Good afternoon, friends!
Happy July 4th! My family and I are going to watch a local parade and then attend a barbecue to celebrate. I wish you all a happy holiday weekend full of good times!
Another fun tarot synchronicity occurred that I’d like to share with you.
Following Wednesday’s Ace of Pentacles moment—those surprise fair tickets from a generous friend—I was still basking in the afterglow of joy when another unexpected gift landed in my lap: an invitation to attend a salsa workshop, completely free of charge, when I return home to North Carolina.
That felt like a clear embodiment of yesterday’s card—the Knight of Cups—arriving with a heartfelt offer, something beautiful and moving and just a little bit dreamy, a salsa workshop taught by two world champions!
The Knight doesn’t rush; he arrives in his own time, with sincerity and grace. And this invitation, coming right on the heels of a magical day with my family, touched me in that Knight-of-Cups kind of way—sweet in spirit, and full of creative, emotional energy.
This is why I always encourage you to track your tarot pulls and notice what unfolds in the days and weeks that follow. It’s in the real-life moments—the gifts, the texts, the tears, the joy—that the cards come alive. :)
Okay, let’s get into...the astrology
(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)
FRIDAY, July 4—Sunday, July 6, 2025—The Weekend Summary
We have a whirlwind of changes happening today, Friday, July 4th, that will set the tone for the whole weekend!
Venus conjoins Uranus1 at the last degree of Taurus (8:45 am ET), symbolizing sudden, unexpected changes in love, values, and money—these could be fantastic windfalls, exciting romances, or unexpected chaos. (Let me know what happens for you!) Then, Venus enters Gemini (11:30 am ET), changing the story from grounded sensuality to curious, flirtatious exploration—this is about stimulation, experimentation, and the joy of exchanging ideas.
That same evening, Neptune stations retrograde (5:33 pm ET), and this is when the rose-colored glasses we’ve been wearing since December of 2024 come off, and we see things for what they really are— without filters, without sugar coating, and without green screens. For the next 5 months, during Neptune’s retrograde, we will be dissolving the illusions we’ve allowed ourselves to dream up and rewriting our stories, like the soft waves of the ocean reshaping the hard edges of the shoreline, one breath at a time.
The Moon’s journey adds emotional depth: starting in Libra and quickly entering Scorpio Friday morning, making a square to Pluto retrograde, which may bring up some intense and possibly scary feelings about our survival or resources, and then she trines Jupiter, soothing those anxious feelings with hope and blessings.
Saturday, the Scorpio Moon squares Mercury, sextiles Mars, and trines the Sun, adding a challenge in the communications department, but drive and energy, and a willingness to get things going in an agreed-upon direction. The Moon’s harmonious aspects to the nodes on Saturday add slip, so things do go along smoothly despite friction, misunderstandings, or possible arguments.
Sunday could be challenging as the Moon’s opposition to Uranus brings sudden changes, possible emotional outbursts, and unexpected detours—try your best to have a lot of patience on Sunday, count to ten, take deep breaths, and excuse yourself, if needed. Late Sunday night, the Moon will enter Sagittarius and bring in some enthusiastic optimism, making favorable aspects to Saturn and Neptune, which offer a lot of support, but she will end the weekend in a standoff with Venus, leaving us at odds with someone we love—or questioning what we truly value.
By Sunday, Venus in Gemini forms supportive sextiles to Saturn and Neptune (early morning), boosting creative, stable connections. But as the Sun forms a semisquare to Uranus (3:30 pm), delays or disruptions may test our plans.
So, all in all, the weekend is full to the brim with shifting landscapes, unexpected blessings, and dynamic plot twists. Expect revelations, breakthroughs, and maybe a few messy moments. Keep your heart open, your plans loose, and your voice calm, and you’ll be alright. ;)
Today, we will be spotlighting Venus’s ingress into Gemini and Neptune’s retrograde motion, followed by a tarot spread digging into the past, present, and future for guidance through all these shifts.

✨ Transit Spotlight: Venus Enters Gemini
You can see Venus at the top of the chart, freshly in Gemini, just a smidge past her conjunction with Uranus, which perfected earlier, the smell of change still thick in the air.
Venus is the goddess of love and has to do with relationships, love, beauty, pleasures, sexuality, sensuality, and things of tangible value, like money, jewels, and fine art.
Gemini is a mutable sign, meaning that it is flexible, adaptable, open to change, and deals with the transitions between spaces, ideas, and behaviors. It’s also an air sign, which signifies communication, relationships, and mental stimulation.
When Venus is in Gemini, she is not in harmonious relationships to the signs she rules, Taurus and Libra, so she may feel a little lost, distant, and out of sync with herself. She’s in the domicile of Mercury, the planet of what we think, say, and do with our minds and our hands. Venus represents our senses and what makes us feel comfortable, like soft, warm, and inviting things, pleasurable pastimes, parties, fun, and shared experiences—thoughts and intellectual pursuits often have a more cold, metallic quality which are opposite to Venusian qualities, and thus she may feel more detached, logical, and clever while in Gemini.
Venus is the planet of what we like and attract into our lives, so while she is in Gemini for the next 3 ½ weeks (she moves into Cancer on July 30, 2025), we may find joy and pleasure in the exchanges of ideas, the exploration of money-making schemes, and getting into intellectual conversations and relationships. Staying open and curious about what is available to us may be a hallmark of this time, and trying and tasting everything at least once may bring joy and pleasure.
🌊 Transit Spotlight: Neptune Stations Retrograde
Friday evening, Neptune will station retrograde at 02°Aries 10’, at 5:33 pm ET. You can see Neptune on the lower right-hand side of the chart above, co-present with Saturn and Chiron in Aries.
This represents a time period when the waters of Neptune will wash back over certain areas in life.
When Neptune is direct, it is like the tide coming in, making the sand wet and washing up shells onto the beach, and then when Neptune stations retrograde, this is when the tide recedes and draws back out to sea those shells that didn’t get picked up or anchored onto the beach somehow.
Neptune represents illusion, fog, and uncertainty because he washes things away. He represents music and art because those media speak to us in non-verbal ways. He represents transcendence because there is the feeling with Neptune that one is getting closer to enlightenment the further out to sea one gets or the more in sync one is with the natural rhythm of the waves, the breath, the natural cycles of the subconscious that we can’t consciously control—the autonomic nervous systems of ourselves and of the earth, and our unconscious connection to the divine and the collective unconscious—the pool of thought forms and energies that we don’t realize we can actually tap into because the path is foggy or through the veil.
Now the veil is being pulled back and whatever shells Neptune brought into your life while direct, he will now tug and pull at, showing us what was real and what was an illusion—only the shells that truly anchored themselves or were picked up will stay and the rest will wash back out to be replaced with new treasures when the tide comes in again.
The Weekend Tarot
Let’s see what the cards have to say about the past, present, and future outlook.
What is the guidance for the weekend?
The Past-VIII of Wands (reversed)
This card is about taking aim and setting your sights on something, or it is about receiving messages sent to you.
In reverse, the VIII of Wands suggests missed messages or delayed momentum—perhaps something failed to take off or reach its target, or you set your sights on something that was out of reach, unrealistic, or unattainable. So, something didn’t hit the mark, make the cut, or be received in the way that you’d hoped it would, or the message simply never came.
The Present-VI The Lovers (reversed)
Something you love and hold dear is not connecting in the way you would like it to right now. Perhaps whatever it was that you set your sights on in the past with the VIII of wands that didn’t work out is now becoming an accepted reality, and you are falling out of love with that thing, person, or situation.
Seems to me the rose colored glasses are coming off, and this reading so far, reflects the sentiments brought up by Neptune’s retrograde station and the Venus/Uranus conjunction—something surprising in love or relationships going through a change of heart.
Additionally, the VI Lovers reversed could also be about feeling internally fragmented, like you are wrestling with competing desires or priorities.
The Future-The Wheel of Fortune
Change is coming, and it’s part of a larger cosmic cycle. The Wheel promises a turn of fate, possibly one that restores hope, progress, or balance—but it’s also a reminder that we’re not fully in control.
The Wheel of Fortune upright means luck is on our side, so it may be wild, unpredictable, and a little disorienting, but it will prove to be exciting and usher in change that will have a lasting impact.
To Recap:
Something in the past didn’t work out, wasn’t received, or was not a good match. You are accepting this reality in the present moment and letting go of your hopes and dreams tied to how you thought things should unfold. You may be wrestling with internal unrest or feeling pulled in two different directions—which can stir up pressure to choose or commit. Instead, be open to the future’s unpredictable nature and ready to ride the waves of life, with new balance and ingenuity.
What’s coming may surprise you!
