First Quarter Moon, Venus Enters Aquarius, & XVI The Tower
Daily Horoscope Check-In for Friday, February 16, 2024
Good morning, friends!
Before we get into the daily horoscope, I will be announcing the winner of the free AstroMommy mug later today, hopefully on video! So stay tuned for that!
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology…
Well, today the sun is at 27°Aquarius 25’, and by 10:00 am ET this morning, the Moon will square that position from her position in Taurus at 27°25’, forming her First Quarter phase.
The First Quarter Phase of the Moon is a time of individuation, taking steps toward something, or possibly a crisis point where action needs to be taken to solve a problem. I discussed the First Quarter phase in more detail in the Weekly Forecast which you can read by clicking here.
You can see in the picture from Solar System Scope below, the Moon on the left of Earth at a 90° angle to the Sun above.
One thing that I did not discuss in the Weekly Forecast was the Moon’s close conjunction to the fixed star Algol during this square, currently at 26° Taurus 29’. The star Algol is located in the constellation, Perseus, and is said to be the blinking eye of the Medusa. In the myth of Perseus and Medusa, Perseus cuts off Medusa’s head and then uses the head to turn his enemies into stone1.
You can see Algol from Earth’s point of view in the picture below
