Good morning, friends!
Rabbit! Rabbit! Happy first of the month!
The Moon in Libra has finished her conjunction to the South Node, square to Mercury, and quincunx to Neptune which happened yesterday and earlier this morning. These last transits indicate a possible miscommunication or attempt at diplomacy that may or may not have been successful and the contact with Neptune is like a dream that left a weird taste in your mouth, but you’re not sure why. I dreamt of riding a horse around an office building—inside, and parking a car on a weird sand dune because the brakes were broken, plus looking at a stack of vintage red paper napkins with moving pin-up pictures on them—they made absolutely no sense—Moon quincunx Neptune.
The Moon in Libra will reach the final degrees and ingress into the sign of Scorpio at 3:36 pm ET.
The Moon signifies our bodies, our emotions, and our connection to women, mothers, and the feminine archetype, as well as our circumstances, our fortunes in life, and anything that symbolically waxes and wanes.
Once in Scorpio, the Moon will square Pluto in Aquarius at 4:22 pm ET, bringing up some emotions from the depths that we may need to explore or examine thoroughly and it’s important, as the Moon moves into Scorpio, to not let ourselves get emotionally swallowed up by these shadows.
The Moon is at Fall in Scorpio, meaning it’s a time of the lunar cycle when it is easy to be consumed by jealousy, obsessiveness, self-absorption, and possessiveness. It’s a time when we have to be careful not to assert manipulative ultimatums trying to get our way by bulldozing the other person’s feelings or point of view.
The Moon is also going through the Via Combusta, the “burned path,” symbolized by “the Milky Way which comes down from heaven and crosses the zodiac belt from Taurus across to Scorpio” (Louis, 2016)1. This is a particularly distressing space for the Moon to travel through (from 15°Libra to 15°Scorpio—as I talked about in the Weekly Forecast). So, while the Moon is going through this intense area of the sky, we need to tap into our higher selves and try to have compassion, love, and understanding, not only for ourselves but for the people involved in relationship with us, as well. We may need to find common ground and make compromises.
Think back to what was happening and how you were feeling the last time the Moon was in Scorpio, from January 5-7, 2024. What was coming up for you during that time? Reflecting on these memories may help you understand and be prepared for what may come up during this time. The Moon is traveling slowly right now and because of this she will be spending a longer time in Scorpio, Thursday afternoon through early Sunday morning. Of course, your experience this month won’t be exactly the same as last month, but I have found this practice to be incredibly helpful in my own life.
We are coming up on the third quarter Moon tomorrow, and the New Moon in Capricorn that we had three weeks ago activated a lunar cycle where we may have started a new project or big goal that we are working toward and this week we are making cuts, edits, and adjustments as we move forward with those plans. With the Moon in Scorpio during this phase, things can get pretty gnarly emotionally, especially with the square to Pluto. We may feel emotionally attached to the outcomes we were hoping for and upset if they are not manifesting as we’d like them to. We may feel obsessed about a certain way that we think something should look or feel and if it doesn’t feel as intense as we want it to or it feels heavier than we feel we can handle, we may feel discouraged, upset, or overwhelmed.
When the Moon is in Scorpio we are taking a walk at the bottom of the “emotion ocean,” experiencing everything in our lives on the deepest levels and it can be scary and intense. On the flip side, if it lacks feeling, which can happen, especially when the Sun is in the detached sign of Aquarius, we can be dissatisfied with the lack of deep feeling. Scorpio wants to feel everything at its most intense and may pinch, poke, and press into things until they bleed, or the nerves pick up the sensation, so be aware of this tactic to elicit a response from yourself and others and try not to pick at things.
We may see people around us who are freaking out with this energy, letting themselves get consumed with the dark feelings that are coming up. That’s okay…they were just not prepared for the intensity of emotions that were coming, and we can hold space for them to go through the murky depths and come out the other side. I feel as if this will be a time for us to, “hold the line,” as other “asleep” souls “wake up” to their reality. This could be really intense with Pluto freshly in Aquarius activating new themes in everyone’s lives. (If you still have not read about Pluto in Aquarius for your rising sign, check out the horoscopes here.)
It could also be a time that we decide to let certain people go in our lives, which is never easy to do. Just be prepared for emotional turbulence during this time.
Touch base with your higher self, through meditation, tarot, astrology, religious texts, poetry, music, nature, or whatever way you like to connect with the divine—touch base with that inner wisdom that knows that whatever you’re going through you’re gonna make it to the other side, with more knowledge and clarity. Whatever emotional turmoil you may experience or see others experiencing, just know it’s part of the process.
Later tonight on the West Coast, early tomorrow morning on the East Coast, Mars in Capricorn will form a semisquare to Saturn in Pisces, overcoming him. This usually means that Mars would be hitting a hard boundary with Saturn, but because Mars is exalted in Capricorn and in the superior position, I think rather than receiving a hard “No,” from Saturn, he will be getting a “Not yet…” So, there is something we are striving for, pushing to do, or want to identify with that we are hitting a temporary wall, boundary, or limitation. It’s not a “No,” but a “Not, yet…” So, in due time we may see this come to pass. We just have to keep on working toward our goal.
Let’s see what the cards have to say…
What is the guidance for today?
7 of Latinum
On this card, we see seven bars of liquid latinum suspended in gold.
7 of Latinum is about investing in something for the long term and working hard to make your plans happen on a daily basis. It requires diligence, perseverance, and often sweat and tears. When this card comes up it is a reminder to not over-work yourself into exhaustion and instead keep a steady, sustainable pace. By having a long-term plan, vision, or goal one can pace themselves to guarantee one crosses the finish line.
As the guidance for today, I feel this card is reminding us to keep the bigger picture in mind as we complete the minute tasks that seem tedious, laborious, and boring. A beautiful and abundant garden does not grow overnight—it requires months to come to harvest time and those months are full of attention and care. Keep on keeping on toward your goal.
This may be especially challenging if you are going through any emotional turmoil with the Moon squaring Pluto, so, “Don’t quit on a bad day!” as the saying goes.
I hope you all have an amazing day! I would love to hear your reflections and comments!
I hope this is helpful!
Until tomorrow,
