Good afternoon, friends!

I’d like to start today with a birthday shout-out to my good friend Elizabeth:

Happy Birthday, Lovely!

May you have a blessed year full of harmony, love, and wonderfully fun experiences!

Today’s astrology shows a change in desire, motivation, and how we go about getting what we want.

Meanwhile, the tarot’s guidance says there is new information coming in that may change the plans; be ready to take action, prove your case, or use your skills of diplomacy and tact.

This post runs a little longer than usual because we’re diving into today’s transits, the Mars in Libra ingress, and a fascinating kite configuration lighting up the skies.

Okay, let’s get into...the astrology

(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)

Wednesday, August 6, 2025—The Summary

There seem to be some decisions that need to be made. You probably know what I’m referring to because it’s very possible you’ve been mulling over these subjects for a while now. Perhaps you’ve already made your decision before today’s transit is exact1, but it’s also possible that today or tomorrow is the day.

This decision could be about making a big purchase, saying yes or no to a relationship, or to an invitation to engage with someone or something that has come into your life. What you will choose to do has a lot to do with how you feel about it.

You could be feeling at odds with this person, purchase, or invitation, and need some time to process your emotions, formulating your response. You might be internally conflicted or feeling pressed by outside forces—or by your own inner pressure to finally decide.

Others may feel differently than you do, and what is important to them is not what is important to you, and so there could be feelings of frustration, defensiveness, and being on two different pages, which creates a lot of tension and drama.

The good news is that, although your perspectives may differ right now, there’s a shared desire to connect and join forces. Instead of a hard “no,” you may hear: “Yes, if we…” — and that’s the gateway to a beautiful compromise. There may be a little discomfort or a little sacrifice to make it work, but the intention to do so is there, and that is all that really matters.

The surprise may be in the solution you create together might be better than anything you imagined alone.

Wednesday’s Transit Times

The Moon is in Capricorn all day—a supportive time for making solid, grounded plans.

  • 2:38 am - Moon Opposite Venus

  • 1:39 pm - Moon Opposite Jupiter

  • 4:53 pm - Moon Quincunx Sun

  • 7:23 pm - Mars Enters Libra

  • 7:35 pm - Moon Sesquiquadrate Uranus

Transit Spotlight: Mars Enters Libra

Mars in Libra is poised at the top of the chart at the 1 o’clock position on the wheel.

Mars ingresses into the sign of Libra (his detriment) at 7:23 pm ET.

Mars represents our drives, desires, what we identify ourselves with, our energy levels, and the actions that we take to get what we want.

In Libra, a sign associated with beauty, balance, and partnership, this symbolizes that we could feel a strong creative urge to sing, dance, and play music, and a desire to be more diplomatic, charming, and softer in our approach to life—all things very un-Mars-like, due to the fact that Libra is a Venus-ruled sign. I love the way astrologer Christopher Renstrom describes Mars in Libra in his book, The Cosmic Calendar (2020):

“[Mars in Libra] is as comfortable in this sign as a tomboy in a Disney princess dress.”

So, Mars in Libra may be a little out of his element, leading to indecisiveness and a more passive voice, but it may be a nice change from the soldier-like Mars in Virgo that we’ve just left, who had an insatiable desire for productivity, perfectionism, following orders, and list-making.

This Mars wants to fight for justice, beauty, and harmony, and do it with a partner. Imagine: Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers putting on a charity show, dancing for a cause!

People teaming up and joining forces is something we may see a lot of or even wish for ourselves during Mars’s time in Libra (he will leave Libra and enter Scorpio on September 22, 2025).

Mars Forms a Kite

Mars will be engaging in a kite aspect pattern, as shown in the above wheel. He will form a Grand Trine to Uranus (August 8) and Pluto retrograde (August 10), while opposing Saturn (August 8) and Neptune (August 9), both retrograde. Pluto and Uranus happen to be making sextiles to the Saturn/Neptune pair, thus completing the kite configuration.

Mars will be having some pretty major aspects right off the bat that put him at the focal point of a “kite” configuration (above).

A “kite” in astrology is formed by four planets whose angles create a—you guessed it—kite shape. It represents coming to a crossroads about an opportunity that is presented to you that you have to make a decision about. There are supportive players or factors that hopefully help you come to a conclusion.

The backbone of this “kite” is Mars opposing Saturn retrograde, as shown by the red line joining the two planets in the above chart.

Mars Opposite Saturn Retrograde

Usually, this aspect means delay, frustration, and blocked momentum. But this time is different.

Why? Because of something called mutual reception.

  • Mars is in Libra, where Saturn is exalted

  • Saturn is in Aries, ruled by Mars

This creates a kind of cosmic collaboration—each planet is willing to work with the other. Mars presents his case, and Saturn (the judge) listens favorably.

We could see things in our lives that seem impossible go our way, and because Mars in Libra wants to unite with others and form bonds, partnerships, and teams, we could see unlikely pairings occur.

So if something you want has felt out of reach, don’t give up. This could be your breakthrough moment—especially if you act with integrity, clarity, and grace. Doors may open that were previously closed, or suddenly, rules may actually work in your favor.
