Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
Today there is not much going on, so it is a good day to talk about the benefics, Venus and Jupiter, and what they are doing right now that feels very significant.
Today the Sun is at 19°Taurus traveling 58’ a day, with Venus now combust1 and only 7° away from catching up to him moving at over a degree per day! At that speed, she will meet up with the Sun starting on June 1st and travel along with him until she perfects a Superior Conjunction on June 4th and begins to inch ahead of him.
A Superior Conjunction is when a planet is on the other side of the Sun from the Earth and occupies the same zodiacal placement; this can occur with any of the planets. An Inferior Conjunction is when one of the inferior planets, either Mercury or Venus (the two planets that orbit the Sun closer than the Earth) conjoins the Sun at the same zodiacal placement and is in between the Earth and the Sun—that is when we experience Venus and Mercury retrogrades. Outer planet retrogrades, such as with Mars all the way out to Pluto, happen when the Earth passes the space between that planet and the Sun. You can check out the celestial mechanics of what I am talking about on this website if you need more clarity.
The whole point is that, right now, what we have been observing from Earth over the last month and a half or so, is Venus as the morning star sinking back into the Eastern horizon where she has now disappeared under the beams of the Sun. She will reappear as the evening star in early August 2024. Take note, that Mercury has also been a morning star giving us the gift of foresight. When a planet is combust the Sun they are less able to deliver the fate that is in their hands. Thankfully, Venus is in Taurus her home sign, and is said to be “in her chariot” which means that she is protected from the debilitating sunbeams and is still able to deliver her goods. This is good for us because Jupiter is under the beams as well now, too.
Jupiter in Taurus is at 26°, 7 degrees ahead of the Sun, and has just been completely swallowed up by his light. Jupiter is now combust as well, and unfortunately not “in his chariot,” so he is less able to deliver his good fortune. Jupiter will make his Superior Conjunction with the Sun on May 18, 2024, and then the two benefics, Venus and Jupiter will meet at the tail-end of Taurus, under the combustion of the Sun in Gemini, during a Full Moon in Sagittarius, on May 23, 2024. Then they will switch places…Venus will make her way toward her conjunction with the Sun (June 4, 2024) and emerge as the evening star (early August 2024) and then Jupiter will push his way into Gemini and emerge as the bright morning star beginning around June 11, 2024, and then turn retrograde in early October 2024 in Gemini.
Something very interesting is that on June 4, 2024, when Venus conjoins the Sun in Gemini, Mercury, and Jupiter will be making a conjunction as well in Gemini—this is like they are all getting together and having a pow-wow, planning and strategizing their next moves, and in Gemini, this may involve doing a lot of things!
So, Venus and Jupiter are changing guards, but this change from morning to evening and evening to morning stars comes with a small price where we don’t get to see these beautiful bright lights in our skies for a short period of time. Thankfully, Venus is the ruler of Taurus and therefore the dispositor of Jupiter in Taurus right now (not once he moves into Gemini, though), so that is hopeful and feels like a new love story or a new chapter in love. Once Jupiter emerges as the morning star in Gemini, his dispositor will be Mercury who will then be in his chariot; approaching his cazimi with the Sun (June 14, 2024).
All this to say, there is a positive plot surrounding love, relationships, and good fortune that is being planned and figured out this summer. We will be discussing all of this more as the stories unfold.
Now, let’s talk a bit about today…
Today’s Transits
Early this morning the Moon in Gemini made a semisquare to Chiron and a sextile to Mars in Aries. This means that although we have the opportunity to heal old wounds we may feel a bit apprehensive about bringing certain things up right now. There is a willingness to get along and we like how easy everything has been and there’s no need to rock the boat if we don’t need to, right?
We could also get a lot of things done today that need doing as the Gemini Moon is always thinking, planning, and strategizing and Mars in Aries is all about doing, so the combination could be very good for our “To-Do Lists.”
At 9:15 am ET, the Moon in Gemini makes a semisquare to Mercury in Aries and this could mean that communication is a little sticky. Perhaps we are doing our best to be easygoing and it seems a little forced, or maybe there is a lot of activity and a desire to talk and socialize, but nowhere to direct the energy so it just sort of bounces off the walls. I know for me and my kids, it is raining today and they may get a little stir-crazy, so we may don our rainboots and take up our umbrellas and go for a rain walk, just to get the wiggles out!
But, by late tonight the Moon will make harmonious aspects to the nodes, so I think all in all we will be successful at keeping the peace.
