Good morning, friends!
Something interesting happened this morning that led me on a bit of a research/rabbit trail, oh, and Rabbit! Rabbit! Good luck for this new month everyone!
Okay, back to what I was saying…I was scrolling on Instagram for just a second and I came across a post about two trees that had grown together, even though, one of the trunks of the trees had been severed from the ground! I found this same post on Twitter and have posted the link to it below:

This phenomenon is called “Inosculation” and I wanted to share with you what Wikipedia says about it because it ties in so perfectly with the transits today:
“Inosculation is a natural phenomenon in which trunks, branches or roots of two trees grow together in a manner biologically similar to the artificial process of grafting. The term is derived from the Latin roots in + ōsculārī, "to kiss into/inward/against" or etymologically and more illustratively "to make a small mouth inward/into/against"; trees having undergone the process are referred to in forestry as gemels, from the Latin word meaning "a pair".[1]
It is most common for branches of two trees of the same species to grow together, though inosculation may be noted across related species. The branches first grow separately in proximity to each other until they touch. At this point, the bark on the touching surfaces is gradually abraded away as the trees move in the wind. Once the cambium of two trees touches, they sometimes self-graft and grow together as they expand in diameter. Inosculation customarily results when tree limbs are braided or pleached.
The term inosculation is also used in the context of plastic surgery, as one of the three mechanisms by which skin grafts take at the host site. Blood vessels from the recipient site are believed to connect with those of the graft in order to restore vascularity.” (Wikipedia, 2023)1
How it Relates to the Sky Today
Today the Moon is in Cancer and at 3:08 am ET, she made a square to Venus in Libra, followed by an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn at 8:06 am ET. Venus in Libra is also applying to square Pluto, which will perfect on Sunday, December 3, 2023, but today they are 2° apart, so they are within the 3° of engagement, basically, their “rays2” are touching. What this means is that the Moon is facilitating a T-Square configuration in the sky today, transferring the light from Venus to Pluto.
Venus is in a square from both the Moon and to Pluto and as such is the focal point of this T-Square. The tension between the Moon and Pluto has to be released somehow and it will happen through Venus.
Pluto is about our survival and Venus is about relationships, love, and connectedness and this brings me to the trees…in order to survive, these trees needed each other and grew together in a loving embrace, sharing nutrients, sharing space, and ultimately becoming something entirely new. I can’t not see how this correlates—survival through love.
I just thought it was so profound and beautiful that I wanted to share it. It’s so symbolic of this transit and it shows how something hard and challenging can become beautiful and poetic—as they say in Jurassic Park: Life will find a way.3
Besides this T-Square, we have two important shifts happening today…Mercury will ingress into Capricorn at 9:31 am ET (hence all the citations and quotes! LOL!) and the Moon will move into Leo at 11 am ET.
Mercury in Capricorn is the evening star setting after the Sun—so symbolically this means that after all is illuminated we can mentally process it. As I said in the Weekly Forecast, Mercury as the evening star gives us “hindsight.” The Cambridge English Dictionary defines “hindsight” as:
“the ability to understand an event or situation only after it has happened:
~with (the benefit/wisdom of) hindsight [i.e.] With (the benefit/wisdom of) hindsight, I should have taken the job.
~in hindsight [i.e.] In hindsight, it would have been better to wait.” (Cambridge English Dictionary, n.d.)
Once Mercury ingresses into Capricorn, he will perfect a sextile to Saturn in Pisces and the benefits of wisdom, clear thinking, and mental solitude will be easily available to us; we may gain some “hindsight” about a situation.
The Moon moving into Leo will bring a bit of drama, determination, and loyalty into the mix. When the Moon is in Leo we want to have a good time, yes, but it’s also a time when people show their grit, stamina, and appreciation for something they love. The Moon will form a trine to Mars at 9:47 pm ET tonight.
Reminds me of a scene in a medieval movie when the doors of the castle swiftly open revealing the King or Queen in all their glory, ready to courageously take action! This transit represents fiery speed, flight, and a sense of soaring toward something.
We may have the courage to do something today or tomorrow that comes from the heart and lets loose the arrow of Mars in Sagittarius! Where will it land? What are you aiming at?
What is the guidance for the day?
