will do on December 13, 2023.
Mercury rules over words, news, communication, and language and therefore what and how we think. He also governs short-distance travel, especially in cars, trucks, or trains. So, when he is in the sign of Capricorn he will be more earthy, direct, to the point with a lot less fluff. During his time in Sagittarius, there may have been a lot of fluff and exaggeration, but Mercury in Capricorn sees language as a resource and therefore he is more efficient with his words; business-like in his communications. Short sentences. One-worded texts. Mercury in Capricorn may have a lot to say when he has thought a lot about whatever it is, but until his thoughts are in order, he’ll keep quiet. There’s no use wasting time chatting about nothing. Mindless chatter is annoying to Mercury in Capricorn. He can be witty and humorous though and likes dark, sardonic, slapstick-type humor. He won’t try to harm with his words, but as Christopher Renstrom puts it, Mercury in Capricorn is a “critic,” a “killjoy,” and “like a contestant on a game show, itching to press the buzzer so [he] can call out the mistake, identify all the slip-ups, and detail each and every shortcoming” (2020)7.
Mercury in Capricorn is happiest if his words are making him money or at least counting for something that he is investing in, otherwise, what’s the point?
What I love about Mercury in Capricorn right now is that he is the evening star and will be visible until a few days after he turns retrograde in mid-December, so according to Renstrom, we have a Mercury that gives us “hindsight” (2020). A “Sunset Mercury” never “assumes that [they] have all the information in front of [them], which means [they’ll] keep playing with the puzzle pieces long after everyone else has given up. This makes [them] excellent problem solvers” (2020).
I love this! This means that while Mercury is the evening star in Capricorn it symbolizes that we will be studying, doing the research, and the deep thinking needed to be very thorough, so when we present our evidence it has sources to back it up. I think this will be very helpful with the upcoming Mercury retrograde.
The Weekend
SATURDAY, December 2, 2023
Happy birthday to a really good friend of mine who reads this newsletter! You know who you are! Happy birthday!
The Moon
The Moon is in Leo all day on Saturday and makes three aspects that are important. First, she perfects an antiscia to Uranus in Taurus retrograde at 6:05 am, indicating something unusual, revolutionary, or liberating occurring on an emotional level. Then she forms a square to Jupiter in Taurus retrograde at 12:44 am and finally a trine to the Sun at 6:44 am. This seems a bit on the more positive side if we can show some restraint and not overdo it—not overeat, overspend, or over-exaggerate. Whatever decisions we make today will affect our future, and however we overcome the challenge of today will directly influence our direction.
The Transits
Mercury in Capricorn perfects a sextile to Saturn in Pisces today at 10:27 am. This transit symbolizes wise thinking, serious thoughts, controlled thoughts, and constructive criticism. It is an opportunity to communicate some structural details to someone. Maybe there’s an idea that you’ve had and now you have the opportunity to talk to someone about it and really flesh out the plan. Maybe there’s a way that you’ve been thinking recently that needed some guidance and structure and this transit represents having that.
SUNDAY, December 3, 2023
The Moon
The Moon moves into Virgo today, but before she does, first she makes a square to Uranus in Taurus retrograde, forms another antiscion but this time to Jupiter in Taurus retrograde, and then a quincunx to both Neptune and Pluto, followed by a sextile to Venus and finally ends with ingressing into Virgo at 10:50 pm. What does all of this mean?
The Moon governs our emotions, things that come to be and pass away like health, money, our bodies, and relationships as well. The Moon covers a lot, so she is important and according to the ancient astrologers, everything had to come through the sublunary sphere, meaning that we process everything via the moon. She is our emotional thermometer.
The square to Uranus symbolizes a sudden challenge or need to take action on something that is a bit of a surprise or is something that causes some disruption in your life. Yesterday, the Moon formed a hidden conjunction to Uranus via the antiscia, which is so interesting because today they are forming a square, so it’s like yesterday, something surprising happened under the radar or in private and today it is more out in the open or above board and harder to tuck away and is being acted upon.
The quincunx to Neptune and Pluto signifies that life is weird and odd and what lies in the deepest recesses of our soul is even weirder than weird and it may come up today, be triggered, or want to be let out.
The Sextile to Venus indicates that there is a possibility for pleasant interactions, loving exchanges, friendship, pleasant situations, and experiences. So, through all the surprises, twists, turns, or blood worms coming up, there is a little light at the end of the tunnel.
The Transits
At 8:29 am Venus in Libra forms a square to Pluto in Capricorn symbolizing fatal attractions, poisons, deep love challenges, transformative relationships, a loving struggle, the death of a woman that is important to you, toxic relationship issues coming up, beautiful action towards something deep and dark, sexy lingerie, and taboo thoughts that need to find expression somehow.
At 12:16 pm Venus in Libra forms an antiscia to Saturn in Pisces which acts like a hidden conjunction. Venus and Saturn are very opposite, one is about love, connection, and beauty, and the other is about restriction, limitation, and suffocation. So, underneath it all today there could be a very heavy feeling like your desires or the ways in which you seek pleasure, beauty, love, and affection, are being stifled, thwarted, or held back.
At 6:19 pm Mars forms a quincunx to Jupiter in Taurus retrograde: this means that whatever you desire or want to take action towards is clashing with the big picture of your life or it is clashing with some sort of belief that you have. The good news is that Mars and Jupiter will get into better alignment when Mars ingreses into Capricorn next year, so it will feel more in alignment with what you want and your beliefs about it all—it may even make sense, for a while. But for now, what you want does not line up with your beliefs or with your long-term goals and that can be frustrating.
Next Week
MONDAY, December 4, 2023
The Moon
The Moon will be in Virgo all day. She will form a contra-antiscia to Venus in Libra, which acts like an opposition at 12:09 am, right after midnight, so another hidden aspect involving the Moon, but this one indicates a standstill between our relationships and our environment or our love life and our emotions, something’s gotta give!
Then the Moon in Virgo will oppose Saturn at 1:26 am and this is a reality check where what you feel is being checked by Saturn and you are being forced to make a choice. Saturn is laying down the law about something and it’s like you have no choice but to obey his rules.
Then at 5:12 am the Moon in Virgo forms a Grand Trine with Mercury and Jupiter, both in earth signs. Mercury and Jupiter technically won’t perfect their trine until Thursday, December 7th, but they are within 3° of engagement with each other while the Moon is forming trines to both, so this activates their upcoming trine even more.
Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter in a Grand trine means that our minds, hearts, and beliefs are feeling very much in alignment; all the doors are open and the energy is passing through with speed and flow. It is a beautiful alignment that honestly, if all is going well, you may not even notice because it is so easy. You are just mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in alignment today!
The Moon forms a square to Mars in Sagittarius at 1:51 pm, at the same time as Venus is ingressing into Scorpio. So, there is action and drive to get what you desire today.
The Transits
Venus ingresses into Scorpio at 1:50 pm. Venus is in detriment in Scorpio and that means that she is a different Venus, she is out of season, as it were. Renstrom says that Venus “is astrology’s version of perfume” and represents “what and who we attract into our lives” (2020).
In Libra, she was able to express herself in classically Venusian ways, through classic beauty and aesthetics and she wanted things to look a certain way—like dancing the Fox Trot, but in Scorpio, traditionally Mars’ home and in Modern astrology, Pluto’s home sign, Venus has to express herself in a much more dark, moody, and magnetic way—like dancing Tango.
So, we end this week’s Forecast by entering the season of Tango…Venus in Scorpio.
It’s a different kind of beauty, a much more intense “perfume,” and it attracts a whole different type of person into your life. Here is a Tango compilation video symbolizing this shift.
And here’s another one, even a bit more accurate, although I have to warn you, it gets a lot hotter and more sexual in this dance video:
The Tarot Spread
Let’s move on to a 3-card spread for the week representing…The Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual States.
The first card represents the Physical State:
4 Venus ~ Love
On this card we see Venus coming out of her shell. The planet Venus is in the upper right of this card and the Symbol in the lower middle.
Venus is all about love, relationships, pleasure, beauty, sweetness, and valuable things like money and jewels.
As the card for the physical state, I feel it represents that we may be indulging in the pleasures and sweets of life right now, which seems very fitting since we are in the holiday season, which has a lot of Venusian themes: eating, spending money, socializing with friends and family, and going to parties, etc…
With Venus meeting up with Pluto this week in a square, the temptation to get very obsessed with any of these things, but especially love, is high.
John Keats said it best, “Love is my religion and I could die for that.” Be careful with fatal attractions, toxic love situations, or too much sugar…the warning with Venus square Pluto is to be aware that you don’t overdo the sweetness or love to the point that it becomes poisonous.
The second card represents the Emotional State:
8 Chiron ~ Healing
On this card, we see Chiron8 the centaur, the wounded healer, and an angel.
Chiron represents a deep wound within ourselves, a vulnerability, a weakness that we are here in this lifetime to heal through acceptance and love.
As the card that represents the Emotional state, I feel that this means we are all going through our own personal healing processes. This card reminds us that through self-reflection and unconditional self-love, we can clear out the old stuff that is holding us back from our highest good and our most authentic selves and begin to heal that deep inner wound that we are meant to heal in this lifetime.
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” ~Rumi
The third card represents the Spiritual state:
7 Jupiter ~ Abundance
In this card, you see a picture of a lightning bolt, striking the Jupiter glyph, with Jupiter, the planet, and the face of the Greek god Zeus superimposed on the clouds. The colors of this card are different shades of red, symbolizing fire, spirit, and action, and the starry skies play peek-a-boo in the background.
The Jupiter card represents prosperity, good luck, abundance, and doors opening!
With this card representing the Spiritual state, we can feel reassured that a period of spiritual good luck and prosperity awaits! This card is a positive omen of good fortune, finding a sense of purpose, being able to see the big picture, and our world expanding. Generosity, support, and strength are given as gifts from Jupiter, one of the brightest stars that we can see with our naked eye.
“The lips of the wise are as the doors of a cabinet; no sooner are they opened, but treasures are poured out before thee.” ~ Akhenaton
So, to recap:
Physically we are enjoying the pleasures in life right now, good food, fun times, and the holidays.
Emotionally we are all going through internal healing.
Spiritually we are finding a sense of purpose and doors are opening!
In conclusion for the weekly forecast…

YOD —[rhymes with God]—a special transit that involves at least three planets and forms a narrow triangle-shaped aspect between the three. The base of the triangle is a sextile (a 60-degree angle) between two planets, a harmonious aspect, representing an opportunity. Then, those two planets each make a quincunx (a 150-degree angle), which is not a harmonious aspect, but one that represents change and separation-- with a third planet, forming the apex of the triangle. One nickname for a YOD is: “The Finger of God/Fate.” This is a configuration most commonly used in Modern Astrology.

The Myth of Chiron
(first appeared in the post My Heart Will Go On: Jupiter Conjunct Chiron in Aries, published March 11, 2023)
Chiron accidentally gets shot with a poison arrow by Heracles, but because he is immortal he can not die. The irony is that Chiron is a healer who is very skilled in medicine and the healing arts, but he can’t heal himself from the poison arrow. In an article from Psychology Today titled, “The Myth of Chiron, the Wounded Healer: What can the centaur Chiron teach us about the human condition?” the author, Neel Burton M.D. recounts the myth like this1:
“For all his knowledge and skill Chiron was unable to heal his wound, which became unbearably painful. But being the immortal son of Cronus, neither was he able to die. In the end, he or Herakles struck a bargain with Zeus, whereby he would exchange his immortality for the freedom of Prometheus, who had been bound for all eternity to a rock for stealing fire from the gods and delivering it to humankind. Every day, an eagle pecked out Prometheus’ immortal liver, only for it to grow back overnight.
After Chiron’s death, Zeus at long last freed Prometheus, and fixed Chiron in the firmament as the constellation Sagittarius or Centaurus.” (Burton, 2021)
He goes on to say…
“Chiron’s stoical decision to die in the face of unbearable and incurable pain, especially in light of his immortality, raises profound, and surprisingly modern, ethical questions about euthanasia and the desirability of immortality, questions that have never been more pertinent than today.
Chiron is a rare if not unique instance of a god who dies, and, more than that, chooses to die (unlike, say, Jesus). But even in dying, he gives himself up to another. Just like he sublimed his life into wisdom, art, and love, so he sublimed his death into an act of service and sacrifice.” (Burton, 2021)
