Good afternoon, friends!
Remember the other day when I was talking about wanting to buy a bedskirt? Well, I decided to make one instead, using an old tablecloth that I have, and it really fits the card reading today so well! I haven’t started the project yet, but I can feel that it will begin soon.
This weekend is power-packed with Mars perfecting his opposition to Pluto tonight and the New Moon in Taurus tomorrow. I hope you all have a great couple of days and enjoy today’s horoscope, card reading, and mini-horoscopes, available to all tiers!
Okay, let’s get into….the astrology
(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)
Saturday, April 26, 2025
The Moon is in Aries all day on Saturday, so there may be a restlessness to take action on something or to go somewhere, or start something new. It’s a good energy to begin new projects, but since the New Moon is tomorrow, make sure whatever you are starting is something you’ve been thinking about for a while, so it has some staying power. If it isn’t, the idea may get started today but quickly lose its shininess and appeal as soon as tomorrow!
In the afternoon, the Aries Moon will form a sextile to Jupiter in Gemini, which is awesome and means that your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find the data, information, connection, person, or item that you need or want. Let the games begin!
You may feel confident and optimistic about life and supported by those around you. It’s a time of good judgment and pleasant exchanges with others in terms of your beliefs and philosophies.
You might also find that special piece you are looking for at a Saturday garage sale, flea market, or thrift store! Have fun doing whatever it is you feel like doing because this transit spells success!
The Moon will conjoin Chiron in Aries at 5:33 pm, symbolizing feeling in tune with your surroundings and aware of the healing opportunities around you. Chiron is the wounded healer, and in Aries, this means that collectively we are all on a mission to heal some part of our identity that feels wounded, lacking, or vulnerable.
When the Moon meets up with Chiron every month, we are able to connect deeply with this space and often times have spiritual or synchronistic events that feel like signs from the Universe, so keep your eyes and ears open for those little cosmic breadcrumbs that you are on the right path.
Late on Saturday night, at 9:04 pm, Mars in Leo will perfect his opposition to Pluto in Aquarius and this is the final piece to the dynamic T-Square that we’ve been talking about for the past week between Mars, Pluto, and the Sun. Now that the opposition is perfecting, the Sun has reached 07° Taurus, and the New Moon is tomorrow, marking a new beginning, so I think it is very poignant that we have this opposition happening during a balsamic moon phase. Let’s look at the chart.
Mars Opposite Pluto 2025
You can see Mars in Leo at the top of the chart, opposite Pluto in Aquarius at the bottom of the chart.
Mars and Pluto in an opposition present us with an either/or situation, a power struggle between what we want for ourselves and the resources we have for the group. There is a tug of war between these two planets, and it may manifest as will and aggression versus change, transformation, and death. In other words, there is this feeling of fighting against the change or the forced initiation.
So, which archetype will win? Mars in Leo, with it’s dashing, gregarious fiery drive and ambition, or Pluto in Aquarius, with its objective, reasonable, and detached demeanor? It’s like Captain Kirk in a standoff with Spock, or Harry Potter vs. Professor Snape—one is full of heroism, chivalrous charm, and iron-clad courage, and the other has a detached objective demeanor, understands the whole picture, and can see the long-term consequences of actions taken in the here and now. Pluto in Aquairus/Spock/Snape, looks at Mars in Leo/Captain Kirk/Harry Potter and sees someone who just doesn’t understand all the pieces on the board, and therefore needs to be protected, not fought against, because they are ignorant to some important aspect, and that is why I feel that the Plutonian energy will tip the scales between the opposition, and change/transformation will occur, no matter how much we brandish our swords and try to fight “the enemy,” because Pluto knows that the enemy is not something “out there,” but a mindset, a set of beliefs and philosophies “in here.”
Sunday, April 27, 2025
Today is the day of the New Moon in Taurus, so we will focus on that and the transits surrounding this monthly conjunction of the Sun and Moon.
As I say, every month, New Moons are always a seeding point, a new beginning, a new spark of inspiration, or a new focus. So, this New Moon in Taurus will have Taurean characteristics to it and be about the things you find pleasure in, such as food, sleep, clothes, and your favorite form of entertainment, as well as what you find stability in, such as your home, financial security, and your possessions, and things you are stubborn about, like your habits, routines, and opinions.
As soon as the Moon enters Taurus at 3:16 am on Sunday morning, she will begin to square the Mars/Pluto opposition, reactivating the dynamic T-square energy we have been feeling all week with the Sun. The T-square with the Sun, Mars, and Pluto has brought up a lot of stuff about who we are, what we’re doing, and why we’re doing it. The T-square with the Moon, Mars, and Pluto is going to challenge us on an emotional and circumstantial level, and we may find ourselves feeling stubborn and defensive and digging our heels in.
When the Moon squares Pluto, it is when deep feelings come up to the surface about something, and whatever it is that comes up is often edgy, a bit painful to look at, and emotionally challenging. When the Moon squares Mars, arguments, fights, and aggressive attitudes take center stage.
I have found that during a Moon/Pluto square, either my children, my husband, or another family member will bring something up that is bothering them that is accusatory, and all of a sudden, they want to talk about it and tell me why they are mad, disappointed, or upset. The key in these moments is to understand that the astrology is symbolizing people feeling the need to voice their grievances to you, either about you or about someone else, and the trick is to not get triggered and turn it into a fight, argument, or battle of who said what or who does or doesn’t do what, but to listen, with love, to the other person. It’s hard to face the music sometimes, but that is what Moon square Pluto brings up: uncomfortable subjects, touchy emotions, and triggered situations. So, tread lightly, my friends! The Moon squaring Mars at the same time doesn’t make this any easier, and in fact, it will make it harder to keep your cool, especially with the Moon in sensual Taurus, the bull! It’s hard to push a bull over, but if you make one mad, watch out! They will not hesitate to charge at you and run you over.
A few more transits that are happening before the New Moon are that Mercury in Aries will form a semisquare to Uranus in Taurus, indicating something unexpected coming to light that you have to wrap your mind around before taking action on; and the Moon in Tuarus making a semisquare Jupiter in Gemini, representing a big idea that you have for the future that you are working on that needs a few kinks worked out of it before it can take form.
The New Moon will take place at 3:31 pm at 07¯Taurus 46’.
After the New Moon, the Moon in Taurus will make frustrating aspects to the nodes and a semisquare to Saturn, showing us that there’s not much we can do today about it, so we might as well practice patience and gratitude.
Let’s take a look at the chart.
New Moon in Taurus
Above is the chart of the New Moon at 07°Taurus 46’, perfecting at 3:31 pm ET. You can see the Sun and the Moon both at the top of the chart between 12 and 1 o’clock. Both the Sun and the Moon are separating from their squares to Mars opposite Pluto, which, at this time, has begun to separate, but is still within the 3 degrees of engagement.
Venus is only one degree past Saturn in Pisces, so they are still within the 3-degree range of engagement as well. Since Venus is the dispositor of this New Moon, this means that whatever relationship, financial, or value-driven ideals you’ve been dealing with lately will be integral to the new beginning during this lunar phase. Venus is about to move into Aries again and conjoin Neptune for the third time, but this time in Aries, where Venus is in her detriment, being that Aries is a Mars-ruled sign. There could be some sort of grand illusion around something you find pleasure in, or are intoxicated by, coming up this month that has to do with letting go of something, such as an ideal, a dream, or a fantasy, and focusing your efforts on the long-term, overall plan that is good for all involved and not just yourself. But with Venus so close to Aries, this change will not occur within us without a fight. A fight to hold on to what we had, what we wanted, or what we thought was in our future. Things are changing, and a lot of it is out of our control, as Pluto in Aquarius is so kindly showing us.
Uranus in Taurus is also making favorable aspects to the nodes during this New Moon, and he’s also in a partile conjunction with Algol, the demon star, that means that whatever Uranian twist is on the agenda there won’t be anything anyone can do to stop it! Now, this could be favorable or this could be challenging. Only time will tell. The fact that Uranus is with Algol right now is a little concerning, since Algol is associated with beheadings and people “losing their heads,” about stuff, but it’s also about “female intense passion,” according to astrologer Bernadette Brady of Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars1, so we may see some extreme behavior around the world and in the news with this one, or we may feel intensely passionate about something and take action in a surprising way.
Here are some questions to ask yourself on this New Moon:
What are you starting today? What do you notice? Who are you connecting with? What brings you pleasure? What do you find joy in? What makes you feel secure, stable, and safe? How are your possessions serving you right now?
Briefly, below you will find the house where this new moon is occurring, according to your rising sign. Find your rising and read the house topics associated with this New Moon. You may notice a new beginning involving one or more of those topics.

I wish you all a Happy New Moon!
The Tarot Cards
Let’s do a three-card spread, picking one card each for What to Embrace, Accept, and Release.
What is the guidance for the New Moon?
What to Embrace
5 of Pentacles
It’s time to embrace the parts of yourself that you feel are victimized, unloved, or left out in the cold. I don’t mean to embrace them in a way that makes them the star of the show, but literally, “embrace” them with your spiritual arms. Love those parts of yourself that feel weak, alone, and isolated, like you would a beloved child, and treat them with the most gentle and loving care. These are the parts of yourself that need healing and you need to hold space for those parts and protect them so that you can heal. Trauma, pain, and grief don’t need to become your identity, but they do need to be acknowledged as real and handled with care.
This card could also be about embracing your need for assistance, therapy, or help from others. What you need is available, if you would only look up or around to see it.
What to Accept
2 of Wands
You had some dreams, and they may not have come true, or maybe they did come true, but they are different from what you imagined. Or you have a lot of ideas, and that’s great! Ideas are wonderful. Write them down or put them in an app for safekeeping. Accept that you have dreams, ideas, and a wanderlust for something outside of your everyday experience. Accept the longing within yourself and also understand that not everything has to manifest; sometimes becoming an ‘idea’ in someone’s mind is all that they were meant to be.
But this card is about accepting that you have dreams, ideas, and aspirations that will take you someplace else, and it may be time to get serious and make plans.
What to Release
14. Temperance
Release the need to integrate everything. Some things are actually better if they are their own thing. Release the idea that you have to make order out of the chaos. Sometimes it is all about living in the chaos for a while. We can’t control anything except our own reactions and actions, so let go of trying to control things outside of yourself.
On the other hand, this card in the “release” position could be about releasing something new made out of opposites. This may feel like magic.
Turn what you have that is not “doing it” for you into something that feels new, fresh, and exciting!
This card always makes me think of a chemical change in chemistry, you know, when you take two things and combine them together and they make something entirely new, a third thing, that can’t be broken back down into the two original substances? Like combining fire and wood to get ash. Or an egg and a sperm to make a baby. These things can not be reversed. So, make something new and irreversible!
To Recap:
Embrace yourself in love, embrace that you may need assistance in some way right now. Look up and around you; the answers you seek are very close to you. Accept that you dream of something different and make some plans. Release the need to control the chaos and allow the synergy to happen naturally. Make something new that lights you up inside!
What do you get from this reading? I would love to know.
I hope this is helpful!
